Just returned having spent Christmas week at the hotel (22nd to 29th Dec) on an All Inclusive package. Hotel staff, in particular the catering, restaurant and entertainment teams were first class, always helpful, friendly and polite. The heated pool was a treat and we used it daily, the resort temperature averaged between 23 and 26 degrees, plenty warm enough for shorts and sunbathing but the unheated pools were cold and we didn’t ever see anyone in them. We did see people swim in the sea daily. The hotel made a great effort on Christmas Day some staff were dressed up and the restaurant in the evening was presented to an excellent standard. The evening entertainment was generally good with the exception of Christmas Day evening where a heavy rock band was clearly the wrong choice for both the day and the clientele who were generally of an older demographic. We along with other guests were also a little disgruntled at having to pay a minimum of €30 (for a €5 bottle of wine) to secure a table for the entertainment having already paid a considerable sum for an all inclusive holiday. Especially as one of us is a non drinker, the hotel clearly needs to consider/remember that not all guests want/need bottles of alcohol. It was frustrating that sunbeds were often reserved in the mornings by 9am despite the hotel having a policy they could not be reserved before 10am. This rule needs to be enforced consistently to be effective. We were on the 7th floor in a superior sea view room with a great view of the beach though we were subject to a lot of noise late at night from the neighbouring bars. The safety deposit box was included for this room type as well as bath robes and slippers plus a small fridge with a minibar including water which was replenished daily. On arrival our room had been specially decorated plus a small gift to celebrate our anniversary, thank you! As others have said the lifts could be busy at meal times but we never waited too long. We enjoyed Mike’s coffee shop, using it daily but this did often involve a long wait as it was only ever manned by one member of staff. The pool bar was also often busy but the one round the corner by the pool table was often quieter. We were impressed with the staff in the Teide bar in the evenings - it was clear that the manager was ensuring that the waiting staff were both taking orders and delivering drinks promptly. Food was good, we mainly used the buffet restaurant where there was always a wide choice which was always kept fully stocked. No one would go hungry here! We were also able to use the el Mirador restaurant at lunchtimes with table service. Booking a time slot for dinner at the buffet restaurant attempted to prevent overcrowding but it was still often busy at peak periods. This was managed as well as it could be by the hard working restaurant staff. We were entitled to one meal at the a la carte Italian restaurant which was also good. In summary, a great hotel with good food,

Stayed at the hotel, room 624 (superior double with sea view). The upgrades in my opinion are not worth the money, you are paying hundreds of pounds more for a sea view, bath robes and coffee machine, now if that’s your thing, crack on, but I can think of better ways to utilise £500+. My room (624) had some mould on the ceiling in the bathroom, the shower dipped and the bathroom sink was extremely stiff, along with wall paper peeling at the right side of the bed. All things in a 4* hotel easily maintainable and should be fixed/monitored. I would not recommend dining in the Italian or Asian restaurant if you have a food allergy or intolerance. I made a booking with a clear note of lactose intolerance and also displayed the card given to me by the hotel. I was presented with an appetiser platter which had Parmesan cheese, given the wrong starter with cheese, and also encouraged to have more Parmesan on my main meal. A good job I’m intolerant and not allergic. Bring all inclusive (paying a lot of money) means all your food or drink is included right? Not ok Xmas day nighttime, the hotel had people standing in queues for over 1 hour to retrieve gala tickets (free for AI) but then to watch the event entertainment (rock and roll, not suitable for the clientele in the hotel) you had to pay for bottles to secure a table, a dam right outrage. There was also an occasion around 7-8pm on 28th December when two children were in the lobby of the hotel, the hotel is strictly for over 18’s which is what people pay for, in clear view with no apprehensions made from the staff the children very obviously were wondering round the lobby looking at the decorations, whilst this only occurred for 5 minutes or so, it would have been nice to see the staff stepping in to defend the adults only nature of the hotel. Apart from several points made above, the hotel is very nice, having stayed here several times before. I would hope these comments are taken strongly on board to improve others stays, nevertheless don’t let this put you off, the hotel is very nice. The staff are friendly. There are just some points in my opinion for a 4* where the service is considerably lacking compared to my previous stays. Happy holidays.

Just had 11 days here with their Privilege Package. Room was modern, although tired in places but with a fabulous sea view and kept spotless. The privilege package gave us access to a lounge with branded alcohol and snacks up to 21.00 and a dedicated sun terrace with hot tub and very comfortable sun loungers. Friendly staff came round with water, fruit skewers and afternoon Sangria or punch. We were also able to take breakfast and dinner at the a la carte El Mirador restaurant which was perfect for us. The team led by Mateo were professional and friendly. The lifts were very poor, often waited 15-20 mins to get a lift to / from 9th floor at breakfast and evening times. It’s a competent 4* offering but nothing exciting. Would we go back, yes as it worked for us but have stayed in similar 4* hotels that just offered more.
