My family and I popped in this evening for a quick drink which then turned into an extra one. The bar was busy and had a fantastic atmosphere the bar staff were friendly and very helpful and are a credit to the pub, we sat down in the area where the band was due to play and after a short time a male member of staff informed everyone in that area that within 30 minutes we would all have to vacate the area which wasn’t an issue he was kind and friendly about it and when the time came we found a different table. Considering we were only initially having 1 beer we ending up staying and even order some lite bites. When the food arrived it was nicely presented and was fresh and hot really tasty and we were all enjoying our bites, that’s when the only issue of the night arouse! Unfortunately one of the staff members ( very young girl possibly a waitress or a kitchen porter) came to collect our plates and picked a bowl and plate up even though we were still eating! I found her to be very rude in her manner(chewing gum and very stroppy) the way she handled herself just picking up plates and moving the side dishes to collect without a thought in her brain about the fact we were still trying to enjoy the food, I even had to ask her to put our garlic bread back down….i was taken a back and shocked. It put a little dampener on what turned out to be an unexpected but really great family night outfit us and slightly but not completely ruined our experience of the pub. We will happily return and hope to experience the great hospitality the bar servers gave us but hopefully if we eat here again the waitress will be on her night off.

Highly recommend here for very reasonably priced home cooked food. I can’t thank the staff enough for their kind service. It’s very rare nowadays to come across hospitality that actually care. We will definitely come back and keep up the good work! ☺️

Disgusting and not suitable for families. Upon booking direct with the hotel, the owner showed us the room and informed us to the room she had allocated us we wouldn’t be able to hear any noise from downstairs. This was far from the truth as we could hear every beat from the band playing downstairs. Unfortunately my son was awake until after midnight with the noise. In the meantime the fire alarm had gone off and the rooms next to us continued to party. The room itself was very smelly, the wooden bath panel was disgusting and broken. The mattress was awful. No handwash/soap was provided. Upon checkout I informed the owner about the noise, she informed me no one else had complained and she give my feedback to the owner .., although telling me she was the owner the previous day!

My husband and I fancied a night away and found the saddle inn in Chester, its Rock theme and live music while we were there was outstanding. We stayed in AC DC room and it was huge, loads of space and comfortable. The food was great, weather wasn’t good while we were there so we pretty much spent the entire night in the pub enjoying reasonably priced drinks and great atmosphere. We will definitely return next year when we come for Xmas market as the location is very central with good parking close by.

Lovely staff, nice greeting when I got there. Great room, quite big and a big comfy bed. Well looked after for breakfast which was very nice. Very close to the centre which was ideal. Has its own separate door to the rooms which made it easier to come and go as I please.

Even if you don't love music, this is a little gem hidden in the top of the bar. I stayed for one night midweek after a conference nearby. It is run by friendly people who made by later-than-expected check-in very easy, and were really helpful the morning after as I worked from the bar area for the rest of the day. The rooms are themed to certain bands - I had the KISS room- and the memorabilia was very interesting throughout the hotel. The shower was excellent and the bed really comfortable. It was a great space to relax in. I arrived on a Tuesday night, which is a quiet night for them. But, I actually liked that because their open air space outside was big and it was great sitting out late at night and having drink from the bar. It is really close to all the restaurants and bars in the centre of the city as well. Only note would be the stairs up are steep. I managed my big bag up there, some might be weary of it, though.

What an absolutely lovely place to stop. We stopped overnight at the Saddle Inn as a family while visiting Chester, everything about it was superb and I wouldn't hesitate to stop there again. Breaking it down, we are a family of four, two teenage children. We stopped in the 'Megadeth' room, its on the top floor, so quiet, and unlike most family rooms at other hotels has two full size single beds, as well as a double, and a bathroom, so no 'top and tailing' on a pokey sofa bed. The room was great, we aren't massively into rock, but it was great with quirky personal touches like drums being used as bed side tables etc. Basically a perfect family room for teenage kids. It was a Saturday, and Chester races were on in the city so very busy, we decided to eat in the bar and the food was absolutely brilliant, and at a great price, the burgers are at the point where you need a knife and fork to attack them as they won't fit in your mouth! 10/10. We then went out to the theatre so didn't get back until late, there was a live band on at the pub, a AC/DC tribute band, so not quiet! Children aren't allowed in the bar at night, but you can get a beer and take it up to your room. You could kind of vaguely hear that live music was playing, but in no way does it disturb your stop, and once the live music finished and it went back the jukebox you cant hear a thing. Finally breakfast the next day was delicious and real value for money! The staff and friendliness really make this place, why give your money to a plain boring corporate chain when there is stuff like this out there! Thanks for a great weekend and you should be proud of what you've build up!
