We loved everything in this hotel. It was our forth time in the island and every time we go to koh phangan we go to high life. The team, the food, the location, the swimming pool, the attention of the staff, everything it's just perfect, we love it so much. Thanks for an amazing vacation, we are looking forward to be back soon :)

High Life turned out to be one of our favourite places on the island! Even though we weren’t staying in the hotel, the staff were super attentive and welcoming to us. The food, as well as the cocktails, were amazing. The pool with its view over Haad Yao beach is definitely the highlight. We stayed in a resort on the other side of the island but ended up coming back twice during our stay. The owner noticed and expressed how grateful they were that we took the long way just to spend a few hours in their resort. Hospitality at its finest!! Next time we’re back on Koh Phangan, we will definitely make sure to stay a few nights in High Life.

The highest point about this accommodation is the location …. It’s on a great beach which is literally steps away! The accommodation itself was less than average…. I booked a room next to the pool as everything else was booked out. This would never be my choice and as expected there was zero privacy and I had to keep the curtains closed at all times. The bathroom utterly stank the whole time! It smelt like sewerage and you felt dirtier coming out than going in. No milk provided so couldn’t even have a cup of coffee. Upstairs (my accommodation was two stories) was so hot it was unbearable being up there. Even with aircon on it didn’t cool down. Pretty run down, average accommodation at best. The staff were pretty rude and unhelpful! The location is the whole reason for the two stars of my review! There is a birds nest table that has a sensational view of the beach and the beach itself which is down a set of stairs is the best part of this place by far! There is a couple of cafe’s within walking distance, otherwise a ride in a songthaew will get you around (always fun)! If I had to return here I would stay in a room as far away from the pool as possible! But would likely stay elsewhere

Thoroughly enjoyed my stayed here. The rooms are comfortable with an authentic Thai feel. Far from modern but that isn’t something to worry about with this place. The pool and restraunt area are second to none. Great food and even better service by the staff, you really can’t fault this place.

So yes the view from the pool and the restaurant are magnificent but that's ALL! We are very disappointed with the value for money of this hotel (we have stayed in several on Koh Samui, Pha-ngan and Tao): the sea view rooms are aging and poorly maintained, the bathrooms are very basic. No beach...so yes there is access but at very low tide at the bottom of steep steps, you arrive on rocks. It's really not great. There is music constantly at the pool level, not much calm. The pool is small and fills up very quickly. We strongly advise against this hotel, it is better to go to Cookies Salad right next door which has much nicer and larger rooms and has breakfast included for the same price.

Simply great! It's simply fantastic! We knew it through friends! The hotel has a great view of the sea and the bay of Haad Yao! The rooms (we had a standard bungalow with sea view) are beautiful! But all the bungalows, whether garden view or the better category, look great. Even these with a bathtub. The hotel restaurant has very good food and the price-performance ratio is appropriate for the location and the view. There is also a hot selection - Thai, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, bowls, vegan, fish etc. (main courses from €3-4). We usually ate there once a day. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool is fantastic with a view of the bay! It is very sunny, but it is worth it. We were mostly on the beach, nice and quiet, enough bars and restaurants. Lots of stairs down, but everything is doable. But you have to be aware of that, including lots of stairs to the bungalows. Taxis etc. can be ordered easily from the hotel. 7/11 can be reached via the beach or road in about 10 minutes! Breakfast Café whats Cup in 2-3 min. We will book it again.

The bungalows are basic but have everything you need for your stay. They have a safe, dressing table with a stool , tv, very comfy bed and a balcony. We opted for the sea view one and wasn’t disappointed at all. The bungalows are cleaned everyday if you want, you just have to leave the sign outside your door. Beach towels are provided and changed for clean ones if you need it. Also shower gel and hand soap in the bathroom. The location of High Life bungalows is up high on the edge of the island so there are a lot of steps down to your bungalow depending which one you have also the steps continue down to the pool, Restuarant and to the beautiful beach. This is not at all for someone who isn’t very energetic because the weather is very hot at times so climbing back up is tough at times. But is also great exercise. The restaurant servers nice food and has a good selection to choose from. They do a great Mai Tai cocktail and healthy fruit shakes. You can also hire a scooter from high life which is a must if you want to see around this beautiful island.

I cannot recommend Highlife bungalows highly enough. It’s a great place to stay a full package. The room is clean and maintained. Well the staff are accent and friendly. The food is good and my day was excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone but it’s very hard to get in. It’s always busy because it’s a good place to stay.
