"The room was quite small, and the view from the window was a messy cityscape. You couldn't even see Matsuyama Castle from the room. Both the bedding and breakfast were of mediocre quality, which meant it wasn't great value for money.
However, the location was excellent. From Matsuyama Station, you can take tram line 3 or 5 to Okaido, and the hotel is just a two-minute walk from the tram stop. The hotel is surrounded by various dining options and is very close to department stores."
"A hotel that gives a 5 star feel. Warm welcoming from the moment we reach till we leave the hotel. The hotel breakfast was good too. Located within walking distance from the train station and shopping street. Overall was a wonderful experience."
"Vessel Hotel Matsuyama is conveniently located right next to Takashimaya. A special thank you to Shibagaki at the front desk for her exceptional help, which significantly enhanced my positive impression of Vessel.
I booked two superior rooms a month in advance, and the room size was very comfortable. There's also a large public bath on the 3rd floor, featuring a hot spring and a semi-outdoor warm bath. In the lobby, time-limited self-service beverages and Ehime ice cream are available (ice cream from 7 PM to 9 PM), which were a big hit with the kids. The hotel breakfast was excellent; the DIY udon noodles and five different flavors of orange juice were particularly my children's favorites.
There were many Korean tourists at the hotel, but surprisingly few Chinese guests. The Ferris wheel on the 9th floor of the adjacent Takashimaya offers a discounted price of 500 JPY if you show your passport. Additionally, Takashimaya's B1 level has a Mini One bakery with freshly baked goods that's definitely worth a try."
"Conventient location; 10 minute walk to nearest bus station, and about 30 minutes max travel time to anywhere we wanted to go!
Room was clean and compact; but the double bed is quite squeezy if you're fitting two people inside.
Buffet breakfast is 1300¥ if you inquire the day before you intend to eat. It is 1500¥ if you buy it on the day itself.
Accidentally booked a smoking room; but the staff were kind enough to change it for us once they had a room."
"The rooms weren't brand new, but they were spotlessly clean. The hotel's location is superb. There's a tram stop right outside the door, and you can reach another tram line in just 5-6 minutes on foot. Plus, the JR station is less than a 15-minute walk away. Right across the street, there's a good-sized convenience store. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in town."
"The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Dogo Onsen Honkan. You step out directly onto the shopping street, and Dogo Onsen Station is just a 3-minute walk away. There are buses to the train station, JR station, airport, and ferry terminal. The staff are very friendly and greet you every day with great enthusiasm. The breakfast is simple but nutritious. It offers great value for money and is highly recommended."
"This is a hotel with history and stories. The Japanese emperor and the great Japanese writer Natsume have stayed here. The hotel service is good and they will help deliver the luggage to the room. Check-in is at 3pm. We arrived at noon and could only go to Dogo Onsen Street for a walk and wait until after 3pm to go back to the hotel to rest. The kaiseki cuisine for dinner at the hotel is good, and the steak is very tender. There are Western and Japanese breakfast options, and we chose Japanese breakfast. The hotel's hot springs are average, on the second and third floors of the South Building, and the third floor is a cypress hot spring. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Station, which is quite close, but it is uphill from the station. We took a taxi from the hotel at Matsuyama City Station for 1,630 yen."
"Attention Henro sama! Perfect stay almost across street from T49. I had walked that day from T46. Onsen use included with hotel stay. Onsen water hot and alkaline slimy, my legs feel so much better after an evening and a morning soak. Breakfast was of wide selection, very satisfying. Stand up shower stall a bonus! Drip coffee machine in room also a nice touch. Very smart, modern hotel."
"The location is fantastic, right on the main street. You can take the airport bus directly to Mitsukoshimae. A taxi to the airport costs about 2500 yen. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, which is excellent. Express buses to places like Takamatsu leave right from the hotel entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants across the street. There's a Starbucks downstairs, and it's a maximum 10-minute walk to Saka no Ue no Kumo. The tram stop outside the hotel can take you to Dogo Onsen."
"If you're traveling with family, especially with your parents, this is a place I definitely recommend!! The size of the place is so huge that even if there's nothing nearby, just playing around inside the place is so much fun! The quality of the breakfast, dinner, and buffet is amazing... There's a massage shop, table tennis table, bar, and more, so there's nothing you can't find. The hot springs are amazing, and it was perfect to enjoy the hot springs while looking out at the forest. ㅠㅠ If I go to Matsuyama next time, this is a place I'll definitely be visiting again!!"

Great
GGuest UserAn old school ryokan on Omishima. It’s located on the other side of the main cycling trail so it takes about half an hour detour to get to the ryokan. The staff were hospitable and the meals tasted great.
TTung001This hotel is located near Dogo Onsen. Although you need to climb uphill for a while, this small inconvenience is completely made up for by the excellent hot spring facilities. The hotel's hot spring facilities are complete, the environment is clean and comfortable, and you can completely relax. From the warm reception of the service staff to the careful settings in the room, everyone feels at home. If you are looking for a truly relaxing hot spring trip, this is recommended
RR423It was nice that the inside of the building had a white-based atmosphere and was clean. At check-in, I was recommended to take a ticket for a nearby hot spring facility, but I decided to use the bath in the room.
The bathtub was deep and the bathroom itself was able to relax with a size that could not be considered in other hotels.
The room was also large and comfortable!
The wind was strong when checking out, so the front desk was worried about the wind and the response was nice
GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located at the foot of Matsuyama Castle Park. From the hotel, a convenient mountain path (walk left for a few hundred meters, then turn left again) offers a direct, pleasant 20-minute uphill walk to Matsuyama Castle, sparing you the ropeway trip. To reach the hotel from JR Matsuyama Station, take the Iyo Railway Loop Line (tram) from the front of the station (to your left after exiting) for 7 stops and alight at Shimizu-cho Station. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the station, across the street from the platform, and you can clearly see Matsuyama Castle Park from there.
While the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, they are clean and well-maintained. A great perk is the complimentary hot spring bath (onsen) available in the evening. Please note, the onsen is not in the annex building; guests need to exit the hotel and walk a short distance (a few dozen meters) to the right to the main building to access it. After a day of traveling, soaking in the hot spring is definitely a rewarding experience.
Breakfast is not included with the stay, but vouchers can be purchased at the front desk for 1000 JPY per person. Like the onsen, breakfast is served in the main building. It's a Japanese-style breakfast with a decent variety and offers good value for the price.
부부라The accommodation is very clean. The blankets were also clean. Wider than it appears in the photo. There are enough people to sleep comfortably. There is a separate shower room on the second floor, but it is not a burden because it is a private shower room. The owner and employees are all women and friendly, so I think women can use it with confidence. There seems to be only one Wi-Fi installed at the desk on the first floor, so you should assume there is no Wi-Fi. The location of the accommodation is perfect as it is less than a 5-minute walk from Dogo Onsen. The private rooms have thick walls, so the soundproofing is better than I thought.
If you can tolerate the inconvenience of having a separate shower room, this is the best value for money. Everything else was perfect. Recommended for those who want to use it cheaply.
Sshugi62The hotel room is quite large. Although the equipment is a bit old, the transportation is convenient. There is a shopping mall opposite where you can buy fresh food and lunch boxes. The taxi ride to the station does not cost more than 1,000 yen. We stayed here and went to the next one. Watch the sunset at the beach 🌅 We also took a taxi to Dogo Onsen to soak in the hot springs. Although it is difficult to complete these attractions in one day, we took advantage of the taxi to overlook Matsuyama Castle and took photos as a souvenir. We will slowly visit Matsuyama Castle next time Play.
DDayexiaotiqinVery close to Songshan City, the next door seems to be a karaoke, but no one sings at 11:30 in the evening.
The room setting is old. If you live in the last room like us, because it is directly connected to the total sewer, the smell of the sewer in the bathroom will come up and it will be stinky.
Although the corners of the sheets are slightly yellowed, it is old and caused by the fact that they are all very clean.
The grandmother who cleaned the room, the grandfather at the front desk, this seems to be a family operation. Very friendly, I hope you don't be too harsh with the elderly.
GGuest UserThe most satisfying hotel in Japan has a Japanese-style room. The Japanese-style room also has a separate bathroom. Sleeping is very comfortable. The service is very good. Very patient. The English communication is also smooth. The hotel also has drinks to provide until 10 pm. The orange juice is delicious. The breakfast is delicious.
GGuest UserIf you're a foreigner you might have some troubles communicating but the staffs will do their best so no worries.
The hotel is a bit on the old side but overall still great. If you bring a car then parking is next to the hotel at 900 yen per night.
