The hotel is in a small town, the surrounding environment is superb, there are many foreigners coming to climb the mountain, there is a cable car to go up the mountain at the foot of the mountain, you can go back and forth, you can also go hiking, the door and the opposite are the hotel's free parking lot, breakfast is very rich, it is us The most expensive breakfast in Europe, the restaurant owner is very domineering, saying that several houses are her, huh, huh, show off the rich.

I had never heard of Kandersteg before and nor had anyone else that I spoke to about Switzerland but when I found this hotel on the Inghams website I decided to take a chance. I’m so glad I did! It is surrounded by mountains and just outside the small town and is both lovely, inside and out. We had two rooms, one ambience room for the children and we were upgraded to a suite, both rooms were spacious and very clean and had stunning views of the mountains. The inside pool was a big hit as was the snooker room and back from days out for tea and cake at 4pm a really nice little extra. Food was always going to be tricky as I’m the first to admit that I’m a bit fussy but the waiters were professional and friendly and always helpful with menu choices and swapping things around for us! Reception staff were very pleasant and picked us up and dropped us back to the train station when we arrived and departed. The only thing if I was being super picky would be the daily news, all written in German about the weather, things going on and menus for the evening. English guests seem to be the minority in the hotel which I am more than happy with but for when English guests are staying there, a copy in English would be really nice as we missed some of the important news for one of the evenings about a music night and then the waiters were surprised when we knew nothing about it! All in all a stunning location and perfect for day trips using the local buses, trains and cable cars

We booked Hotel rooms for a party of 17 people, for a birthday party, including dinner, during the first weekend in July 2021. Everyone enjoyed the stay, explored the area on foot, or relaxed in the SPA area. We enjoyed two dinners and were, in general, happy with the offered choices, which include vegetarian options as well. Overall, we can recommend the Hotel in regards to all aspects! My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Alfa Soleil on a 5 night walking holiday booked through Headwater Holidays. We were made to feel very valued and important guests from the moment we arrived at Kandersteg railway station. Adriano met us on the platform and drove us the short 3 minutes to the hotel, situated on the outskirts of the village. Adriano then offered us a welcome drink and gave us a very comprehensive overview of the hotel and our planned activities for our stay. Our room had a great view from its balcony and it was clean and the ensuite was a good size and well equipped. The hotel had a good spa and swimming pool, somewhere to relax in after a day of mountain walking. The food at every meal was beautiful - well presented and nothing was any trouble for the staff. On rainy days, staff suggested alternative places to visit and we would recommend a trip to Spiez. The cable cars were all within a reasonable walk from the hotel and the guest card we received on arrival gave us free travel on both train and bus services in the Kandersteg region. Overall, a great holiday in a super hotel in a very pretty Swiss village, with spectacular scenery everywhere. Our only negative comment is that 5 days was not enough time to do everything we wanted to!!

An old fashioned, not specially nice grand hotel from outside but very nicely refurbished and maintained inside. Service is as expected at this level: courteous and efficient. Our room was not extremely large but very comfortable with excellent bedding and a pleasant balcony. The hall and the bar are somewhat impersonal and uninviting and the few flashing lights behind the pianist were certainly unable to help for this. The spa (I'm talking about the sauna area not the swimming pool with kids that we didn't use) looks pretty new and is very well made. However it is quite small and the - very pleasant - relaxation area, takes a good part of it. This leaves not much surface for the rest and on top of that the hotel unfortunately chose to split it in two zones (thus removing precious square meters for a very small and unnecessary textile area). The result is that saunas are mostly extremely small. A real pity given the potential of the place. The spa is conveniently accessible the day of departure which is very good. But why opening half of it 3 hours after the other?? This is disappointing and incomprehensible! Excellent breakfast, free outside parking. Wifi a bit weak in some areas but otherwise ok. And a of course, as we are in Switzerland, a few pettiness that are always surprising when you spend several hundreds franc a night in a 5* resort... like the inside parking more expensive in winter (!) or the second egg in the eggs Benedict for 4.50 extra (!!)... come on...

Temporarily change the itinerary and take a hot spring by car. The hotel has a hot spring experience, do not need to go out, the old five-star hotel, the service is very good, the bedding is also comfortable. In the same price hotel, the cost is higher, to give a breakfast, croissant, pancake is very delicious. The front desk service was very good, we arrived at 11:00 in the morning, found a room, let us stay in advance, very good, come to the hot springs, then recommend the experience!

A very relaxing stay is guaranteed. The hotel has all amenities to make the time spent there relaxing. My wife and I have been there near end November at the very low season. We might have been the only guests, the restaurant was closed for one more week. without even asking, we got a free upgrade from a regular room to a suite with 2 balconies, mountain view, 2 bath rooms and a living. Marvelous! The breakfast also was ample and delicious. From a former sojourn I remember that the restaurant is also really nice and offers a variety of good food. The hotel Quellenhof i(nn at the source) is located 2 minutes across a walkway from the public bath institution alimented by a natural hot spring where you can easily swim in a large open air pool if en when it snows, which makes it very charming. The hotel uses the same parking facilities as the bath.Entrance far away, no traffic noise even more so as the is no road close to the hotel. A good choice!
