Karavados Beach Hotel

A very peaceful place.

This hotel has wonderful staff who are friendly and helpful, is very clean and the food is good. We were originally given a room in a separate block at the top of a hill and askedto be moved because of mobility issues. We were given an alternative room the second day of our stay in the main block without any problem. However it is let down by its rooms which are small, overcrowded, very dated and lacking basic amenities. The air con is inadequate and our bed quite uncomfortable. We had to ask for a kettle which was provided but without any cups or provisions. We didn't even have any glasses in the room and had to take plastic cups from the bar. It is only a 3 star but the rooms could be much improved through fairly simple refurbishment and updating. A double and a single bed are squeezed in and removal of the superfluous bed would make the room seem more spacious. The bathroom, although functional, is also very dated. The public areas were fine and the pool good although the sun beds were quite uncomfortable. The hotel is quite remote and the nearest shop is a very long walk away. However the hotel does sell basics like water. The nearest beach (10-15 mins walk) is tiny but there is a daily bus to the small town of Lordes with it's blue flag beach.

What a fantastic stay and superb value for money. We paid £958.88 for 2 adults with Easyjet Holidays from Bristol for a week 4th Sept 2024 - luggage, transfers, seat booking all in. The hotel is situated in a quiet area which suits us. We hired a car as we love to explore, but if you like to relax by the pool or take a very short walk to the stunning small beach with the most beautiful taverna, you won't be disappointed. We were told by other guests that a bus service was reliable if you wanted to visit the nearby towns. Buy a Sun umbrella, most beaches have very reasonable loungers to hire, some are free such as in Antisamos, just buy a drink, waiters don't hassle you, they're very nice, but the Sun umbrella will be a welcomed bit of shade if you want to lay on your towels! The hotel itself some would say that the decor/furnishings are dated, but cleanliness isn't a problem. A tiny issue in our bathroom, a broken tile fixed messily with some filler!! The bedroom furniture and doors again they're dated, but these things don't bother us. Our beds were made beautifully and rooms cleaned daily and when we needed fresh towels, we left the used ones on the shower floor and were left clean ones. The fridge in our room was a fab addition to keep cold drinks and the aicon was very effective. THE STAFF - I've never been anywhere where the staff have been exceptionally polite, happy, smiley and helpful without being EXTRA!!!! Thank you all. Breakfast is great, love the idea of making very small changes to some options daily so that you have something different to choose instead of seeing the same thing day in, day out. Cocktails 4-6pm only €6 and are incredible made with branded spirits. To conclude, we had a fantastic holiday at this hotel and Kefalonia is well worth a visit.

Simply amazing - views, pool, walks and super super amazing were the staff - love them all - went for the first time In 2023 and went back this year - they are what makes this holiday so special and so hard to go home. Food is a different level - went B&B as like our freedom, ate every night in the hotel - pizza is sublime xx

The whole experience was very nice, room was quite old fashioned but clean, people were super friendly and helpful. I especially have to highlight local chef lady that prepares the best meals in whole Greece and we really thank you for that :)

This holiday was made especially wonderful by all the staff at the hotel. I travelled with a baby and they were all so welcoming and happy to help that any problems we had were soon forgotten. All the staff made this stay a special one. I would recommend this hotel for families.
