This hotel was chosen because of the online reviews and the fact that we wanted a more authentic experience. But it left much to be desired. The front desk staff were not hospitality quality. They were rude and curt. Staffing seemed low. The room we had had a hole in the floor that was covered up by the rug. The room was not as advertised and was dingy and small. We asked for a top sheet for our bed and was presented with one that clearly had a tear in it that was glued together with a black glue. That was just unacceptable. We did speak with the manager who told us that they were having trouble keeping staff and were planning a major renovation this coming year. She was very understanding but we canceled our second night and stayed at the Camden Court Hotel. What a difference. I would caution anyone to stay there until renovations were completed. Very disappointed.

As a weekly visitor to Buswells to meet friends I have found the bar service has really deteriorated. Recently my friend waited 45.ins to get a cup of tea and sandwich. She had to ask for a knife, milk, etc, etc. After this experience we started meeting elsewhere. Tonight, I sat down at a table where a lady was vacating. She had ordered tea +. After almost an hour of waiting she had to leave for an appointment. I got quick service because I asked the manager for my food. I told her what had happened to the previous lady. She wasn't pleased. Then one of our friends arrived and ordered tea and a fruit pie. The tea arrived but no pie. When she asked why she hadn't received her pie and was told it was in the oven. Eventually just before we had to leave her COLD pie arrived. Very, very poor bar service. We have now decided to meet elsewhere. We'll miss the comfort of Buswells but not the poor bar service.

I stayed here recently, my first time in this hotel and will definitely stay here for all future visits to Dublin. It's central, safe, less than a 5 minute walk to Grafton Street, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Comfortable beds, and for such a central hotel it's very quiet.

It’s located on the edge of the center, which is kind of nice and quiet. We had a nice clean room that was pretty tight in terms of space. The bathroom and shower were pretty compact as well. We had a nice window that opened onto the street for good ventilation. The breakfasts were fine, but we had many that were better in other part of Ireland.

We stayed here for 2 nights in July. What a lovely hotel, great location and within walking distance to Grafton Street, Stephens Green and Trinity College. We had a nice room at the back of the hotel with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent with hot and cold choices. The staff here were simply so lovely and friendly. Will stay here again.

This hotel served as a great homebase for our time in Dublin, it’s walking distance to many attractions, and the staff was helpful and friendly. In room breakfast was delicious and the hotel bar was comfortable and authentic. It is a very old building, but maintained well and updated.

Nice property in a great location. Food not great. Front of house staff were very good. Bar staff very slow, ignoring or seemingly unaware that customers actually want to eat or drink whilst chatting to each other. one member of said bar staff was rude to the point of aggression. He tried to con us with someone else's unpaid bill. A disgrace. Reported him to management who,to be fair, apologised, but he did not Still considering taking it further.
