Well spaced out tented accommodation in a glorious lakeside setting. Very helpful courteous staff and excellent knowledgeable guide for nature walks. Solar power and recycling of plastics helps eco credentials. Basic shower facility but ‘does the job’. Food was very authentic Sri Lankan. And what could be better than sitting under a star lit sky eating dinner with a central wood fire! A very short drive to Wilpattu national park entrance. All in all a pleasant comfortable stay. Very good value bearing in mind luxury tented accommodation on Sri Lanka is three times the cost!

This is a lovely camp with friendly helpful staff, excellent food and comfortable fixed tents and social areas. The bathrooms are tiny but functional. The birdlife is great and the staff took us on a night walk around the camp. The wifi is unreliable but being out of contact is part of the pleasure of being in the wilderness. It is well situated to visit Wilpattu National Park.

Een erg fijn park om in te overnachten met prima tenten. Het personeel is vriendelijk en staan altijd voor je klaar. Het diner heeft ons het meest verrast, heerlijk gegeten en een mega romantische sfeer met alle fakkels. Safari was ook erg mooi, helaas geen olifanten gezien, maar wel veel mooie andere dieren.

Un endroit qu'on ne peut louper si on vient au Sri Lanka. Endroit magique, tentes très confortables même si rudimentaires, service adorable, excellentes activités proposées, gratuitement ! , et que dire du breakfast, du lunch ou du dîner en pleine brousse ! Absolument fabuleux. Je tiens aussi à souligner les 3 merveilleuses activités que nous avons faites : 1. le "night walk" ou on découvre de petits animaux endormis dans les arbres, 2. le "morning walk" avec Asela qui est intarissable en explications sur les bienfaits médicinaux de certaines plantes, feuilles ou fruits que nous apercevons, ou sur les animaux que nous rencontrons. 3. le "Morning Cooking class" avec l'excellent chef, Chanaka, qui nous apprendra à préparer un délicieux "dhal curry", que nous dégusterons ensuite au breakfast . Un régale !! Sans oublier le fabuleux safari que nous ferons l'après-midi et au cours duquel nous verrons un léopard (à 2 reprises même ! Une fois bien caché, mais la 2ème fois, à 10 mètres de nous, se prélassant sur la plage au bord du lac. FABULEUX ❤️ ! Bref , MERCI à toute l'équipe de ce fabuleux endroit pour nous avoir fait vivre cette extraordinaire expérience en pleine brousse !

We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf. Een hartelijke ontvangst en geweldige service. De Mahoora tent waarin we verbleven had een apart woon- en slaapgedeelte en een prettige badkamer. 's Avonds heerlijk gegeten, op een prachtige locatie, met fakkels, open vuur en romantische tafeltjes.

Stayed here for one night with a full day safari on the next morning. The staff is very kind and speaks good English. The tent itself (specially the bed) could be better. It was hot inside and the fan could only be turned up to its maximum, which made a lot of noise and squeaky sounds, or be turned off. The safari was booked through Big Camp aswell and we had a great guide + driver who where very enthusiastic themself.

I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and atmosphere of this camp. The tents were spacious and cosy, and the food provided was delightful. We enjoyed the national park safari trip although did not see many animals. At night the ambiance of the camp was wonderful and we enjoyed the company of fellow travelers round the bonfire. We would love to stay here again.

Such a lovely experience at the Big Game Camp in Wilpattu. The BBQ 3-meal course was lovely and worth the money. After that we got an interesting bush walk. We took a full day safari with another organisation the next day because we had already booked that, and they kept our stuff in the office. The staff was truly the best! Really kind and making sure you’re comfortable. We forgot something at the tent, and we had a uber driver pick it up for us and they took care of the instructions for the uber driver. Great contact and respond very quick. All in all just great! Would recommend.
