Skalion Hotel

Bad experience in this hotel we haven't sleep good due to noises everywhere lobby,besides rooms, elevator and stairs can be heard. No privacy. Rooms so small and dirty. We booked 26.12-30.12 2 rooms but on our first day we wanted to checkout ASAP because of misinformation hotel Put in there web page this is not a 4 stars hotel. 1 star is the right rate for this hotel. Don't be scam by there nice advertisement expectations vs reality is a big difference. Not worth it price for this crap hotel.

Problems began at check in. Booked a double room but they gave us a twin and stated it was all they had and BA had booked the room incorrectly. They agreed to move us the next day but had to stay in single beds for 1st night. The room was awful. Banged your head every time you went into the bathroom due to ceiling height. In 5ft 4. Couldn’t sit on toilet without your knees touching the sink it was awful. No idea how they fitted a bathroom into this room. Too frightened to go to the toilet in the night in case I banged my head going up a step then low ceiling. View from room the absolute worst - dirty back alley. Noise from other hotel guests woke us up at 2am. Moved rooms the next day. Nicer room and bathroom but then the noise started. The noise from the main road is unbearable and you cannot sleep. Then there was a constant noise from some vent in our room. Room way too hot and air conditioning wasn’t working. Reported it but never fixed it. Breakfast poor - plenty of choice but the hot food was always cold or hard. Asked for a omelette so it was warm and was told I would have to pay. My husband emailed in advance - 7 months in advance to ask if we could have a high up double room for our anniversary. This request was acknowledged and they agreed to decorate the room. They never did and actually put us in a twin despite this email. When we showed them the email they advised the booking team had forgot and they would ensure our next room was really special. I’m sure they then placed us in one with broken air conditioning as we complained and the noise sounded like someone upstairs was constantly flushing their toilet all night. Never slept for the 4 nights we were at the hotel. It is in an area with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants so easy to get to things. Hotel did also assist booking out airport transfer back. It’s also clean everywhere but the lack of sleep tainted the stay

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights as I was participating in the Istanbul marathon. The reception, bar and lounge area is beautiful. It has a mirrored roof and nice decor. The room was also very nice. Nice sized bathroom with very hot shower. The beds are very comfortable. We had a balcony which is nice to look out onto the traditional Turkish crazy roads and watch the mayhem. The breakfast on the 7th floor was amazing and had a great fresh selection. The restaurant is beautiful. The sky terrace is amazing. The view is relaxing. The hotel cat is also nice although it's a bit fat 🤣 The highlight of our stay was the hotel staff. The two ladies Mariem and Nadia were very welcoming and friendly. We had a good laugh with them and they made us feel at home. They helped us with taxis, different areas, restaurant/bar recommendations and trips. Nothing was ever too much and they were always smiling and always warm. Thanks for a good stay. We will be back. We loved the crazy city

Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. The only negative was that there was a problem with the shower doors in that there was a large gap in the middle causing the water to leak out when taking a shower. This was reported many times but never got fixed.

The best thing in the hotel was the staff soooo thank you very much for you hospitality we will absolutely back again to skalion hotel and spa very nice and clean and near everything the room was clean and nice also everything was perfectly fine
