voco St. David's Cardiff, an IHG Hotel
4.3/550 Reviews
The most relaxing stay! Was greeted on reception by Tricia who was wonderful, as it was my wife and I’s first wedding anniversary she gave us a couple of complimentary drinks vouchers which was a lovely touch. The room was beautiful, very clean. The only minor fault to point out was there was a glass which still had lipstick on it, not a huge deal to us though. The pool/jacuzzi were lovely and weren’t overly busy even at 6pm. Would’ve happily stayed in the pool all day! We had food in the restaurant in the evening which again, we couldn’t fault. Krish made the most beautiful margaritas that were up there with the best I’ve ever had! Service was great and there wasn’t a wait for anything. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we can’t wait to come back. The staff are an absolute credit to the company and hotel!

Lovely apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay in Cardiff. Friendly staff and only 5 minutes from the city centre.
Ibis Cardiff Centre Hotel
3.7/521 Reviews
The hotel is located in the city of Cardiff, 400 meters from the commercial center and less than one kilometer from the castle. World chain hotels, standardized management, a hundred times stronger than the old hotels in the UK, the price is not expensive in advance. First choice abroad.
Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel & Spa

High price - especially when you have to pay for your overnight parking (I paid £17.00) and then if you want to have a swim it'll cost you another tenner! Cheeky buggers. Staff very pleasant and our room, although a bit 'tired' was spacious and light with a super comfy bed. Restaurant - staff again very pleasant but I was rather confused about my dinner wich consisted on half a plate of saute potatoes, a chicken schnitzel and a large bowl of cherry tomatoes. That's it. Chicken cooked perfectly, saute potatoes weren't actually saute, just deep fried slices and what I was supposed to do with so many tomatoes I have no idea but it was a pretty boring dinner and I would recommend it.
Travelodge Cardiff Central Queen Street

Located in the middle of the city centre close to castle and local attractions. Unfortunately room backed into a night club which played music till 4am. If you are a light sleeper this could be an issue. Other then that lovely place.
The Angel Hotel

The Positives! Reception was very friendly and extremely helpful, allowing us to check in well before 3pm. Both ladies from house keeping that I came across could not have been more helpful. Restaurant staff were pleasant, efficient and served well cooked food that was nicely presented by the chef. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. I was impressed by the inclusion of a table and chairs to sit at with a drink whilst watching the good sized television. The negatives1 Torn wallpaper and marks on the wall. Although on the third floor you can't sleep with a window open for all the traffic noise below. To the credit of the hotel they are hosting families from Ukraine but this causes its own problems. We were the only non-Ukraine guests using the restaurant on our first night and had our peace disturbed by the children being allowed to run around making a noise in the adjoining foyer. As the children need to get to school they have an early breakfast so consequently we arrived at 8.30 to find all the fruit salad and croissants gone. There was only one glass left for fruit juice and all the bread for toast had been eaten. This is a simple matter of logistics which the hotel should be addressing. Finally, due to a no smoking policy the Ukraine adults gathered in small groups outside the entrance to smoke which not only created a poor image but they were reluctant to move, requiring other guests to walk around or through them!
