"Location is excellent. Walk to many places in 10-20 mins. Room is clean, spacious and shower is fantastic. Bed is super comfy too. Just make sure you have a room not facing the main road then it’s even better. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again next time in Porto."
"Really nice hostel located in really the central part of Porto. Really easy to go everywhere from there. Just be aware that it’s on the bottom of everything so you’ll have to climb to go everywhere if not by cab. The room was really nice and had their own bathroom and shower. Would go again if I ever do a solo trip there"
"The hotel location, price, service, condition, etc. were all satisfactory.
It seems like a place that not many Koreans come to~ There are two elevators
There is no microwave or coffee pot in the room, but if you go to the restaurant on the first floor, you can heat up rice and get hot water for cup ramen
Above all, the hotel is located in a place where you can easily access all of Porto. There is a cafe in front of the hotel, a place where you can busk and have a light beer, and even a brunch shop in the gift shop~~
It is also good value for money~^^
You can walk from Sao Bento Station
There is also a self-service laundromat nearby, so I did some laundry in between.
Here are photos of the laundromat and the front of the hotel."
"The hotel is brand new, with excellent rooms and very friendly front desk staff. While it's a bit far from the city center, its convenient location near the metro station, train station, and bus stop for adjacent towns means this isn't much of a downside. Most city attractions are easily accessible within 40 minutes by metro. When returning to the hotel by metro, I highly recommend alighting directly at Campanhã station. I once tried getting off at another nearby metro station, but the walk back to the hotel involved navigating through winding, narrow alleyways, which felt a bit unsettling. From Campanhã, it's simply a straight, easy walk back."
"The hotel is probably one of the best in Porto. Unfortunately the online experience had not been pleasant. I realised that I booked a non cancellation stay in advance prior to my trip. When my trip was changed and my Porto is extended from 3 nights to 5 nights. I asked both the agent (Trip/Expedia) and Iater through the hotel for modification of the dates. They refused after several tries. In the end, we decided to forgo one night due to change in air ticket and stayed for the duration of our stay. The remaining nights at Porto. We decided to defer to another hotel. If the hospitality service can be better we would have stay there throughout. This is unfortunate coming from highly recognised hotel here."
"Although the hotel is not located in the heart of the city centre, but it is not far either on foot or taxi, with good value for money.
The room is spacious and very clean with welcoming and leaving notes, adding the warmth to the stay.
The staff are friendly and helpful with first-timer's questions.
The roof-top bar is rather small and strangely located, as I have to come down to the reception and go back up the other lift.
All in all, it has been and amazing stay in the lovely town."
"This hotel in Porto, Portugal has a very good location and is very close to the train station. It is also very close to nearby attractions, such as the very famous Lai Luo Bookstore. The hotel rooms are also of very high quality and the hotel will give you free snacks food, but you have to wait for a long time. The hotel staff is very friendly. We will tell you in detail how to get to those attractions. The hotel itself has a restaurant that also serves Western food. The Christmas tree in the hotel lobby is also very beautiful."

Amazing
AAnonymous UserAmazing hotel located away from the centre but near the Metro.
Beautiful decor and furnishings. Rooms were luxurious, and well equipped.
The staff at reception were super helpful and courteous.
One of the advantages is that the hotel provide a free airport shuttle. Mine was in a Tesla X with white leather seats. Just email your flight details to the hotel prior to arrival.
Although away from the centre I preferred the location as it had more local restaurants nearby. Try the Francesinha Cafe which is a 5 minute walk away
The nearest Metro is Marques which is a 5 minute walk.
Would definitely return.
GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment.
Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately.
The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied.
The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too.
Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out.
The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.
GGuest UserOur family reserved 3 rooms and arrived on a very early flight . Jose was kind enough to get 1 of our rooms ready within an hour so we could at least wash up, rest for a bit, and refresh before going out for the day. He continued to take care of us throughout our stay with anything we needed, while being extremely kind and personal. He is an excellent representative of the quality and care the hotel offers. We also liked the ambiance of the hotel. It was nicely lit and decorated in a fun, eclectic, and relaxing fashion. Our room rate included the breakfast which was an amazing spread with much variety, highly recommend. Location was central, easy walking distance everywhere. Small disappoin**ent was lack of gym. I know we walk around alot but it would’ve nice to have the option as my husband and son like to exercise quite a bit. In addition, the TV lounge room which can be nice for teenagers/kids to use while waiting for our rooms to be ready was rather plain in terms of interior design, just gray concrete walls, as opposed to the interesting and colorful designs of the rest of the hotel. This is just an observation, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.
GGuest UserVery good hotel, but you had to ask for a toothbrush when normally hotels provide them without being asked. Be careful, the hotel records your credit card and will still charge you 3€ without your consent + the tourist tax, while in other 5 star hotels they don't do this.
JJinwooOne of the Best Serviced Apartments We’ve Stayed At
This was easily the best serviced apartment we’ve stayed at recently. All the facilities were brand new, and the cleanliness—especially in the kitchen and bathroom—surpassed even some 4-star hotels. Everything we needed was provided, and the interior design was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. Great location, great price, great amenities.
Here are a few potential downsides that might matter to some guests:
• The internet was very slow. The Wi-Fi signal on the second floor was the strongest, so we used that, but it was barely sufficient for even checking emails. It felt as if the connection was intentionally throttled. If you need stable internet for work, tethering through your phone might actually be faster.
• No elevator. Our unit was located on the second floor, and we had to carry about 30kg of luggage up the stairs ourselves. Even a small, old-fashioned lift would have been a huge help.
• Noise from upstairs. Although the apartment was newly renovated, the flooring is still the original wooden structure, so noise from the upper floor can be heard. We were tired enough to sleep through it with earplugs, but sensitive guests should take this into account. Booking the top-floor unit might solve this issue, though that means climbing even more stairs.
• Early check-in confusion. We had requested an early check-in, but it wasn’t communicated properly. As a result, we had to drop off our luggage at the YOUROPO office, which is about a 6–7 minute walk from the apartment. I wonder if we could’ve left our luggage directly at the property if the message had gone through properly—perhaps someone from the team could clarify?
Despite these minor issues, I would still give this property a full 5 stars. If we visit Porto again, YOUROPO will be at the top of our list.
AadyanisI stayed at this hotel for one night as a quick stopover, and it was perfect for my needs. The hotel is situated right across from the beautiful Crystal Palace Garden and is easily walkable to numerous great local spots. I was also impressed by the staff's thoughtfulness. They proactively sent me a list of recommended local eateries and quickly responded to my questions before I arrived. My room was comfortable and well-equipped. I appreciated having an adjustable air conditioner and a nice, hot shower. They also provided free snacks, a coffee machine, and thoughtful additions like books and board games in the common area.
It is important to know that this is a renovated building that preserves its original features. While this adds to its charm, it means there is no elevator. I was lucky to book a ground-floor room, which I strongly recommend if mobility is an issue or if you have heavy luggage. As is common with older architecture, the sound insulation isn't the best. I didn't find it overly bothersome in my room, but sensitive sleepers should be aware.
In my opinion the hotel offers excellent value for money and a genuine experience.
NNanfuliangyetingzhangerMy first night in a hotel in Europe. It was noisy, the transportation was more convenient, and the room was smaller. It was similar to a Japanese hotel.
__WeChat48759****Overall very satisfied. The room is fully equipped and clean. The washbasin is very unique, and the wet and dry bathrooms are separated. From the hotel lobby, you can walk directly to the food court next door. Next to it is the bus station, and the taxi station is a five-minute walk away. It takes at least half an hour to walk to the attractions, so it is recommended to take a taxi.
CCiptaningrumWe booked a junior suite and asked to be put on a high floor. However, we got assigned the ground floor room facing the inner courtyard, making the room quite dark. And the lighting inside the room did not help either since most of the lights were directed light. We have asked for a change of room but was told its not available. The room is on the ground floor close to the lobby and the restaurant. When we asked to change the room, I have expressed my concern that it would be noisy and the front desk agent assured me that it would not be the case. Then on New Year's Eve, they have a party in the restaurant with very loud music. And the sound obviously leaked into our room, and the party lasted till the small hours.
The selection of food items at breakfast is quite limited. Its really quite mediocre compared with other hotels in this category. The only saving grace for this hotel is its location.
EEmilyI recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks.
First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked.
One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature.
On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay.
In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.
