Hotels Near Orchard Commons Student Residence in Greater Vancouver

Hotel location is perfect. It’s right next to the Richmond Night Market and has included parking in the garage right next to it. The staff, minus one experience, was all very nice and helpful. Our room was very cozy and perfect for what we needed. The AC blew nice and cold. My only complaint that could’ve brought the rating up higher was that our toilet’s water kept rising and would get self clogged even though we literally just had got there and just used the bathroom to pee. On our way out, we decided to go the front desk to ask someone to service it while we were out. They instead just asked me “so do you want a plunger?”. We had somewhere to be so I just said sure, maybe I can just take a look at it when I’m back. Well, after getting the toilet to flush, it just clogged again. So we pretty much had to use the plunger every single time we needed to use the bathroom which was really annoying. It really brought the experience of staying there, down.

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

We went to Canada for business purposes. Each of us had a room on a different floor - I ended up on the 7th floor and a room with a mountain view. A colleague ended up lower and there was already only a view of the shopping center. But these are not aspects of the hotel's rating. I subtract one star for the dry air and buzzing air conditioner in the room. The rest OK. Breakfasts correct, service courteous.

The man at the front desk who checked us in was very helpful in finding us a first-floor room instead of the second-floor room we'd been assigned. He was also very thorough in telling us about how to get to our room, about breakfast, etc. Breakfast was great! It was in a restaurant on the premises (but had to walk outside to get to it). There was a good variety of hot and cold food and they kept it well supplied. The hotel room was larger than most. There is nice large laundry room on the premises with inexpensive washer & dryer (ice machine also in that room). The beds were comfy, the shower was good, we had plenty of towels and toilet paper, everything was clean and in good repair, all the lights worked. The sink and counter were separate from the toilet & tub and there was a nice big counter. There was a power ***** next to the bed where I plugged in my phone charger. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby. We like the citrus fragrance of the supplied soaps and shampoo, etc. This was one of the best places we've stayed!

Thank you for the opportunity to describe my Inn at the Quay experience. I was booked for a day procedure at Royal Columbian Hospital at 6:00AM on Saturday May 20. Because I was travelling from out of town and had to be driven home (as a requirement of the procedure) I elected to travel by train to Vancouver and then New Westminster on the day before, Friday. On Tuesday May 16 I booked a room at your hotel for the night of the night of Friday May 19 for $389.00 ex-taxes. My plan was to take a cab to the Hospital and then my daughter was then going to drive to town to pick me up and drive me home after the procedure on Saturday. After travelling to New Westminster I had time to kill because I called the Inn at the Quay to see if I could get an early check in but was told that you were very busy and that was not possible. The hospital recommends attending with only your care card for security reasons. For this reason I had my BC Care Card and the credit card I used to book the room in my cellular phone case. During my wanders I lost my phone. Fortunately I had a significant amount of cash so I got a cab immediately and attended at your hotel. I explained my situation to the clerk on the desk and she said that she could not check me in without the credit card I used to book the room. I asked her if you would charge that card with the room price if I had not shown up and she agreed that that was the case. When I asked if she could just charge the card and let me stay she said that the situation was different and was against your policy. I questioned her further and she summoned a person form the back office who agreed that the situation was completely different and actually said “Sorry, we can’t help you.” When I suggested cancelling the credit card transaction and paying in cash that suggestion was also turned down. Reason was lost on these two minions that are trained to be slavishly obedient to your rules and policies. I am sure that if you question these two they will agree that I was polite and courteous throughout our encounter. After several attempts at circumventing their indifference I felt that I should leave before I started to get mad. As a competent, attentive and businesslike hotelier I am sure you are aware of the saturation in your market on any given day. If you harken back to May 19 you will recall that all of the other hotels in New Westminster and as far as Port Coquitlam were completely booked. No matter, I was able to avail myself of a comfortable chair in the admitting lobby of the Royal Columbian Hospital from 4:00PM on Friday until 6:00AM the following morning. Except of course when I had to leave the admitting lobby while the janitors polished the floors. Because the Emergency Room lobby was full I was able to meet some of the interesting local street residents that were outside at 2:30AM. The room is super big...very cozy...The owner Julie is very nice...We didn't order breakfast and she steamed buns for us...very cozy...The house and bathroom are very luxurious...The location is very convenient...It's close to Richmond for dinner and 2 outlets...The facilities are complete...Everything is available. The house is also fragrant...There are many hot pot restaurants nearby...and tennis schools

The Hyatt was amazing with great service from the moment we walked in the door. We were able to leave our luggage while we waited for our room so we could explore the city. They were wonderful and cleaning our dirty towels and changing beds each day, the outdoor pool and hot tub were a welcome site after long days of walking. The only downside was the lack of restaurant access. 1 restaurant is barely open and the other is so high priced and doesn't deliver to your room. Thankfully Skip the Dishes was an option. Starbucks right in the lobby, can't go wrong with that!!

The moment I walked into the lobby and was greeted by the staff, I knew it was going to be an incredible trip. To start, the location is amazing. Walking distance to so many restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. What made the trip extra special was the head concierge, Alexsander. It was my first time in Canada and he told me so much about the history of some buildings and recommended all the places to go. He even took the extra step to walk my friend and me to Palate Kitchen around the corner to make sure we didn’t get lost and introduced us to the hostess. It was such an incredible level of customer service that I haven’t ever experienced , even when staying at other 5 star hotels. All the recommendations of sites to see made our trip absolutely perfect . The overnight front desk agent even offered me water and offered to call a cab when my Uber cancelled for my 5am flight. The other employee working that shift even carried my luggages to the car in the rain and waited with me outside until they were there. The room was spotless and so beautiful. Housekeeping did an amazing job. We were also given a handwritten card with Rosé upon arrival as well as breakfast vouchers and early check in. Thank you so much to the staff for making my vacation so magical. I can’t wait to refer my friends vacationing to stay at this hotel. What a special experience! Also, the breakfast and restaurant staff was phenomenal !

This is our second year in a row booking at the Element Metrotown Burnaby for our soccer tournaments. Roxanne in group bookings was super helpful and awesome to work with because she helped me organized the accommodations. I had no idea what I was doing. Rafael at the front desk was friendly, helpful and he remembers everything. The location was excellent with many food options, groceries, and a mall. The rooms were spacious and gorgeous with great views. The kitchen with full fridge was very convenient for 4 occupancies. The beds are also very comfortable. We will definitely return to this hotel.
