This Hotel is fabulous, the staff are outstanding, helpful, friendly and will go the extra mile to help. Breakfast is fabulous. Bar prices are reasonable with a great selection of drinks. No draft beer. Whilst on Holiday my wife had a fall in town. We got back to the hotel the bar person, first aider and manager attended to my wife showing great compassion. Administered first aid and then directing us to a nearby clinic. The Hotel is close to the harbour and shopping area. Highly recommended.

This is our third time at the Royal Sun and we just love going back to stay - it really is home from home. Like many of the reviews, the management and staff really make the stay so memorable. I have to give so much credit to Stefania and her wonderful team - from Eva, Emma and Maria on front desk right up to the fantastic super friendly restaurant team including Manta, Maria, Konstantina, Joanne and Harris. Sorry if I’ve left anybody out, but really they are all a wonderful bunch of people. Let’s not forget the housekeeping team too who are such a lovely friendly bunch and do a wonderful job keeping the rooms immaculate. The hotel is always super clean, the beds so comfy and the views - of course- stunning. We love the food in the restaurant at lunchtime too - so tasty with all fresh ingredients. You won’t find a hotel experience like this in Chania. It really is the town’s best kept secret. Needless to say, like so many people who come here, we will absolutely be back again. I cannot wait for next year, and thanks again for such a memorable stay.

We visited the Halepa hotel after a long time again. The property has now been partially upgraded. Some rooms have been refurbished to a more modern touch, there is a fully functional Gym and a sauna, even an electric car charging station. The roof garden is being used as a relaxation area with a whirlpool. All in all, the hotel has not lost its touch at all! The friendly staff go out of their way to accommodate their guests, and nothing is too much trouble. For me, the hotel's highlight is its location. It is close enough to walk into Chania center, and away from all the noise of the city. The area is full of old charming houses, and in close proximity you will find the house of one of Greece's most longstanding politicians, Eleftherios Venizelos. We definitely will visit again!

Nice hotel with perfect location near bus station and old town. I really liked breakfast and want especially mention grissini, fresh fruits and vegan cheese. Coffee was from machine but it was good and enough choices. The view from our balcony was on inner ward, where were lots of pigeons, so also lots of pigeon poop everywhere. In the fridge were one bottle of water and two bottles of lemonade free of charge.

... When we arrived in Chaniá on Nov. 20 – not that way Helena. It was not easy to find the object in the labyrinth-in-labyrinth gas cord of the old town, but our search was not angry, because we also crossed many visible sections, which was very interesting. The object is located in the second row behind the construction of the port bay, and this at a place where the gate was particularly narrow. We had to go to our room in the upper floor by tight walks and steep stairs – but then there was a great reward for our effort: Through the large windows of our very attractive and spacious room we had a magnificent view over the whole area of the Venice port up to the mountains! Central, but also quiet! Genial! The chef of the house was very friendly and very competent. He gave us excellent tips for locals for eating, drinking ... and for viewable, which is not in guides. The price for our room was significantly higher than that of the other hotels visited on our trip through Athens and Crete – but still in the framework. We were busy on the way, and hadn't rented a car, because on four wheels you can't reach the house. And the next parking option would have been very far away.

Great place to stay in Chania. It has an excellent location, close to the Old Port, the bus station, supermarkets and shops. The room was cleaned every day and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also really good. 100% recommended!

I was very pleased with my stay here for 6 nights. I arrived late at night so the hotel reception was a little tricky to find, and I was nervous since all the shops were closed and the streets were kind of empty but actually the neighborhood is entirely safe and right in the middle of all the action. I loved having everything right at my doorstep - restaurants, shopping, the old town center. The room was clean and actually much larger than I expected. Good wifi, powerful air conditioner, comfortable bed. Overall I had a great stay and highly recommend for anyone watching their budget but wanting to be in the heart of everything.

This lovely hotel is on a pedestrian side street running parallel to the harbour 20m away. The location could not be better. The staff are so helpful. Breakfast is outside at the little cafe beside the front door... We went to bed with the window open and the street was lively, we closed to the window and were in silence... The staff are so friendly and helpful, we arrived on a very early flight and our room not surprisingly was not available 9AM. They took our luggage and said they would telephone as soon as the room was ready. They did a couple hours later and we arrived back to have the room ready, our bags in it along with a small bottle of sparkling wine...
