3 stations from JR Kyoto Station, a 5-minute walk from Nijo Station on the subway Tozai Line, and a very convenient location right next to Sanjo Shopping Street, the longest shopping mall in Kyoto City. It looks like a machiya hotel along an alley in a residential area, but there is a large dining space and a communal kitchen in the lobby on the first floor. It is a newly built hotel that was just built this year, and there are 3 washing machines on each floor, which is very convenient for long stays. The rooms are full of beds, but the bathrooms are average size and the rooms with kitchens are said to be slightly larger. Just like a one-room apartment, there are many people who stay for a long time, and it seems that all the guests are getting along well with the kind men at the front desk and the international student staff, just like a boarding house. I felt it.

This hotel is located right near the intersection of Shijo Horikawa. I checked in at midnight, but the front desk was kind and I was able to respond without a disgusting face. The room was clean and the amenities were substantial, and there was a USB port for charging, which was very helpful. However, probably because it was a premise to use a large communal bath, there was only a shower booth in the room. It may be a negative for those who want to slowly soak in the bathtub in the room. Personally, I was happy with the large communal bath, so there was no problem at all. It was also good that the transportation was convenient. From the Shijo Horikawa bus stop, you can go not only to Kyoto Station, but also to famous tourist spots such as Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu-dera, Toji, Nijo Castle, Arashiyama, and you can go to Gion and downtown Kawaramachi without changing trains. You will need to change trains once, but you can also go to Nanzenji Temple and Ginkakuji Temple. If you walk a little, you will find Hankyu Omiya Station and Arashiden Shijo Omiya Station, and it is very accessible for sightseeing or business. There is a Family Mart just south of the hotel, and there are 7-Eleven ahead, so you don't have to worry about a little shopping. The accommodation fee was reasonable and it is a recommended hotel.

It's a nice hotel with a good location, easy enough to find from the train station. The rooms are clean and cozy. What was disappointing was the service at front desk. Not friendly or welcoming at all as compared to our stay in other cities like Osaka. We were even shuned away for breakfast as we wore the traditional Yukatas that were provided by the hotel, as the front desk said we couldn't wear it at the breakfast lounge and had to either go back up to change or we could take a small box of bread and pastries (that were cold) and we could eat in our rooms instead.

The water in the bathroom is very weak and bathing takes a long time, which is very unpleasant. However, there is a bus stop near this hotel. It is very convenient to go to the JR station. The streets nearby are also quiet. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants. There is only a Royal Host Western restaurant. The service is very good and the food is delicious.

It was a comfortable room with simple and necessary things. The roll curtain and bed cover in the room are different for each room, so I look forward to what room it will be every time. Amenities are in the lobby so it is a style to bring what you need. There is no bathtub and only shower. The coffee in the lobby is free at your favorite timing. I can read manga freely, so I was able to spend a leisurely time reading cartoons and working remotely in the lobby.

Very pleased with the level of care put into this hostel. All rooms are extremely clean, and the beds are comfortable and quiet. Despite the rooms holding up to around 15-20 people, it is extremely quiet and the bed pods are dark. Shower area was extremely clean and we were provided fresh towels every day. There is a comfortable sitting area with free coffee and access to Netflix. We had a very comfortable stay here and I would come back !

I just stayed for two days. I was a little scared at first because there was no information about this hotel, but after I checked in, I found it to be very cost-effective! New hotel, about 2-3 minutes walk from the station. There is aeon nearby, as well as Akechi Mitsuhide statue and castle. If your itinerary is mainly Arashiyama, this hotel is very good. It is very fast to get to Arashiyama and there are beautiful scenery to see on the way! Many people are taking photos at Hojinkyo Station. It’s not expensive during the maple leaf season, it includes breakfast, and you can even take a bath! ! The night shift counter lady is very cute😏! ! ! ! ! And English is very good! Single decisive exchange phone numbers! The room was clean. There were no people on the street at night. My view was of the hotel and apartment opposite, but the space in the middle was very open and felt comfortable. In addition to the TV cabinet, there is also a table for guests to put things on when dining, as well as a small sofa and a chair. Add points! ! ! In addition, the breakfast is also delicious. Most of the guests I see are Japanese. It takes two minutes to the subway station, and there is also aeon, Mitsuhide Akechi statue and castle nearby. When visiting Kyoto, we wanted to enjoy some time in an onsen resort so we decided to spend two nights in Ogoto Onsen. After checking the details in their website, we booked a ”Biwa no kaze”room with private onsen and view of Lake Biwako. And we were not disappointed. The room looks newly renovated, and is very spacious with two beds and sitting area plus a tatami room. They offer different dinner packages, and we have chosen crab with steak as the main dishes for the first night, and lobster with shabu-shabu the second night. The foods were of very high quality, tasted and looked very nice. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of different items. The ryokan is excellent in nearly all aspects. We would stay here again when we next visit Kyoto.

6699nigelaStayed here for 6 nights. Staff fantastic, room modern with all usual Japanese up to date bathroom facilities. Just a 6 min walk from Kyoto central station so access to all other areas in Kyoto either by train, subway or bus very easy. Free extras were the afternoon tea, happy hour drinks and evening supper - rice with sauce and nibbles. A couple of the major Buddhist temples 5 ,10 and 20 mins walk also the Japanese railway museum. Loads of food choices at and around the station. Very clean and affordable.

GGuest UserAccommodation that only sleeps for users who want to save accommodation costs. Facilities / rooms are new, clean and clean. The room is large enough to have a single bed (thick mattress). There is no TV, toilet, wash basin, shower booth and toilet are shared. Bed making, garbage disposal, self-service, amenities are only toothbrushes. It is a short walk from Gojo Subway Station, so it is easy to access and suitable for sightseeing. Considering the service side, I think the cospa is bad.

There’s even a separate laundry room and dryer and sauna their customers can use. They also provided baggage storage when the room is not ready yet. Even after checking out, they allowed us to leave our baggage with them to go get a quick bite before heading to the airport. Great service and vibes. Will definitely book this hotel again for my next trip!

GGuest UserI used double － m for one person, but when I entered the room one step, I thought, ”Is it not so large?” In fact, when I was arranging my luggage in the room and moving color 々, I realized that if I was alone, I would take a room that was quite easy to use. I didn't eat at night for one night, but all other places such as lounge and receptionist have a luxury feeling and luxury feeling, but I feel at home somewhere I felt it was a lodging facility to say ”I travel to live”.

GGuest UserWe had an excellent stay at this Machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) for 3 days. We only did in-room dining one night, but that was also excellent. The check-in process is a little strange, as you will receive communication from the company that's a little dense and will not interact directly with the staff unless you choose to. We had to scan and send our passport photos and fill out a registration card, but that was it. The property is small by European/American standards in the sense that you will need to be careful to avoid damaging (including possibly your own head) things during your stay due to height and luggage weight. There's slippers provided to switch from your walking shoes to walking inside the property and there is an excellent bathtub and washroom with washer. My two cautions - this firm has English speaking employees available during business hours (and an emergency line) but it is geared primarily towards the Japan renter. Be prepared to know Japanese or be willing to take the time to translate certain things via your cell phone/app of your choice to understand how to work the various appliances. As an older building, learning the heating/cooling. The second caution, as an older building sound is an issue. You will hear the street and need to control your volume in order to be a polite guest. If this isn't something you're looking to do, then just throw the money at a more modern hotel experience. We liked it - not everyone will.
