For the cost of the hotel, the experience is disappointing as a result of the bad service of the staff. The service of the front desk, concierge and bar staff (all located in the lobby) is very good but once you get out of the lobby everything changes, the staff is not attentive and the service is that of a 2-star hotel. At the pool I had to go out twice to ask for a couple of beers because the waitress I asked for them forgot to talk to other customers (half an hour waiting for a beer), at breakfast the waiters are literally more concerned with cleaning tables than by taking guests' order. The restaurant was almost empty and yet they leave guests waiting for a table and when you finally sit down you have to fight for the waiter to see you and once you do, he asks you to wait and starts collecting dishes from other tables. Outside my room we found the day of our check-in some dirty glasses and plates which were never removed during our entire stay, nobody supervises the cleanliness or the quality. The only thing that is worth it is the view from the pool and the beach, but for the price of the hotel we expected much more, there is a Westin nearby and it is surely a better option.

there were fees that were unexpected , I was not aware of the fees. Thought with a $1500 cost it would be included. I know i will not be staying at the Cliff again. And at that cost I still had to do dishes and vacuum and wash towels. will not mention the cliffs to family and friends.I did like the shower heads, and that there were handicap showers for my auntie.we did request a shower chair , which help her shower. I did not like all the chickens and the mess they left behind and noise.some areas needed more lighting on the walk way and the signs with room numbers. needed more lighting on the main drive inn entrance .we were told to open the sliding glass doors for a nice breeze, but did not feel good while sleeping.didnt feel safe leaving drapes wide open, for security reasons.your trash situation needs improvement, trash area always full that includes the recycling area.the walk to the cliff area was great and had a nice view, sat there for hours and enjoyed the view.the pool area was nice and clean and security was alot nicer and excerise room was nice and clean.

GGuest UserA very nice place to stay once you swallow the price. The resort was very clean. People friendly and they are very flexible. Check out was at 10am but they accommodate holding luggage and provide a hospitality room for 30 minutes to clean up after that. They allowed us to use the resort facilities all day after check out. That was very special.

GGuest UserGood access: 10 to 15 minutes drive from the airport. Good for convenience: There were several malls nearby and restaurants, markets and shopping centers were close. Car parking: Overall good, but there is no space after 9pm so you have to use the valet service or walk along the street. Overall, the facilities and location were too good for the price. A hotel that impressed us as a honeycomb.

GGuest UserThe location is awesome and very near the town centre. The food choices around the hotel are great. The hotel room we got (Level 1) faces the beach and it’s great, except that it is not the cleanest as we saw 1 lizard and at least 10 cockroaches. That may be due to the room being on Level 1. We did not bother changing room as we were there for a short while only and we had unpacked all of our items by the time we realize the presence of all the creepy crawlies. The amenities are good, with laundry, ice machine and microwave. The breakfast buffet is forgettable but the service staff are all nice.

PPono_SmittyThe location is superb. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops nearby. The pool area for the hotel rooms is gorgeous; the one for the villas is dismal at best. While we stayed at the villa area of the hotel, I can highly recommend staying on the hotel side. The rooms are large and lovely. The villas are a different story. They are very tight, space wise, but nicely outfitted. I really do not care for the bathroom location in the 1 bedroom units. I will say they did a good job using the space they had to with on the villas, they are just very tight. I don’t think I would be comfortable with anymore than 2 people in a 1 bedroom villa. There is not much of a view from the villa section…only those on the top floor are going to get a peekaboo view of the ocean. The most annoying thing about the villa side is the noice from the patios. You can hear everything on everyone’s patio. It just resonates off the pool on the villa side. Everything else, including the exterior grounds and on site restaurants, are excellent.

GGuest UserI hate to give a poor review, but I want to make people enough information to decide for themselves. Pros: The location was great (about a 5 minute drive from the airport and a 5-10 minute walk to a number of restaurants and an ABC store). The 2 bedroom condo was spacious and had 2 full baths and 2 lanais. The stencils on the walls were charming. Cons: If you are a neat freak you might want to look elsewhere. The tile floors were not very clean. I tried to wipe down the floors in the main living area, but we still ended up cleaning our feet off before putting our shoes on to leave. The bathrooms were reasonable as to cleanliness. Another thing to consider is that our unit didn't have central air. There were 3 window units (1 in each bedroom and another in the living area). They operate on a timer and they are loud so it makes it a little hard to fall asleep.

GGuest UserI loved my stay here! I rented an ocean-facing, ground floor room and was not disappointed. The sunrise every morning was superb! Everything was close by, food/restaurant options were plenty, and there is a nice long walking path along the ocean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It's hard to rate the ”service” since I was only there for 3 days (they don't clean the rooms unless you stay for 5).

GGuest UserLoved it! Best hotel experience ever on Earth! Fantastic! Better than the Westin! Better than luxury condos! I loved the experience of being at Kauai's Hilton Garden Inn. It was my first time on the island of Kauai, and I really wanted a real experience but also luxury. Included in my hotel stay were 1) awesome ukulele lessons by Kalani Joe that had me playing real songs in minutes, 2) awesome hula dancing lessons (that taught me a whole, real hula dance with good technique and with a gorgeous view of the ocean by Kiana, and 3) awesome ti leaf and orchid lei making classes that enabled me to make a complete and beautiful Hawaiian flower necklace from local raw materials (leaves and flowers) by Kiana. We also saw an exciting fire dancing show at the hotel; in this show were the most dangerous, heart-stopping stunts I have ever seen. The show also included hula dancing and beautiful live music. The hotel restaurant/bar, Mamahune's, has the best French fries I have ever tasted and (completely delicious and vegetarian) taro burger with pineapple jam that I liked so much, I would travel to Kauai just to eat the taro burger with pineapple jam. Also at the hotel, the concierge, Courtney, is fantastic and gave us great, real advice that led us to great experiences; she surfs and snorkels and gives good advice. Additionally, the hotel is located right at a state park with the safest (and good) snorkeling right at the beach in front of the hotel, in two ponds protected by rocks. In the larger of the two small protected ponds, I saw bluefin trevally, saddle wrasses, tangs, sergeant major fish, and many more kinds of colorful fish of relatively large size. The hotel offers all good coffee in the morning and chilled, tasty POG (punch) in the afternoon, and the front desk staff led by Amy are great! The vibe of the rooms is relaxing and feels good. Furthermore, the swimming pool is the exact ideal temperature for swimming and just enjoying the pool in daytime or at night and is surrounded by beautiful flowering plants and a spectacular sunset view. Another great thing about this hotel is the interior design: it feels like a movie or TV set for Charlie's Angels. Also, of note, the hotel next to a very important historical and spiritual site for Hawaiians. If you are interested in history, culture, religion, spiritualism, authentic experiences, this site is a place to respectfully visit. Loved this hotel! I want to book another vacation there asap. Great rooms, service, and location! Hotel highlights: Luxury · Great view · Romantic · Quiet · Kid-friendly · Great value Rooms: large rooms, great views, comfy bed, good shower tub, includes refrigerators, cabinets, microwave Nearby activities: protected snorkel/swim area, beach, important historical/spiritual site Safety: very safe Walkability: great. Mamahune's restaurant and bar on the property, very short walk to swimming/snorkeling protected beach area, very short walk to significant historical site Foo

GGuest UserThis is a very nice property, and the grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The gym is better than the average hotel gym but needs some love (elliptical clunky) and better A/C. The room was generally clean and up to date (we were in the recently renovated section) but the carpet was dirty. We booked a partial ocean with pool view room. Initially they tried to give us a room on the ground floor which would have a laughable ocean view if at all. Upon our objection they gave us a second-floor room which more or less looked like the example on the web page. Had an issue with ants that they quickly addressed. Beach was small and the water not really swimmable due to rocky bar about 20ft out causing roughness (not an issue for us but may be for others). Had breakfast and dinner once each in the hotel. Not impressive for a hotel of this caliber/price range thus opted to eat elsewhere other days (5-night stay). Overall, it is a nice hotel and would have given it a 5 star except the various little things noted above kind of add up. We'll probably try something different next time.

GGuest UserLocation is great and the property is extremely clean and quiet. Our room was very outdated ( early 80's for furniture, carpet, bathroom) but clean and everything worked. It was spacious but bare minimum in kitchen for supplies, the coffee pot is super tiny. My only complaint is you can't extend your stay for late check out or additional day, that really impacts people on hikes and etc. We had to pack our stuff out (530am) and couldn't do late check out to come back to pack and shower. The young desk clerks stated policy for late check out was call morning of after 9am. That's ridiculous because most tourist are traveling across island exploring early. We asked at 815pm night before and staff couldn't give us late check out for next day, that's a deal breaker for us coming back to this property and was absolutely not willing to check or call management, for this reason I would avoid property if you have early tours or adventures. No one wants to pack out 5am without opportunity for late check out.
