"It was a somewhat unsatisfactory stay. At night, a strong sewer smell came up from the bathroom, which was very uncomfortable. There were also several small maintenance issues throughout the room. For example, the wardrobe hinge was detached, the toilet paper holder wasn’t properly fixed and kept hanging down, the soap holder in the shower wasn’t secure so anything placed on it would fall, and the towel rack was loose, causing the towels to slip off constantly.
The hair dryer was broken, so I requested a repair in the morning, but it still wasn’t fixed by the evening. They said it would be repaired the next day, but I declined and asked for a replacement instead. However, the replacement hair dryer was the type that should be mounted on a wall bracket, and because the bracket wasn’t fixed in place, I had to lift the entire unit, including the mount, while drying my hair. This was very inconvenient."
"The location of the hotel is the best! It is walking distance from the metro and from a well-known food market. The streets surrounding the hotel are packed with stores and restaurantes and easily connect to the iconic places (check out the pictures I attached). Let`s not forget the stunning mosaic-ornated church that faces the hotel. I strongly recommend it."
"The hotel is brand new, with excellent rooms and very friendly front desk staff. While it's a bit far from the city center, its convenient location near the metro station, train station, and bus stop for adjacent towns means this isn't much of a downside. Most city attractions are easily accessible within 40 minutes by metro. When returning to the hotel by metro, I highly recommend alighting directly at Campanhã station. I once tried getting off at another nearby metro station, but the walk back to the hotel involved navigating through winding, narrow alleyways, which felt a bit unsettling. From Campanhã, it's simply a straight, easy walk back."
"Very nice, new hotel, located a 15-minute drive from the airport and a 12-minute walk from the metro. A large shopping center is nearby (5-10 minutes on foot) and the FC Porto stadium.
The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and well-decorated. The setting is pleasant. The breakfast buffet is very good, with a sweet and savory selection.
If you're arriving by plane and carrying large suitcases, it's best to take an Uber; it's easier as the streets are steep and cobblestone."
"Easily accessible from Campanhã Bus Terminal by taking bus 207 or 400; fare is €2.50 per person and very convenient.
Most major tourist attractions are within walking distance.
The room itself was clean and tidy, equipped with both heating and air conditioning. Hairdryer is available upon request from the front desk.
The shared kitchen allows guests to boil water or prepare instant noodles and hot drinks.
Soundproofing was not ideal, but fortunately, other guests were quiet during our stay.
The location is not near any bars, so there was no disturbance from nightlife—only occasional street or traffic noise. Overall, the environment was relatively quiet."
"A surprisingly unexpected gem of a hotel! Especially the top-floor rooms – standing on the terrace, you get panoramic views of Porto and stunning sunrises and sunsets. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and equipped with new and complete facilities. The casual dining in the downstairs restaurant is also delicious. Parking is incredibly convenient, with a public parking lot right next to the hotel at a very low cost. Highly recommend this great value-for-money hotel, especially for those traveling by car."
"What a unique concept of a hotel. I really enjoyed my first experience in a Zero Hotel. The rooms are small, but it’s meant for you to get out of your box and explore the area! Towels were soft, bed was comfortable, and the breakfast is well worth it. My only suggestion would be to address some of the rusting metal in the bathroom — I know the look is rustic, but the parts rusting were not part of the “look.” The location is great—you’re very close to all the touristy things but a little removed from the main streets. Friendly check-in staff."
"The description of the room indicated that there was a parking - in fact it is not and there is no parking near the hotel. It is proposed to put the car on a paid parking in the Ibis hotel - about 10 minutes walk and with suitcases is not very convenient
There is a kitchen and dishes on the territory of the hotel (hostels) where you can heat and cook food
At the entrance of the hotel very large staircase"
"Excellent service, the head receptionist was extremely friendly and ready to solve the problem we had because we had reserved a double bed and were assigned a room with twin beds. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and I wrote in the reservation that if possible they could decorate the room, but we didn't find anything prepared, I was a little disappointed. However, I must highlight the excellent cleanliness, everything was perfectly clean and tidy! (I found it a bit intriguing that the bathrooms didn't have toilets.)
The bar service on the rooftop was excellent. Congratulations, one of the best mojitos I've ever had!!!
Great breakfast with lots of variety and great quantity. I think only the breakfast layout could be better because almost twice I was going to spill the orange juice due to there being little space for people to move around in the hallway."
"Although the hotel is not located in the heart of the city centre, but it is not far either on foot or taxi, with good value for money.
The room is spacious and very clean with welcoming and leaving notes, adding the warmth to the stay.
The staff are friendly and helpful with first-timer's questions.
The roof-top bar is rather small and strangely located, as I have to come down to the reception and go back up the other lift.
All in all, it has been and amazing stay in the lovely town."

Amazing
AAnonymous UserAmazing hotel located away from the centre but near the Metro.
Beautiful decor and furnishings. Rooms were luxurious, and well equipped.
The staff at reception were super helpful and courteous.
One of the advantages is that the hotel provide a free airport shuttle. Mine was in a Tesla X with white leather seats. Just email your flight details to the hotel prior to arrival.
Although away from the centre I preferred the location as it had more local restaurants nearby. Try the Francesinha Cafe which is a 5 minute walk away
The nearest Metro is Marques which is a 5 minute walk.
Would definitely return.
GGuest UserOur family reserved 3 rooms and arrived on a very early flight . Jose was kind enough to get 1 of our rooms ready within an hour so we could at least wash up, rest for a bit, and refresh before going out for the day. He continued to take care of us throughout our stay with anything we needed, while being extremely kind and personal. He is an excellent representative of the quality and care the hotel offers. We also liked the ambiance of the hotel. It was nicely lit and decorated in a fun, eclectic, and relaxing fashion. Our room rate included the breakfast which was an amazing spread with much variety, highly recommend. Location was central, easy walking distance everywhere. Small disappoin**ent was lack of gym. I know we walk around alot but it would’ve nice to have the option as my husband and son like to exercise quite a bit. In addition, the TV lounge room which can be nice for teenagers/kids to use while waiting for our rooms to be ready was rather plain in terms of interior design, just gray concrete walls, as opposed to the interesting and colorful designs of the rest of the hotel. This is just an observation, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.
GGuest UserA decent hotel but was disappointed that on arrival I paid an additional 30 Euros for a room with a balcony, its a pity I was informed that they expected it to rain for the whole duration of my stay, I unfortunately couldnt use the balcony at any point due to it being wet all he time, what a waste of money!!!!!
Ssunju.imThe suite was so nice, spacious with sunlight coming in. The owner was so lovely - we needed to check in early and he came to personally helped us out and gave us recommendation to a restaurant nearby (which turned out to have amazing food!!)
It was so nice of them to have our baggage carried upstairs while readying the room.
The bathroom was so clean, couch and bed were very comfortable.
Area is very trendy artsy area and felt quite local which I absolutely loved. I really wish I stayed longer (I kept saying I’d totally come stay here for a whole month if I could). Honestly had such a great time and I will definitely come back if I’m back in Porto (and recommend to all my friends in Lisbon to come stay here as well!)
AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The location is excellent – it’s within walking distance to all the main attractions and just a 2-minute walk from the metro station, which made getting around the city incredibly convenient.
The cleanliness was impressive. Both the common areas and the room were spotless. The shared spaces were spacious, bright, and comfortable, offering a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing.
My room was very quiet, ensuring a good night’s sleep, and the staff were super friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
Overall, this is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at – I highly recommend it!
JJinwooOne of the Best Serviced Apartments We’ve Stayed At
This was easily the best serviced apartment we’ve stayed at recently. All the facilities were brand new, and the cleanliness—especially in the kitchen and bathroom—surpassed even some 4-star hotels. Everything we needed was provided, and the interior design was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. Great location, great price, great amenities.
Here are a few potential downsides that might matter to some guests:
• The internet was very slow. The Wi-Fi signal on the second floor was the strongest, so we used that, but it was barely sufficient for even checking emails. It felt as if the connection was intentionally throttled. If you need stable internet for work, tethering through your phone might actually be faster.
• No elevator. Our unit was located on the second floor, and we had to carry about 30kg of luggage up the stairs ourselves. Even a small, old-fashioned lift would have been a huge help.
• Noise from upstairs. Although the apartment was newly renovated, the flooring is still the original wooden structure, so noise from the upper floor can be heard. We were tired enough to sleep through it with earplugs, but sensitive guests should take this into account. Booking the top-floor unit might solve this issue, though that means climbing even more stairs.
• Early check-in confusion. We had requested an early check-in, but it wasn’t communicated properly. As a result, we had to drop off our luggage at the YOUROPO office, which is about a 6–7 minute walk from the apartment. I wonder if we could’ve left our luggage directly at the property if the message had gone through properly—perhaps someone from the team could clarify?
Despite these minor issues, I would still give this property a full 5 stars. If we visit Porto again, YOUROPO will be at the top of our list.
KKisanpi35' walk from the center, there are places around where you can park for free. Modern shops and bars area
Comfortable bed, good temperature. Well soundproofed with the window closed.
Very good and complete buffet breakfast.
NNanfuliangyetingzhangerMy first night in a hotel in Europe. It was noisy, the transportation was more convenient, and the room was smaller. It was similar to a Japanese hotel.
CCiptaningrumWe booked a junior suite and asked to be put on a high floor. However, we got assigned the ground floor room facing the inner courtyard, making the room quite dark. And the lighting inside the room did not help either since most of the lights were directed light. We have asked for a change of room but was told its not available. The room is on the ground floor close to the lobby and the restaurant. When we asked to change the room, I have expressed my concern that it would be noisy and the front desk agent assured me that it would not be the case. Then on New Year's Eve, they have a party in the restaurant with very loud music. And the sound obviously leaked into our room, and the party lasted till the small hours.
The selection of food items at breakfast is quite limited. Its really quite mediocre compared with other hotels in this category. The only saving grace for this hotel is its location.
EEmilyI recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks.
First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked.
One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature.
On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay.
In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.
