Suggest to improve cleanliness and the heater in the room shuts down from time to time.

Amazing

I stayed here when I went to Nelson a while ago. The parking lot is relatively small, and the price/performance ratio is good. It is a relatively cheap accommodation nearby. Overall, it is good.

Stayed here for one night on the way back to Christchurch. The owner was very welcoming, parking was convenient, the central kitchen was very good, and there was a washbasin in the room. It was just that Greymouth was a bit lonely and not very popular.

The room is clean and good. The central kitchen is fully equipped. The location is in the heart of the city, convenient to travel, close to the supermarket.

There is a combination lock and a key lock, but you can't do a remote check in?

1st the staff was amazing, they were helpful beyond the usual. Not only friendly and answering local questions, but making sure the charger cables I left there got back to me with no effort on my part. The room was delightful and comfortable. The building historical, bright and easy to find. Finally it was very economical. Thank you Duke!

Owner was great! Location is Perfect! Bunk beds were very comfortable, no evening noise especially with the central location but you could only hear traffic if your room window was open. The kitchen is well equipped with everything required to cook a meal, they even had an Air Fryer! Loads of room to sit & enjoy your meal they even lit the wood fire in the evenings for cosy dinners. The games room is where our son spent most of his time, they have a pool table and table tennis also more seating areas to either read a book, have a meal or enjoy a hot cuppa while looking out into town. Free parking at the rear 😊

This is a building in the process of being restored. It's potential is large but a way off yet. The rooms are progressively being updated. We stayed in an updated one and it was great for what we needed. Travellers should know it's still rough around the edges and you will encounter older areas not yet updated such as the toilet and shower area and lounge .. but it was comfortable and the owner man kind and helpful. For the price paid I think it's good. By buying accommodation at the duke you would actually be helping progress the restoration of this old building! There was a fire going in the lounge room, and the kitchen is huge! Plenty of room and pots/pans etc if you wanted to cook your own food.

Just what I needed for the street race , Clean nice room, Easy check in even though I was a bit early. Got a good park for my bike out of the way. Right in the middle of town and a ten minute walk to anywhere like supermarket shops etc. Keen to stay there again when we go back next year

Stayed in this room, excellent bed, comfortable as. Friendly hosts and interesting conversation about history of place. Enjoyed hot coal fire in the living room at night and the use of courtesy bike to get around given limitations with walking. Enjoyed my time here and would definitely stay again.
