"We absolutely loved this place. Great location. Short walk to tons of restaurants, beautiful parks. The room was much bigger than we expected. Three double doors open to the front of the building. A narrow balcony. Lots of day light and fresh air. Noise from the street but we don’t mind city noise. Excellent bathroom with a nice shower. Charming building and decor. Espresso machine in the stairwell that we really appreciated. Attentive staff. Would definitely stay again. So comfortable."

"It's well located. There are many tourist attractions nearby. The standard room is very small. Just enough room to move around and leave suitcases on the floor. There's no furniture other than the bed and nightstands. You can hear every sound from the neighboring rooms. If you arrive for the first time after 4 pm, there's no one at reception... But don't despair: they leave your key on the counter, but the only problem is that you have to wait outside for a guest to arrive before you can get in. Another important detail is that there is NO elevator, and since it's an old building, the stairs to each floor cost two! There are no rooms on the ground floor."

Vignette Collection Casa Da Companhia Hotel & Spa by IHG

This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the old town. The building itself, according to the hotel's description, dates back to the 16th century. It's truly a unique experience to stay in such a historically rich setting while enjoying modern minimalist decor, especially given its superb location in the old town's core. What particularly stood out was the hotel's pool, which directly overlooks Porto Cathedral – an absolutely unforgettable sight.

I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was hands down the best decision of my entire trip to Porto. If any of my friends or family visit Porto, I would literally force them to book this place. If you are debating between this and a slightly cheaper, mediocre hotel, do yourself a favor and choose this residence. It offers absolute value for money. 1. Unbeatable Location The location is incredible—literally right next to São Bento Station. If you walk down the slope right across the street, you end up right under the Dom Luís I Bridge. If you walk up the slope to the left, you can reach Jardim do Morro in just about 8 minutes. Having the metro station right outside means you can easily get anywhere, whether it’s Rua de Santa Catarina or the Gaia district. It was so convenient that I could visit a tourist spot, come back to the room for a quick nap, and head out again for evening sightseeing. 2. Excellent Room Condition & Value The condition of the residence is top-notch. Instead of spending money on an awkwardly priced, lower-quality hotel, staying here gives you premium comfort for an amazing price. It is truly the perfect budget-friendly luxury. 3. Fantastic Amenities (Washing Machine & Cooktop) Whether Porto is your first stop or you are coming from Lisbon, you’ll eventually need to do laundry or crave some comfort food. The room comes equipped with a washing machine and an induction cooktop. It was amazing to be able to do my piled-up laundry and cook some ramen after buying groceries at the supermarket. This feature alone makes it a must-stay destination during your journey. [Conclusion] This place is flawless in terms of location, price, and convenience. Don't hesitate—just book it. You won't regret it!

Our family reserved 3 rooms and arrived on a very early flight . Jose was kind enough to get 1 of our rooms ready within an hour so we could at least wash up, rest for a bit, and refresh before going out for the day. He continued to take care of us throughout our stay with anything we needed, while being extremely kind and personal. He is an excellent representative of the quality and care the hotel offers. We also liked the ambiance of the hotel. It was nicely lit and decorated in a fun, eclectic, and relaxing fashion. Our room rate included the breakfast which was an amazing spread with much variety, highly recommend. Location was central, easy walking distance everywhere. Small disappoin**ent was lack of gym. I know we walk around alot but it would’ve nice to have the option as my husband and son like to exercise quite a bit. In addition, the TV lounge room which can be nice for teenagers/kids to use while waiting for our rooms to be ready was rather plain in terms of interior design, just gray concrete walls, as opposed to the interesting and colorful designs of the rest of the hotel. This is just an observation, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.

Very good hotel, but you had to ask for a toothbrush when normally hotels provide them without being asked. Be careful, the hotel records your credit card and will still charge you 3€ without your consent + the tourist tax, while in other 5 star hotels they don't do this.

Menina Colina Guesthouse

Last year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment. Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately. The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied. The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too. Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out. The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

One of the Best Serviced Apartments We’ve Stayed At This was easily the best serviced apartment we’ve stayed at recently. All the facilities were brand new, and the cleanliness—especially in the kitchen and bathroom—surpassed even some 4-star hotels. Everything we needed was provided, and the interior design was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. Great location, great price, great amenities. Here are a few potential downsides that might matter to some guests: • The internet was very slow. The Wi-Fi signal on the second floor was the strongest, so we used that, but it was barely sufficient for even checking emails. It felt as if the connection was intentionally throttled. If you need stable internet for work, tethering through your phone might actually be faster. • No elevator. Our unit was located on the second floor, and we had to carry about 30kg of luggage up the stairs ourselves. Even a small, old-fashioned lift would have been a huge help. • Noise from upstairs. Although the apartment was newly renovated, the flooring is still the original wooden structure, so noise from the upper floor can be heard. We were tired enough to sleep through it with earplugs, but sensitive guests should take this into account. Booking the top-floor unit might solve this issue, though that means climbing even more stairs. • Early check-in confusion. We had requested an early check-in, but it wasn’t communicated properly. As a result, we had to drop off our luggage at the YOUROPO office, which is about a 6–7 minute walk from the apartment. I wonder if we could’ve left our luggage directly at the property if the message had gone through properly—perhaps someone from the team could clarify? Despite these minor issues, I would still give this property a full 5 stars. If we visit Porto again, YOUROPO will be at the top of our list.

The least you expect from a five star hotel was a good service and cleanlinless. We stayed here for 5 nights and they did not change our bedsheet even though it was written that they will change it every 3 days, no refill of water, no refill of tissues and coffee and tea we had to request it. There’s a small cockroach in the bathtub. At the front desk they don’t even greet you whenever you passby I am not being entitled that I should be greeted I just compare it to other hotel where they always smile. It’s hard to call the front desk sometimes it will take 5 minutes.  On the positive side the food in the restaurant was really good and the drinks at the bar those who are working there was really nice and attentive too. I’d like to commend also Fabrizio who always smile and who helps us with our luggage when we check in and check out.

Lovely apartment, but has some niggling things which could be improved. However, one thing I imagine can’t be improved is the amount of natural sunlight coming in. I stayed in building 339, floor 3 apartment 10. The windows are either too small to let much light in, or it’s facing another side of the building into someone else’s apartment. When I first entered, I also had 6 different flies of all sizes in the kitchen area. When I queried about this, it’s apparently an issue in the warmer seasons. I didn’t let these flies in, so they must have been let in when cleaning the apartment. The other issue was, the floors weren’t cleaned very well with crumbs in corners. However, the bedding and towels smelt lovely and were clean. I would have liked flatter pillows, the once they have are way too high and caused neck pains, but this seems to be a thing in Portugal as other places I’ve stayed have a similar setting. The shower has no proper seal to stop water from flooding the bathroom floor, other than a piece of silicone strip on the shower floor, but it wasn’t sealed down so it was pointless. If you’re a light sleeper, it’s generally very quiet but I had an issue with neighbouring apartments with someone walking around with heels and shoes. They provide slippers! Please use them to not disturb others. Overall, a good stay and location.

A very strange hotel. On the plus side, there's air conditioning, clean linens, and toiletries. A pleasant woman from Colombia at the front desk. On the minus side, there's no elevator, so if you're carrying heavy bags, you'll have to go up as you please. We had room 9, and the bathroom and the room are the same thing. It feels like you're sleeping in the bathroom. I was with my husband, who obviously knows me, but I still felt uncomfortable going to the bathroom. There are mirrors all around, and even if you don't want anyone to see you, excuse the expression, pooping, they'll still see you. So, couples on a romantic trip shouldn't be here, only seasoned married couples. The leatherette bed wasn't exactly fresh and had holes in it. Early check-in wasn't allowed.
