Hotels in The Peak Of Mount Huangshan, Huangshan City

Before coming, I compared almost all the hotels and guesthouses on the mountain, and Beihai stood out as having the best value for money. The room size was quite decent, and the concierge service from Xinyi was excellent – she was very knowledgeable about the surrounding attractions and routes. The location is also good; it's about a 10-minute walk to Monkey Watching the Sea, which is currently the closest viewpoint for sunrise. Bright Summit is a bit further, probably a 45-minute to an hour walk for the average person. The closest to the hotel is the Yungu cable car, about a 20-minute walk, making it very convenient for going up and down the mountain. The hotel restaurant's breakfast spread was very generous, and the à la carte dinner dishes were also delicious, especially the bamboo shoots and the old chicken soup – so fragrant! The hotel staff were all friendly and welcoming. There's also a cat named Yundou, who's plump and adorable and often wanders around the hotel entrance early in the morning. Right outside the hotel, there's also a medical station, a police station, and a coffee shop, which makes the facilities incredibly convenient. While prices on the mountain are high, it's understandable, considering all the food and drinks are carried up by porters. I hope they are compensated fairly for their hard work. Overall, it was a good experience, and the money was well spent.

Perched on the cliff face of Lion Peak at an elevation of 1630 meters, the hotel offers breathtaking views of rolling cloud seas and majestic peaks right outside your window. It's within walking distance of attractions like Monkey Watching the Sea and Shixin Peak, making it easy to catch both sunrise and sunset. Although our visit was hampered by rainy weather, preventing us from enjoying the sunrise and sunset, the fusion of the 400-year-old Red Temple with modern glass villas creates a serene atmosphere where Zen coexists with nature. Here, gazing at the clouds, listening to the pine trees, and stargazing truly soothe away all weariness. It's definitely worth another trip to Huangshan for this experience.

Located on the back mountain, the room wasn't huge, but the service was excellent – they were very responsive to all our requests. We had both the lunch buffet and breakfast, and the food was good. The sunrise and sea of clouds probably aren't as impressive as from Bright Summit. Unfortunately, due to heavy fog this time, we couldn't see anything. There was an evening performance. Huangshan is incredibly tough to climb; it's constant ups and downs over mountains and ridges, leaving my legs aching. The West Sea monorail only offered standing tickets. Taking the Yuping cable car up is the classic route, passing by the Greeting Pine, Hundred-Step Cloud Ladder, and either Aoyu Cave or One-Line-Sky to reach Aoyu Peak, then continuing to Bright Summit. For someone nearing fifty, just looking at the route feels challenging. The weather in Huangshan changes rapidly; one moment it was clear blue skies, and the next, dense fog rolled in.

A truly delightful stay at Yupinglou Hotel! The room was much more spacious and comfortable than I expected. The most pleasant surprise was the view from the window; it was incredibly open, offering panoramic vistas of Huangshan, making the stay itself a treat. I must especially commend the hotel's butler service. From check-in to check-out, they were incredibly attentive and thoughtful, answering all questions with detailed and warm service. This made our entire Huangshan trip so much easier. I was very satisfied with everything – the room environment, the scenic location, and the service. If I visit Huangshan again, I will definitely choose Yupinglou Hotel! Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The facilities are indeed old, and the room isn't huge, with a decor that feels dated. However, you can't beat the location – it's right on the peak of Bright Summit at 1860 meters, marking the dividing point between the front and back mountains. You can take the Yungu Cable Car up the back mountain, explore the Flying-over Stone on day one, and then descend via the Yuping Cable Car on the front mountain on day two. It's the perfect choice for this classic route, allowing you to avoid retracing your steps. What truly makes it worth the price is the sunrise: the alarm rings, you bundle up in the down jacket provided in the room, and in just two or three minutes, you're at the viewing platform. Those ten minutes when the sea of clouds turns golden? Absolutely priceless. After staying here, we can officially say we've conquered Bright Summit too.

Comfortable stays and delicious food are already the least noteworthy things about Shuguangli. This is the first review I've ever actively written, and unlike the perfunctory ones requested by other hotels, every sentence comes from the heart. Every butler at Shuguangli is incredibly warm and thoughtful. They remember even casual remarks and surprise you at unexpected moments. We originally planned for one night on the mountaintop, but after experiencing the warmth of Shuguangli, we decisively extended our stay for another night and even invited our friends from downhill to join us. The butlers try their best to fulfill every request; their common refrain is, ”Just let us know if you need anything at all.” I must also specially mention two unique butlers, the cat Yun Dou and the dog Yun Bao, who also warm every guest with Shuguangli's hospitality. I'm already looking forward to reuniting with the 'family' here, probably in winter~

I came for the location to catch a sunset and sunrise over huangshan and the hotel is perfect for that. The cozy solo room had everything I needed and a nice view to top it up. The hotel is super confortable and provides everything you need including warm jackets and torchlight for sunset / sunrise viewing (meaning you don't need to bring any of it with you on the mountain, I wish I had asked before). The concierges were super helpful and gave me advice for sunset /sunrise viewing (the hotel also provide the local weather forecast including time, visibility probability and sea cloud probablity), all of which less than 20 minutes away from the hotel. I was to catch both and then come back to the hotel for dinner / breakfast (both of which were very good with a wide variety of dishes). Everything (room and dinner) was pricier than in other cities but given the location at the summit and the benefits of enjoying the mountain late afternoon and early morning without the huge crowds of the day, it was worth every single euro and allowed me not to rush the trip.

This is a new and excellent hotel on top of Huangshan, with large windows offering stunning night views. They also provide dedicated butler service, informing guests about sunrise/sunset times and arranging guides to lead them to watch the sunrise. In the evenings, there's an outdoor beer and BBQ party, showing a thoughtful effort to meet guests' needs.

The room was clean and tidy, and we had a view of Lotus Peak and Aoyu Peak from the window. What truly deserves praise is their thoughtfulness: the room was equipped with umbrellas, a flashlight, warm outerwear, and even a foot-soaking tub. After a full day of hiking, having that was incredibly considerate! As soon as we arrived, the customer service representative added us on WeChat. Any questions we had were answered and addressed very quickly. Even more thoughtful, they would proactively inform us about sunset times, the best viewing spots, how long it would take to get there, and sunrise times. They even organized groups with a lead guide to take people to watch the sunrise! The buffet dinner was also quite good. The ambiance was pleasant, there was a wide variety of dishes, and the taste was excellent. It was the best meal I had on Huangshan, definitely worth recommending!

The room is bigger than other hotels on the mountain, the facilities are very exquisite, especially the bedding is very comfortable, for climbing tired can get a good relaxation, sleep well is very important. excellent service. After booking, the housekeeper will take care of the whole process. From the scenic bus, tickets to the ropeway, you need to swipe your ID card. You don't have to worry about it at all. The staff will also greet you at the attraction not far from the ropeway, eliminating the trouble of climbing the mountain to find a hotel. The fruit presented is also carefully selected and the quality is very good. To Huangshan, if you want to enjoy a light and luxurious private environment, it can really be satisfied here.
