Edinburgh Gallery Bed & Breakfast

Stayed for 4 nights. Great that they had exclusive parking lots at the back of the B&B. Not exactly inside center of town, but easily walkable. Very endearing owner, John, who was more than happy to chat and share travel tips. Wife and kids weren't too thrilled with bathrooms being outside of our rooms though. apart from that, it was a pleasant stay, in a quaintly decorated B&B, comfortable beds and basic (self served) breakfast.

First of all, John the host is a gem. I only stayed one night which is a shame in such a nice historic place. I only eat Corn Flakes for breakfast but it is nice that you can help yourself all the time. The rooms are beautiful - I like it old fashioned. I was worried about the noise of traffic as the windows are old but it soon quietend down. There are not many sockets to load all the electronic gadgets we have nowadays but that is the way in an old house. I used the one for the kettle. I would stay again. It was in good walking distance to town. Parking was not easy - it is best to park backwards and it goes uphill. I had a small car and there is a big crack just at the bottom, so I had to step on the gas quite heavily to get over it.

Great place to stay that is different from the corporate hotels.

Lovely and quirky Lovely quirky B&B, room was spacious and clean (windows and curtains not clean, rest was spotless). Shared bathroom was clean and kitchen and sitting area very pleasant space to meet other travellers. Breakfast is help yourself cereal and toast, coffee, tea and Milo.
