NYX Hotel Dublin Portobello

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful and gorgeous part of Dublin. A few minutes walk away from the Green Line LUAS. The more compact bedrooms are a bit on the small side for a couple, but they’re still well appointed, very new and clean, and comfortable. The hotel bar is cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the lack of parking, you’ll have to park onstreet at fairly considerable expense. Not really the fault of the hotel, but it is something to note if you’re driving here.

We flew into Dublin T1, arriving 12:30 and caught the 784 bus - the stop is literally outside the terminal. A quick and efficent journey straight to Charlotte Way, across the road and into Camden Court for lunch. The hotel staff were friendly, but what really blew us away was the goats cheese salad ..... WOW... sadly we didn't stay at the hotel, but instead caught a 5 minute cab ride to our hotel...

This place was excellent! I travel a lot for work and was very impressed with this hotel and the staff. We were staying 3 nights before driving out to Doolin. We arrived 6 hours before check in and they were working to get our room ready. They provided us free drinks at the bar while we waited. When I told the front desk staff we would be parking a rental car the next day, he asked if we were picking up at the airport. I confirmed we were. He said 'I know the people at the Hertz a 5 minute walk from here, let me see if I can arrange a pick up at that location and save you time and money going out to the airport.' A few minutes later he had confirmed this, which saved us a hefty taxi fare and a lot of time. This was the theme with all of the staff - extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Continuing to surprise us throughout the visit. Additionally, the accommodations were wonderful. Great rooms, great location (two distilleries across the street and shopping close by), and a fantastic breakfast. This was a wonderful stay and a great kick off to our Irish holiday. Thank you! We was staying there for an event we had booked. I asked for an iron and I waited 30minutes and it never arrived after being told it would be brought up. Only negative.

OK let me explain before you book!! Harcourt Street is a busy area with noisy nightclubs from Thursday onwards - maybe other days too but not sure about that so if you are not going clubbing etc and you get a room.at the front - you won't get much sleep because its very noisy and then you have the Luas (Tram) that runs all night!! If you are a bad sleeper and get a room at the front - forget about sleep!!! Earpods won't even drown out the noise!! I would definitely stay again though because of location- 5 mins walk to Grafton Street etc... Fast check in - room basic but spotless and had a bath too which was great!! I didn't eat so can't comment!! Staff v polite!!
