Rongji Homestay

The Homestay has recently been renovated and the rooms are smartly presented in a modern style (I forgot to take pictures until the last day). The bathroom is small but well equipped and there is a plentiful supply of hot water. The location is quiet and within easy reach of the main attractions within the old city. It also feels safe with a locked lobby door as well as good security on the rooms. The owner is friendly and helpful although you really do need to be a Chinese speaker like my wife to communicate effectively. The only real negatives are the lack of wardrobe space, the TV projector which can only be viewed with all the lights off and the curtains drawn and the slightly irregular room cleaning/supply replenishment. Other than that well recommended.

The hotel is located conveniently near the ancient city. There is a locked door to the street, which gives a sense of safety. There is a projector for watching programs which was fun to play with. There isn’t a room service on the second day. It could be cleaner. The amenities are basic, as expected.
