"This hotel is one of the three hotels. The reception is located at Hotel Rocamar, which is quite far. The room is spacious with a kitchenette, but the decor is a little simple and old-fashioned . The balcony is huge with a sea view. There is a hotel private parking area that costs 7.50 euros per night. Otherwise there are free parking on the street which is hard to find and paid parking which is free at night. The gym, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room are free of charge m, but they close at 6 pm, which is quite inconvenient. There are also many restaurants inside, which you choose to include with the room. I overheard that they did program for Christmas and New Year. It is perfect for those who just want to stay in the resort and not to go around the island."

"Bardzo dobry tani hotel. Położony w pobliżu lotniska, przystanek autobusowy naprzeciwko hotelu. Można dojechać do centrum Funchal, a stamtąd w innym kierunku. Śniadanie za małą dopłatą, jak dla mnie smaczne - tzw kontynentalne, ale każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie. Można dokupić obiady za 25€/os. Basen wewnętrzny i zewnętrzny. Bar koło basenu, ręczniki kąpielowe przy barze. Pokoje czyste i komfortowe, obsługa miła i pomocna. Jeżeli będę wracał na Maderę z pewnością wybiorę ten hotel. Klimatyzacja w pokoju, choć nie używałem. Mogę z pewnością polecić ten hotel."

"Hotel Review – Royal Orchid We had a lovely stay at the Royal Orchid. The hotel is beautiful, and our room offered a wonderful partial sea view with palm trees and the ocean in sight — truly relaxing. However, there is room for improvement, especially regarding breakfast. Many items were processed, such as canned pineapple and artificial juices, which did not meet our expectations for freshness and quality. The cleaningservice was was great, the overal service from receptuon was disappointing. The hotel enforces very strict rules, and the staff applies them even more rigidly. At times, it felt more like being in a school than on vacation. We would have appreciated a more customer-oriented and flexible approach, especially in a leisure setting. However we enjoyed our stay, the room and the spa."

"This hotel was a huge disappointment. I have no idea how it got a 4-star rating. On the positive side, the view is lovely, and the room was clean (apart from the ants everywhere). The staff answered questions, breakfast was decent, and the gym was incredibly well-equipped, though I couldn't use it because the ventilation was completely non-existent. I felt like I'd pass out after just 10 minutes of checking out the equipment. As for the negatives: the room lacked basic amenities (only soap was provided). If you go to reception and ask for anything, they'll send you to the gym where you can get slippers for 5 euros a day. On the first night, the air conditioning wasn't cooling, and despite it being January, it was incredibly stuffy. There were ants all over the room, even in the fridge. Check-in was a nightmare – if you arrive by car and park in the always-full lot in front of the hotel to unload your luggage, the staff won't allow it, let alone offer to help. They told me I could only leave the car for 5 minutes while they processed papers, but wouldn't let me take my bags to the room, nor did they offer to have hotel staff bring them up while I looked for parking. They told me to leave my belongings in the lobby and go find paid parking wherever I could. They gave me a confusing parking map that was impossible to decipher in a second, and said the nearest parking was by a shop, where there were no free spots. I ended up driving around the area. They never mentioned the parking on the other side of the hotel, which offers easy access directly to the lifts. So, if you decide to stay here, there are both free and paid parking spots down the street to the right of the hotel (the paid parking is cheap)."

"Fantastic hotel! Location right by the ocean, free shuttle bus to the center of Funchal, ala carte themed restaurant, delicious food - varied and a lot of seafood, all inclusive works flawlessly - I don't know which sangria is better red or white. Rooms spotlessly clean functional large bathroom. In the evening, animations including Portuguese folklore - I greet Filip from the reception who stole the show :) Service at the highest level - If Madeira is for sure RIU. The view from the restaurant from the terrace is great. Not far from the hotel at the end of the boardwalk, you can go up the cliff off the trail."
