Launceston Hotels with Airport pickup service

Best Western Launceston is a basic, but clean, safe, comfortable well-priced hotel in the centre of Launceston. It's well positioned for the Botanic Gardens and monkey enclosure, right in the centre of the city, and not too far from the river. The room had everything you'd need, or expect, for this price. But what raised the place for me was the service. On a badly delayed flight I didn't arrive until after midnight, but the night manger appeared swiftly, helped me check in, and never once complained about being dragged to the front desk in the middle of the night.

We stayed here in September 2022 and just loved our visit. The hotel was exceptionally vibrant, clean, modern, well located and had brilliant service. The rooms are very comfortable with big areas around beds with room to move and put belongings and the bathrooms were very clean and modern. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the hotel was very well located within easy walking distance of downtown areas. We especially loved the beautiful foyer area and accessible bar and restaurant areas. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel is quite big in Launceston. The front desk staff is very good. They are very enthusiastic and proactive in solving various problems. The room is very spacious, the floor height is very high, the facilities are good, the parking is free, the breakfast is a set meal, the taste is very good.

I had to overnight in Launceston, leaving early the next morning. Thought the Pod Inn proved just about perfect for my needs, starting with the very reasonable tariff. It was my first stay in a pod and possibly won't be my last, though I think staying more than two days would test the friendship. My sleep quality was great but I could imagine things could get a bit claustrophobic after a couple of nights. Otherwise, check-in was good, everything well explained. Pod itself was lockable, comfy, roomy for one and I loved the lighting options. Noise wasn't a problem, though maybe I was lucky on that count. The kitchen was clean if a little small while the common room/dining area more spacious. Common bathroom was clean when I visited but could imagine it becoming pretty grungy. The showers were really good, though. Towels supplied but not soap (or shampoo etc).

Very minimal, shabby rooms of doubtful cleanliness, at maximal expense. Explicitly states that no service is offered, so to that extent at least the management is honest! But if you are staying two nights or more, you only get one night's worth of tea/coffee/milk/towels etc, even though you are paying for these items in the room charge. We had booked and paid for two rooms, but when I arrived the receptionist rudely said I could not check in 'because I did not have the same name as the person who booked', and I would jolly well have to wait until the person who booked arrived. (Actually, the person who booked was my daughter-in-law.) This is an extremely rude, discriminatory, and just plain stupid thing to say. For example, a husband and wife could have different names, and arrive separately. Also, I arrived at 3 pm, but what if my daughter-in-law arrived at 10 pm? The polite thing to do would be for the receptionist simply to ask if she could have a word with my daughter-in-law on the phone, or see a text message. Another point: the rudest, most aggressive utterance in the 'hospitality' industry is 'Can I help you?' spoken loudly through gritted teeth and rictus smile. The receptionist really ought to book a course at charm school. If - despite all - you are thinking of staying here, keep in mind that it is a very steep, long walk down to the city centre - and back up. The Coach House is not suitable for children, as the upper storey concrete walkways and steps are extremely dangerous for toddlers.

This is a no service establishment. Nobody at reception at 7:30PM...refused a meal or entry to restaurant at 7:50PM. Empty fridge, not ever cold water was no noisy we had to unplug it. Aircon constantly made a short loud buzzing noise even when turned off. Pillows made of rocks. The final night (Sunday 10th) there was a function across the courtyard. We measured music at 90db from 5:00 PM to 10:20 PM We explained that we needed to get up at 04:30 AM for flights out....nobody cared about this situation. The night manager came knocking on our door at 8:45 PM to tell us that the noise will go until 11:00PM. I told him ”BS we want a refund and slammed the door. Don't ever stay at this circus of a hotel.

The location is very good, it is very convenient to go shopping, there are supermarkets and Asian Super League nearby. The staff at the counter was very nice and friendly, and introduced us to nearby restaurants and attractions. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

An iconic piece of Launceston history. A beautiful building containing beautiful furnishings throughout - particularly loved the wood furniture. Great location. A warm welcome from friendly, helpful Jude was the start to a most enjoyable stay. Spacious room with a very comfy bed. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. All good! Highly recommended.
