Grand Regency

Arrived at the hotel after a 2 week travelling tour and were just looking for a place to settle and stay without the constant packing moving and unpacking. We were travelling with two kids aged 7 and 2 and so were exhausted. We stayed at the hotel for three nights. Arrived at the room and were offered a choice of two rooms (one double room with an additional mattress or a suite which had a double bed, two singles and a small living area) and we opted for the smaller room as it meant less space for the kids to move around (easier to keep an eye on them), and we have been using this size room throughout our tour and it was fine, and to also keep costs down. The room was nice and tidy, had a large three seater sofa and an armchair too. Behind the sofa was a large sliding window which had only a small ledge outside of it, and as far as I know the window did not lock. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS WINDOW and considering we were on the third floor, we had to ensure that the window was covered by the sofa at all times and that the kids went nowhere near this. - We should not have to worry about this whilst on a break. Other than this, the room had air conditioning, a TV, a desk area, a wall mounted fan/air vent rather than a ceiling mounted one, sufficient wardrobe space. The bathroom was nice and clean apart from some old and dirty grouting in the shower. They provided dental and shaving kits as well as soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. No shower gel :( Breakfast was served as a buffet system with some minor changes to it on a daily basis. Items served were channey, aloo tarkari, halwa, sometimes chicken, keema, haleem, porridge, paratha, puri, tandoori paratha/naan. Puri was regularly old and therefore dry. Tea and hot milk were served in a flask type container. We found out later on that we could have items made to rder such as fried/half fried eggs, omellete with various toppings, and even french toast. It would have helped if we had known this sooner. The juices they served were Tang, and as being a foreigner, am unable to drink the local water (mineral/mountain only for me!), and therefore I feel that the juices here did give me and my kids an upset tummy. The guys at the breakfast area were very helpful and nice. We used room service at times for ironing, warming up some food purchased from outside and the team were very helpful. Prices for ironing were inconsistent, but the guys were very helpful. Cash was paid directly to the people doing the work. Wifi was working well and were able to get a lot done here in terms of work/research. Car park was able to keep a few cars, maybe about 20. During our stay, there were what I believe to be Afghani refugee families and the kids were playing and running around at times - not a problem, but on one occassion the lift was broken which I beleive was due to the kids playing - not ideal when we wanted breakfast in our room due to illness or when carrying luggage back downstairs upon checking ou
