Hotels Near Gunung Kuang Trail Head in Langkawi

Don't be fooled by the 4.5 rating, because I certainly was! The only thing this hotel offers is big rooms! And not much else! The location is a big disadvantage, because all the main attractions are far away. You would either have to get a taxi every time, or rent a car or scooter. Car is better because of the distances, but it's more expensive. We were very happy that the hotel offers scooter rentals. However, sometimes the scooters are all in use, so then you're stuck. We were only able to get a scooter from our second day at the hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. Back to the rooms - they had white lighting, which is a bit tasteless and makes it a bit too casual. You can fix that with the bedside lamps, though. The rooms also have mini fridges, which is always a plus point. My main issue was the bathroom; the placement / height of the wash basin, with the tiny shelf directly on top of the faucet - barely giving any space in between - was VERY uncomfortable to use. There is a normal way in which things are meant to be positioned, but this was completely absurd. The toilet and shower were all *one* area, albeit big. No boundaries, no borders, no cut-off point separating the two. So when you shower, the whole bathroom floor gets wet - and stays that way. I wouldn't have minded, had they provided wipers. The toilet paper was not great quality, and its holder was worse - when trying to put the roll in, it broke in the first instance. The toilet seat was slightly flimsy. The shower pressure was good, but the water not as hot as desired - despite keeping the geyser on the whole time. There was no proper space to keep things like shampoo. Breakfast: They have the shortest breakfast timings I've seen at any hotel 😂, namely 8am-10am (two hours). It is served inside the room. They give us a choice from four local items (from which we have to choose *one* for each day), plus toast & butter/jam, plus tea or coffee. We have to make the tea/coffee ourselves with the kettle in our room. They already apply the butter/jam on the toast for you, which is good for lazy people like me. And it was quite tasty! The local items were okay; it varies from palate to palate, whether one would like them or not. I liked three out of four, though they were quite oily. All that said, it was THE most basic breakfast I've ever had at any hotel. It only works as a preventive measure from going crazy with hunger right when you get up in the morning 😂 Speaking of food - because of the location of the place, there are no restaurants you can get to by foot (as far as I know), and even GrabFood Delivery had very limited options (we survived on ordering McDonalds for lunch). One good thing was that, unlike other hotels, there was a water dispenser in the lobby, free to use whenever we wanted. Hence, we never ran out of water. Very peaceful and huge room, clean and quiet.especially boss and manager are very kind, other staffs work hard to keep garden and swimming pool clean and clear. Like to rent one month and far away noisey and crowded places

I was here during LIMA 2023. Near to airport. Save time and transport cost by walking to exhibition hall. The best stay ever! The environment was pleasant and welcoming. Both check in and out were professionally handled and easy. I loved the Wings Afternoon Tea at the Wings Lounge& Jazz. It's really cosy and relaxing after spending hours in LIMA hall. I can even watch spectacular scene's of flights cruising through the viewing deck. And of course I enjoyed the most my drinks by the pool bar. I would definitely recommend this luxury resort in Langkawi to my family and friends in USA.

The best way to describe this hotel is, a 3-star hotel with a 4-5 star resort personality and quality :) While searching online prior to booking, I found that it is 3-star and boutique level (I have learned in the past during my few stays in LGK, 3-star on actual site is often actually 2-star and less) which admittedly, already sealed my expectations but I was banking on it being revamped and newly launched few months ago so worth a check-out. While the front facade is newly painted and looks like a shop lot converted hotel, my oh my, the moment you enter the Reception area, everything is so well designed and nowhere near its first impression - and the Bayou was definitely being sneaky on me with its amazing pool backyard view! Room was great and as aesthetically pleasing as advertised, breakfast was a good spread and staff was superbly friendly. It felt like we were in a resort hotel in spite of its location. Another thing that I enjoy here is the openness of the Lobby area with ample seating areas, separated by flexible sliding glass doors which made the area more spacious than it actually is - the design is very clever. This wild card was definitely worth it!

Had a pleasant stay here at Lavigo Resort. Close to Chenang and other attractions. Relaxing, clean, beautiful and peaceful place, provided if the visitors are following the house rules ie: loud noise, speakers, party drinks, food & beverages at the pool. We did found a beer bottle cap in the adult pool, meaning there is/are visitors who didn't care about the house rules, who should stay somewhere else. We stayed 3D2N in a superior triple room. Room & bathroom are clean. Complete with toiletries, towels, kettle, coffee, cups, hairdryer, tv, mini fridge. In the exterior; swings and pondoks with hammock in each of them. Clean, good-sized pools for adult and kids (with floats and balls for them to play). Had a chance to meet with its kind and friendly owner and housekeeper. This is so much more than a 2-star resort could offer.

If you lived in a black and white house in Singapore or any of the pre war heritage houses, you would love this resort. Located only 10 minutes drive from the airport and 30 mins from Kuah and the Cemang beach a 20 mins walk away. Shout out to Resort Manager Irene Vairo, she is a friendly and cat lover manager who is always around to help, as the houses are heritage, dont expect everything to work perfectly. The restaurant is also excellent with live bands every Monday.

Check in was smooth since we arrived quite late. We call in advance to inform our eta arrival later than expected due to flight delayed. We got bee building facing the sea. Everything inside the room is clean. Tv channel have astro. Malibest is well known for its location, in the middle busy street Chenang and its hospitality and well clean room! So far it meet my expectation. Just one thing, the hotel parking too limited. Overall, this place will be my favourite place to stay in langkawi sith affordable price.

RWL is always our preference when we travel to langkawi for Short Vacation. The location are perfect which not far from Airport and Pantai Cenang. The most we like is about the Sea View Room with balcony. We can spend our time for chatting and sunrise with in the morning. Is worth to stay with this property!

Front desk service is excellent, efficient, full of smiles, I couldn't ask for more. However the sea view I got was one that came with two rows of sandbags and iron bridge on a stretch of beach that's without lounge chairs and definitely not suitable for swimming. The chalet's design is pretty old evident from the window lock and balcony door lock. Set dinner at Spice Market was out of this world! Must try! There are two restaurants available for hotel breakfast every morning and you can visit both every day. Housekeeping was really slow, I hope they can increase staff efficiency in this department since they even forgot to include a hair dryer for me in the room and I had to call to ask for one. I hereby include a picture of their hairdryer, I'm surprised a 4 digits per night hotel offers such a tiny hairdryer. I wasn't expecting Dyson but this is just wow. anyway, allow me to repeat, front desk staff was fabulous!

The location of the hotel is perfect for travellers who like to stay by the beach and experience a beautiful view of the ocean. The beach is a hop skip and jump away and also has direct access from the hotel room. All sight seeing locations are equidistant and easily reachable. Added advantage is its proximity to the airport. The hotel staff are kind, friendly and cheerful. There was a slight confusion with my room allocation, but it was swiftly managed by the reception staff who upgraded me to a room with sea view. The swimming pool is clean and well maintained. The hotel did offer only breakfast in its restaurant. It would have been an added advantage if they had a fully functional kitchen as it is hard to find food (especially for a vegetarian) close by.
