Me and my wife stayed here for the weekend of 15-17th of November. We woke up after the first night about 8am with a toilet that wouldn't flush. We then soon found out that the was no water to shower, wash our teeth etc. I went and spoke to staff downstairs and they explained that "Crisis Management" was on their way to investigate the issue and issue a repair soon. Me and my wife gave them the benefit of the doubt and after we were headed 2 small bottles of water, we did what we could to clean ourselves up and go about our day. Many hours later we return to the hotel (3pm). We are told that the contractors had just arrived despite being told they were on their way at 8am. We then notice no new customers were being checked in. When I asked they said it was because they didn't know if they could get the issue fixed and may need to move them to another hotel. I explained that we had theater tickets that evening and really didn't have time to wait or we may miss our show, which cost several hundred of £. The staff didn't know what to say. They kept apologising and when I asked where the manager was we were told that the manager was with the contractors trying to solve the issue. At no point during the day did any member of the management team show themselves. It was a complete disgrace. The staff we left to shoulder the entire burden and blame. As a manager of a commercial property with a team myself, I understand things go wrong at times but you must address. Instead we were one of nearly 30 people all being told they can go to another hotel but no clear instructions on which one. And when taxis were supposedly arranged and paid for in advance for the customers, they weren't and taxis either never showed or were not paid for. I asked for a taxi because I am a ex-cancer patient with a total knee replacement and heart failure. But in the chaos, the taxi never came. Me and my wife eventually agreed to talk to the alternative hotel due to the risk of missing out theater show. When we arrive our reservation hadn't even been transferred over, resulting in another 30 minutes wait. All in all the stay was horrendous. There was no control or management of the situation, just staff that were sadly way out of their depth. I honestly cannot believe that after asking for a taxi, nothing was arranged resulting in making a person with a total knee replacement and heart failure to walk 30 minutes across London with luggage. As a final insult, I've heard nothing since other than an automated email asking me to leave a review. No apology or response of any kind. Very un-happy.
