We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Kanab for nine nights in mid-late May. There are several other hotels in Kanab, but I decided to stay at the Hampton because it is Hilton-owned, which usually means a consistently good experience. Therefore, I was a bit surprised at my experience here. Overall it was fine - our room faced the cliffs, which was nice. The breakfast was fine (one of the servers, Dolly, was the highlight of our stay) - they offered a lot of carbs (as usual) and the sausages were always pork (some chicken or turkey would have been nice). There were also oranges and bananas offered. They also provide one washer and one dryer, which came in handy during our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel is meagerly staffed, and housekeeping was only offered "as requested." After four days, we had to ask for trash removal, towel replacement, bathroom cleaning, and bed/sheet change. After that, they came at random to take out the trash and provide us new towels. They never changed the sheets again (which was fine) or clean the bathroom (which was not). I've never stayed at a hotel where I had to request housekeeping. As far as staffing - we generally saw one person at the front desk - one time we saw three people. They were very nice but again, I've worked at hotels before and there were always more staff around. We also asked for foam pillows - a normal thing for a hotel to keep on hand. None were available. What hotel does not carry foam pillows? So..overall I would say average for this stay. There are things that generally are provided for our comfort that were not provided.
