Stayed 2 nights at Ellen’s castle. Rooms are dated but it was lovely and clean. We eat there both nights and the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend the garlic mushrooms as a starter absolutely delicious. Adam the owner was very friendly and very accommodating, his wife Helen on the other hand very rude. When we paid she just told us how much it was and pointed the card machine at us , no did you have a nice time or thank you…. She was just as rude when serving the breakfast. It’s clear she has enough of been part of the business but it’s not the customers fault, by the way are paying customers. Such a shame because I would have gone back but not after the way Helen treated us.

The location is great, so close to walks and picture postcard views. Parking is ample opposite the hotel. Inside the accommodation looks a little tired. The rooms too. The beds were very un comfortable, with the springs making it a bad night's sleep. All in all we had a lovely break in North Wales, but wish we had spent a little more or done more research on we're to stay.

Lovely place and lovely hosts, looked after us well (we were the only people staying there) and were always on hand to answer our questions!

Had a meal in the restaurant - and were the only table, which is not the most encouraging of signs, but it was mid-week. Could well be that the restaurant is packed to the rafters at weekends. Meal was definitely over-priced for what it was. Had an inkling that the vegetables were frozen as they were tasteless. Unfortunately didn't leave this establishment thinking (a) I had enjoyed a well-cooked meal and (b) the food was good value for money.

WARNING DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Absolutely disgusting customer service towards my family. I had travelled 4 hours to Snowdonia with my 12 week old baby to have a relaxing few days away in the mountains but this was quickly turned into a nightmare by the hotel landlady. Her behaviour was ********* and she really shouldn’t be in the hospitality business. I complained about the state of my room as it had brown marks all over the walls and just felt dirty. When questioned about the state of the room she was very standoffish and said you can have another room or check out, which is the most obscene thing to say to someone staying at your hotel! I asked my partner to go look at the other room but he didn’t even get that far as the lady just kicked off and said we weren’t allowed to stay there and went screaming to her husband to get rid of us. I’m glad she did as she did us a favour, I would not want to breathe the same toxic air as her!! Iv never been treated so badly or stayed in a hotel that was so filthy in my life and especially with a new born baby.
