The bathroom smelled like urine and the shower's water was not as hot as I would have wanted, but the location (right next to one of the two railway stations) was excellent. Helpful staff too, in spite of the language barrier.

Very conveniently positioned just 90 seconds walk from Lanzhou huochezhan. Nearest Metro station is @ Lanzhou university about 10 minutes north on same main road. Not too expensive. Old school furnishings and could use retrofitted powerpoints and/or USB sockets nearer to bed, but still good quality overall. WiFi ok. Bathroom better than averagewith shower separated by glass enclosure.

Let me first give my personal conclusion. The hotel is in a good location, but the service is really bad. The store is big and bullies customers. When there is a problem, they will only say sorry, but they will not solve the problem. The rights of customers are not important at all. I checked in before 6 pm on May 1st. When I checked in, I heard the staff saying that something was broken and was still being repaired. I didn't care and checked in. Because I didn't remember that there was a free room upgrade, and the front desk didn't mention it, I was not sure whether it would be upgraded. I found that the light in the room was very dark when I checked in, especially the position of the corner table. Because I needed to work, I called the indoor landline to contact the front desk. What was outrageous was that the landline was broken! It couldn't be used! I patiently called the hotel phone number written on the room card, but it was also broken! The line was not connected! I could only go down to the front desk myself. The front desk went into the room and looked at it. The explanation I gave me was that they had no main light design, and the room was like this.
