Gomersal Park Hotel & Spa

Staff were lovely, helpful and the service was great. However, we were late being given our room as they were behind on the cleaning. Wouldn't usually be an issue but we just needed to check-in, drop off our bags and go. Staff did try to make the room ready asap which was great. Room was ok, a little tired, needing some updating/fixing up as it was missing a toilet roll holder and the wallpaper was peeling by the window but otherwise it was nice. Some of the hallways were a little smelly for some reason, there are plug-in's to try and cover this but they didn't seem to do much. Didn't have any food so I can't comment

First room we were given hadn’t been cleaned from previous guests, looks like the had started and left it for some reason. We went to reception and told them, staff were helpful and extremely apologetic. We were very kindly given a generous upgrade of room for the mistake. These things happen and the staff handled it really well. Would stay again.

We stayed overnight following a meal with family in the restaurant. We were very pleased with the large car park, the EV charging, the spacious and airy restaurant and the service from bar and restaurant staff to our group of 25 diners. The bedrooms are accessed via a series of corridors but there are numbered signposts and for the return journey there is signposting to Reception. Our one problem of a cold radiator was swiftly dealt with by Reception. The rooms and corridors have a traditional decor including carpet and this reduces reverberation and noise. The swimming pool was very pleasant and felt safe since it's visible from the Spa Reception desk. If we're in the area again or if the family decide to book a similar meal next year then we'll certainly want to stay again and we'll be telling all our friends about the EV charging facility. Great to see the hotel also had solar panels.

Stayed at the GPH many times, however this was the first occassion we have included Christmas Day Lunch. The hotel and staff did remarkably well in serving high numbers within a relatively short time frame. The Christmas Day experience was most enjoyable and the food when considering so many covers was of a high standard. Just one minor detail...no Cranberry Sauce...otherwise very recommended. Thank you to all Staff and we'll be back in two years...Andrew and Ann Rm 219.

We had afternoon tea this afternoon, there was a slight mix up at the start but it was soon resolved and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, food and drink was 10/10. Special mention to Gracie-Anne who was fabulous and again couldn’t do though for us. We would definitely recommend and we will be back to try the Sunday roast which also look delicious.

The customer service was absolutely outstanding and everyone in the service industry could learn from this hotel and especially from our waitress: GracieAnne. Talk about Service with a smile! She was an absolute gem who went the extra mile and couldn’t do enough for us to make us feel welcome. She is the absolute star in their crown. The hotel itself was really beautiful. It was really well designed with lots of light and a pleasure to move around in. The reason, however, that I have only given 3 stars is because in the advert, it mentioned that all the cakes were beautiful and home-made and the scones etc But it was quite obvious to us that the cakes weren’t home-made nor with the scones. One cake, the lemon drizzle was really delicious but the rest of the afternoon tea was really lacklustre, boring, and as I mentioned, the cakes and scones were definitely below par. I had got this on a Groupon for £20 - and normally it was supposed to be £38! But truly we both thought it was worth about £8 and that’s all. However, we ate it because we were hungry and I was certainly full afterwards and I enjoyed some of what I had and I don’t want to be too negative because overall, because of the lovely waitress and the ambience of the place we had a nice time.
