Thanks to all the staff, especially Frank and Claire, who were particularly helpful on our arrival. Much of the hotel is a little dated, but…… the kids don’t notice or care, and if they are having a great time so are we. And we really did! Range of food was good for buffet style, the rooms were spotlessly clean and very spacious. Please thank the cleaning staff. We appreciated the organised and seamless boot fitting on the first day in the shop attached to the hotel. It meant that we got to ski school on time without fuss. We would stay again with the kids. There is a slide inside the hotel which provided huge fun. In school holidays I would be mindful that a huge number of small children will be running around - fine for us, but just FYI.

Absolutely excellent. Staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, the choice was expansive, definitely something for everyone. Only a 5 minute walk to the ski slopes and the hotel has a heated ski room with storage for all your equipment. Would certainly come again.

First the positives. Excellent large, clean, modern room with good sized bathroom (bath & shower), sofa seating area & large comfortable bed. Lovely bath robes. Plenty of wardrobe/store space. Good location. Staff excellent. Good ski/boot room with heaters for boots. Ski hire shop on site with helpful friendly staff. Such a shame that the place was really let down by the food which was average at best in terms of choice and quality. Little thought given to vegetarians or children. No lounge area which is a pain if you have to wait around for a pick up. The bar area is very small with just a few of functional tables in a characterless small area.

My husband, 12 year old son and I stayed at Hotel Lohmann in Feb 24 and had a wonderful stay. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, especially those in the restaurant. They learned little things that we enjoyed like a sweet wine for the meal and a tea afterwards and made sure to offer every day. The food was outstanding and the rooms were super comfortable. We loved every minute, one of our favourite holidays ever!

Having read a lot of previous reviews our expectations were high but sadly left disappointed overall. More cons than pros, The Pros - - Rooms are a good size, we had a mix of the old style and modern rooms. Great shower in the modern room. - The location is pretty good, a short walk to the bus stop or main lifts. - The staff were great especially Annaka, Alex & Frank. They looked after us very well. - Warm boot and ski room downstairs. - Alcohol at dinner was a bonus and you can carry your drinks through to the bar (if you can get a seat, more on that below) Cons - - I would say the food was average (no we are not fussy eaters), not a huge amount of choice, poor choice of vegetable side dishes. Breakfast was quite basic. 2 days without orange juice, no proper coffee machine just filter coffee on the tables. Kitchen staff were never attentive in restocking empty food trays, we always had to ask for more bread, croissants etc. Some days we were told there was no refills such as bread. Only 2 small domestic toasters big enough for 4 slices of bread. - The ‘bar’ area is terrible, after dinner there are 3 tables to sit at that serves the whole hotel. If you don’t get a seat early there is nowhere to go as they lock the restaurant up at 21:30. The bar always closed early at 22:15. No music or atmosphere at all. The cakes/tea is also served here so be prepared to stand as again the seating is not adequate. - A voucher book was given at check in for the ski shop next door including a free overnight equipment wax… only for skis. Hard luck if you snowboard. - Sauna area is misleading, the hot tubs are just baths big enough for 1 person, they also wouldn’t fill up above a third of the way and the water wasn’t hot. Having been to many different countries and many resorts we all felt that this fell short comparing it to previous hotels especially for the price. A good hotel in its day I’m sure but needs updating.

This is a mid range, functional hotel in the village. 5 mins walk from the bus station and other hotels. On the main street, but built upside down so you go down floors instead of up. All? Bedrooms face away from the road towards the hill and rm 204 was much bigger than expected for a couple. It includes a sofa and table that were useless and superfluous if you're simply there to ski. The bathroom is good sized and we asked for housekeeping every other day. Everything is functional and fine, not classy. A little dated and certainly acceptable. Friends used the sauna, but the v small hot tubs were not working or cold. The restaurant is unexciting and functional. The food is well made, but again functional. The staff are great, but the whole experience was just... Yeah... OK. I guess. One thing that's really lacking is the ability to relax after dinner. There's no sofas or lounge, only 3 tables near a small bar. There's not enough seating or space for the number of residents Where are you supposed to go after dinner, because the village is basically other hotels, no major bars to hang out in.

Was first time stayed lohmann hotel and it won’t be last time friendly staffs highly recommended clean room also extra little room for ski or snowboard if you want to keep it upstairs otherwise store room for boots or ski’s downstairs you can share with all guests from hotel.the food was very good waiters and waitress were very friendly service excellent. I would come back if I will have the opportunity again.ski rental and ski passes could be purchased within the hotel’s shop. Chair lift not far walking distance 5 minutes.

Walked in to reception and was a little disappointed. We were the shown to the dinning room as we arrived quite late, the décor I know it isn't important but you want some where nice to stay. Anyway the décor needs some attention, we were shown to our table and they explained about the buffet food and beers and wines. The food was lovely and each breakfast and evening meal after that was fab. The staff couldn't do enough for you and our room was superb, clean, comfy bed extra pillows fabulous power shower. Unfortunately Obergurgl only seemed to have hotels and fancy sports shops, nothing to do if you had a none ski day. The lifts are so close and the ski outs bring you straight back in to the village. The Lohmann was lovely, but we won't be returning to Obergurgl. Sorry Obergurl xx

We spent a great week as a group of friends , including a child. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious - the hotel appears to be refurbishing therefore some rooms more modern than others. Ours was an updated room, with excellent shower and had both a large sofa and armchair to relax on. The meals are all buffet selection, and are truly delicious, with more than enough variety even for picky people. There is good quality wine, beer and soft drinks for the duration of dinner, and the staff are more than happy to keep refilling carafes . The Lohmann is a very family friendly hotel, therefore expect a lot of excited children. Would highly recommend for families and groups. The staff are brilliant.
