Portbyhan Hotel

Great hotel and restaurant, room was amazing and food was second to none. Being gluten free, they went over and above to adjust the risotto to make it GF friendly. The hotel staff were all really friendly and understanding to the reason my mum and myself were staying, would definitely recommend here to anyone!

As a local, working from home and being deprived of internet access by BT, I had to work from the Portbyhan to get WiFi connection. The staff and management could not have been more welcoming and helpful. I really appreciate their help. The food too is first rate and cooked from scratch on premises - definitely a home from home.

We checked in here at 17:30 on a David Ogden 5 day coach holiday & found that the staff took care of our luggage up to our rooms where we got tea & coffee & then we came back down for dinner at 18:30 where we had 4 choices on all 3 courses. I must say that we had Beef Bourgeon which was superb, I asked to speak to the chef, Idris, to personally thank him. We now look forward to the rest of our week here.

Booked a last minute overnight stay for one night. Very friendly and welcoming staff, lovely clean room, comfy bed and very quiet. Location is fantastic and breakfast was a delight looking right over the river to East Looe. If staying overnight in Looe again and rooms were available here I would definitely stay again.

I stayed here last night with my partner who had booked a room for a birthday surprise. There is a loading area outside whixh you can use whilst checking cases in etc and free parking just 5 mins walk away. The room was clean and cosy and lovely and warm. We had a balcony overlooking the estuary with a great view down towards the sea. Upin entry the hotel staff had provided me with some balloons, a birthday card and a small gift which was a nice surprise and a good touch!!! The Kinsize bed was very comfy and the room quiet with ood glazing. Staff without exception were friendly attentive and did their jobs well. From check in to check out we felt valued and well cared for. We had an evening meal booked which was delicious! It really couldn't be faulted so kudos to their chef and kitchen team. Our table was right by the window offering a nice vista of Looe lit up on an Autumn evening. There are a couple of other pubs etc very close by so evening options are there should you not choose to stay in the hotel bar. Last night we had a drink in it whilst a Singer entertained then headed out across the water to sample some other places. I would highly recommend this hotel - staying as a couple and would love to stay there again. Well done the Portbyhan Hotel team!

We visited here for Sunday lunch as it proved difficult to find anywhere in Looe that we could pre book and that also allowed dogs. The hotel responded quick to my request and booked us in. We enjoyed the carvery, a lot of choice and good value. Great service and we felt fortunate as non residents to be able to visit. We even got in slightly earlier which was a great help too. Definitely recommend!
