Location is next to River Nagara where comorant fishing tour was held and within walking distance to Gifu Castle and the great Buddha of Gifu. Breakfast is good with many choices.

I randomly picked this hotel on the 18th floor that day. I booked it because the name was very special. I can say that this is the most satisfactory hotel in this trip to Japan.  First of all, the service is very good. The luggage will be picked up at the door and sent directly to your room. In addition, there are free drinks in the lobby, and you can sit there and drink them in the afternoon. Secondly, the hotel's hot spring is really great and there are very few people. The room and the hot spring are all Pola. In addition, the scenery is really great. Facing the river, you can see the sunset. The room is also very large and you can drink tea. I like to climb the mountain in the park near the hotel. It is really a very comfortable small city. I will definitely stay here next time I come to Gifu. 

I came to Gifu because I wanted to escape the urbanized Kansai and spend a quiet and relaxing time. When I travel to Japan, I always go to a hot spring once a day, so I chose the Chuhachiro Hotel. This ryokan with a long history is located right in front of the Nagara River, has great views, and a public bath with an open-air bath. Access from the station is a bit far, but 4 to 5 buses all depart from Gifu Station and stop a 4-minute walk from the hotel, and you can also rent a bicycle. There is also a festival called Ukai held on the Nagara River in May, so it is the best choice if it suits your purpose. Also, the rooms are very spacious and clean and the staff are very polite and friendly. This is excellent hospitality that is hard to find in any hotel. Breakfast is 2,200 yen as of the date of writing the review, and it is a buffet style with quite a variety of good desserts. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to stay in Gifu!

I stayed in a room with an open-air bath. Although the price was high, I can say that the accommodation experience was good. It seems that there are plenty of cheaper and better accommodations if you look around, but if you don't want to bother looking, this seems like a good choice.

It was my first time in Gifu, and everything from the drinks served in the lobby overlooking the Nagara River to the presentation of the food, the taste, and the customer service from the staff at the front desk was wonderful and comfortable. If I ever visit again, I would definitely like to use this hotel again.

👍 Hot spring hotel, there is a river at the door, the scenery is beautiful There are cormorant fishing performances in the summer and autumn evenings, which are very unique. It’s best to have dinner at the hotel, there aren’t many eating options nearby Gifu Castle is a must-see attraction. 🉑️Choose to take the cable car up from Gifu Park (a 15-minute walk). It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the cable car to the top of the mountain. There is Hida beef in the center of Gifu, you can choose from it

A hotel with a history of more than 160 years. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The river view room has a beautiful view. There are many hot springs in the bathhouse. It is great to soak in the hot springs with a view of the river. The breakfast is buffet style. There are many types of food. There are also desserts. Free parking. Staff They are all so warm and friendly. I will stay here again if I have the chance.

I was satisfied in general. I don't feel like I'm lacking. The hospitality is good and I would like to use it again near Gifu city.

This exceptional Japanese ryokan is where the locals go for a retreat. The staff are warm and welcoming. The kaiseki was a gourmet experience worthy of a Michelin star! The breakfast buffet was endless - possibly as many as 30 delicious choices. We opted for a River view room with a soaking tub on the balcony and were in heaven! We also tried their hotel onsen, which was wonderful. There is a beautiful tranquility that permeates this place!
