First of all the staff here were so accommodating, friendly and helpful when we arrived late after a long day of travelling. The room was amazing, so luxurious and comfortable with plenty of space for our things. Very clean and fresh, with a comfortable bed and great pillows too! Would highly recommend this place, we really could not fault it. It was a shame to be leaving.

I like to give the benefit of doubt and leave positive reviews over negative ones, but I really wasn't impressed with my stay here. I arrived very late at night after a long day of traveling and upon stepping out of the taxi the *** who appears to be the manager immediately demanded cash. I'd arranged everything on card, but my initial booking was cancelled with the platform, and I needed to pay cash immediately (this is after 1am when the nearest ATM is quite some distance). He kept asking how much cash did I have and just to give him what I could immediately. During my 3 days at the hotel, there was no room service or general cleaning, and every time the manager saw me he mentioned I owed them around 100 rupees for a beer (I bought it after he'd taken all my cash off me on arrival). I asked for two things, whether he could help with recommending where I could hire a bike and booking a taxi when I left. I was told he'd arrange both and well, neither happened. When it came to leaving, he was thankfully not there and a different member of staff helped with a taxi and told me not to worry about the 100 rupee bill for a beer when I said I still owed it when I checked out. On the day of leaving, I realised I'd left something important to me but relatively low value in the room. I messaged the property immediately saying where I'd left it and would they keep it for a few days as I was due to pass by again. I was told this would be fine. I then travelled back to the hotel to collect it, only for it to become clear not only did they not have it, but they had not looked for it. The manager promptly handed me a bill for 140 rupees for the beer that had been waived on my departure. They had misled me to the hotel to settle a bill that had already been waived. On facilities, the hotel suffers from mosquitos more than I've experienced in my travels around Goa, I was unable to use the outside space in an evening due to it, and I would argue the quality of the rooms and furnishings do not quite meet the luxury/boutique label or price point. Given the generally positive reviews, I may have just caught them on a bad day, but I just didn't feel comfortable during my time there, the first impression left me feel like I was nothing but an ATM-machine for them, and them lying to me and wasting my time over returning my belongings leaves a sour taste.

I like to give the benefit of doubt and leave positive reviews over negative ones, but I need to let potential customers know to avoid this hotel. I arrived very late at night after a long day of traveling and upon stepping out of the taxi the *** who appears to be the manager (easily recognisable by his unsettling grin and combover) pounced demanding payment and saying i needed to pay cash. He quoted me a price higher than we'd agreed through the Booking platform and was very persistent pushing for cash immediately (this is after 1am when the nearest ATM is quite some distance). He kept asking how much cash did I have and just to give him what I could immediately. I stalled him, gave him a small amount (at which point he was immediately disinterested in me) and went to bed. The next morning I was badgered for cash. All in all this transaction cost me several thousand rupees more than the agreed cost. When it came to leaving, he was thankfully not there and a different member of staff helped with a taxi and told me not to worry about the 100 rupee bill for a beer as I'd not received breakfast one of the mornings, when I said I still owed it when I checked out. On the day of leaving, I realised I'd left something important to me but relatively low value in the room. I messaged the property immediately saying where I'd left it and would they keep it for a few days as I was due to pass by again. I was told this would be fine. When I went to collect it, it was clear they didn't have it, and they had made no attempt to even look for it. The manager promptly presented me with a bill for 140 rupees for the beer that had been waived on my departure. This hotel is neither boutique, nor luxury. It may have been some time ago but now it is dated. The premise is a building site as they add more rooms and the garden/food area is INFESTED with mosquitos. I'm sure a few years ago it was a lovely place, but now it's run by thieves.

My wife found this place online by fluke and i should say this was a blessing!! The place is run by owners who stay on the property and they will make u feel at home. The owner Melroy is so helpful that he answered our phone call at 4.30 am in the morning and made arrangements for an early checkin at minimal cost. The staff is extremly helpful especially Patrick and their inhouse chef Ruth, they will suggest you the best possible things. Patrick helped us with booking our water sports activities and also arranged for a wonderful romantic dinner. The chef Ruth makes some wonderful, lip smacking ,authentic pan asian food thats to die for!! Trust me when i say this, once u try the food, you wont feel like going to any other restaurants. All the other staff is courteous too. The place is located just on the main road so there isnt any hassle to find it and is peaceful and calm and candolim beach is at a 5 min walking distance from this place. All kinds of shops and basic amenities are just hop, skip and jump. One of the best things i like about the place is that it isnt noisy till late night like any other places u would find in calangute and baga. The rooms are spacious enough and has all the basic amenities like washroom essentials, hot and cold water, tv with netflix etc. Honestly, i tried to find a con with this place and i just couldnt! A huge thank you to the shivers oasis team for this truly remarkable experience and i will definately visit this lovely place again!!!
