Quirky, boutique style Hotel in a great location for shopping, theatres etc.. but our experience meant no sleep at all! Unfortunately our room (115, first floor) had a balcony/window which opened right onto an events/club (HERE at Outernet) which has day & night events so non stop continuous noise & queues right outside. Night events going on after 4am so be prepared for no sleep. Not just noisy from the music but from queues of screaming/shouting people right outside. We were assured on arrival that we wouldn't hear anything from our room and it was quiet but sadly this was the complete opposite. We did raise the issue after our first night and considered checking out but again we were reassured there wouldn't be noise as there wasn't an event on that evening. I suppose we shouldn't have trusted it but we did and yet again another sleepless night as there was a night event that hadn't been advertised! It was a rare birthday treat (escaping 2 children) which sadly left us both exhausted but mainly frustrated that staff weren't truthful or overly bothered with helping us. We also had cigarette smoke coming through our Bathroom Saturday morning apparently from a guest smoking in their room! I had to follow up on this issue as again no-one seemed too bothered about it. Im still waiting for a reply from the manager! Couple of other things to note the extra service charge is true - you'll be charged unbeknown from the deposit, no kettle/water/milk in rooms. but these are minor issues compared to getting no sleep which in my opinion is one of the main objectives of a good hotel....

Just a perfect hotel. We stay here a few times a year. The staff are friendly and recognise us with a genuine (I think) welcome back each time. A special shout out to Nicky at the concierge desk on this trip. He went out of his way to secure Kit Kemp Alphabet mugs from a local store and had them delivered to my room. Absolutely awesome!

Nice hotel in a great location close to the underground and within walking distance of the British Museum and Covent Garden. Standard double room was quiet and clean. Buffet breakfast had plenty of choice and was good quality.

Good hotel, management service is very good, other evaluations refer to my previous evaluation, here is to say that the hotel is good in other aspects: to Edinburgh for two days to store luggage is free, the basement and laundry room is really convenient. It is convenient to go to the bathroom at night, but it is also very convenient, because every 5 rooms will have a shared bathroom and shower room, and the large kitchen is super easy to use, every day is in place, so the room is not tasteful.

Checked in today and room had air con units right outside window - unsightly and noisy. We mentioned this at reception and the response was immediate and positive. Lydia was so considerate, professional, kind and caring. She offered us an alternative room which was extremely satisfactory. The room was fantastic and the staff at reception, bar and restaurant were exemplary. A great welcome and a great stay. Rooms were immaculately clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you all.

It was a simple hotel, but it was a place where I wanted to understand everything else for breakfast that seemed to be dressed in a warm Korean dress in a British family. As it was old, the facilities were very old and narrow, but they were friendly and warm family-like people.

First time in a hostel by myself. Everyone seemed very welcoming and friendly. Facilities were good and worked well. Reception is open 24/7 which is always useful. Communal areas were nice also. Location is great, particularly if you wish to go to the British Museum. Definitely bring an eye mask and some ear plugs. The lamp lights on the bed are quite bright when the lights are out and also sound travels easy through the building.
