Friends, it's very good!
I plan to take my parents abroad to relax during the National Day holiday. After careful selection, I chose Thongbay. Because the company did not inform me of the holiday information in time, I used two apps to book hotels, both of which were Thongbay. The experience can only be said to be very good! When we left the hotel, the two elderly people also expressed high praise and strong reluctance, which made me very relieved.
Our English is not very good, and we are more worried about communication difficulties when we arrive, so I sent an email to the hotel in advance, explaining my itinerary and that I used two apps to book the hotel. The hotel quickly replied to me and said that they understood our itinerary.
When we arrived on the same day, we provided our passports, and the boss quickly got our itinerary and booking status. After a series of thoughtful instructions (including how to order breakfast for the next day, when the hotel can pick us up in the city for free, etc.), the boss took us into our room, which is very local and very clean.
In the room, the boss also told us very considerately and in detail how to use the shower, how to use the air conditioner, how to use the fan, and that we must close the doors and windows from 6:00-7:00pm, because the flower-legged mosquitoes are very dense during this period. During the explanation, as long as there is something that I don’t understand, the boss will patiently explain it again.
On the morning of the second day of check-in, we went to the waterfall. The driver we found came to pick us up in advance and told the boss about our trip to the waterfall. So when we were leaving, the boss stopped us and gave us a backpack, saying that there were towels and other supplies in it. If we finished swimming in the waterfall, we could use the towels inside. Really super considerate!
The most amazing thing is that on the third day of our stay, we went to the charity site and couldn't find the way back to the hotel. We finally followed the map and walked to the vicinity of the hotel. We met the hotel's puppy. The puppy must have gone out to play. When passing by us, it suddenly turned around and walked forward to lead the way. If we walked slowly, it would stop and wait for us. It took us to the door of the hotel. After the hotel owner said morning to us at the door, the puppy wagged its tail and turned around and walked away. Long live the puppy!

This place far exceeded my expectations. The grounds are lovely, you walk through a garden to get to the bungalows on the river. The service is impeccable, down to the little details but also with a warmth that feels like a family welcoming you as new friends vibe rather than servants sucking up to you. Just ridiculously nice and helpful people. Informative check in. There's a pool with sun chairs if you get tired of chilling on the balcony. Food is fantastic, from breakfast delivered to your door to dinner (try the lemon coconut chicken, you'll thank me later). Rooms are in good condition with ac and fan. Wifi everywhere. The only reason this might not be for everyone is it isn't downtown -- but that's also a plus for the peace and quiet and there are free shuttles there and back six times a day (and it's super cheap and quick if the times don't work for you). An absolute steal at this price and if you think it's not a good place to stay there's something seriously wrong with you.

We had a really wonderful stay at Thongbay Guesthouse. Our hosts could not have been more helpful - straight away they offered us an upgrade to a ‘river view’ bungalow as they thought the others might be too busy for us with other families staying. They also made sure we had everything we needed with regards to transport into town and use of swimming pool. Although the guesthouse was a little far from town, they provided free transport in the day and evening which was amazing. It was also possible to walk to town if you really wanted! We thoroughly enjoyed the food served in the restaurant, which we thought was reasonably priced. The bungalows themselves are well cared for and rustic - fantastic value for money. Would recommend staying here for a trip to Luang Prabang.

This place is great! The value is excellent. To have your own bungalow, facing the river, with breakfast every morning brought to your balcony so you can watch the fishermen in the river in the morning. Just spectacular. Also, the gardens on the property are beautiful.

10 out of 10. Everything is good for this hotel. Manager Ti welcomed us warmly and helped us by arranging tour services. Amenities and tropical garden were very exotic. The attitudes of the staffs were amazing. Free shuttle service to the city center and the airport was very convenient. Definitely come back and recommend.

Great guesthouse, our bungalow overlooked the river, very beautiful view, lovely staff, good breakfast (which is very rare). Great swimming pool too.

Back after 14 years because I loved it so much last time. Just a very special place run by a very polite family and staff. Now with a pool which was nice in the hot afternoon. Room service breakfast, helpful with tours, free bikes to borrow, wine ($) in the evening on our verandah. Maybe (and I say maybe because I never tried) a bit far to walk to the old centre for some people but they had shuttles and bikes so I never had a problem.

Our stay at Thongbay Guesthouse was absolutely perfect! The beautiful garden is a true oasis of calm and the bungalows are cozy, clean and well maintained. The pool area is a peaceful oasis with plenty of shady spots. We were particularly impressed by the warm hospitality of the whole team. The breakfast was delicious and the homemade cake a dream! The location is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, but also for excursions: The guesthouse offers a free shuttle to Luang Prabang and organizes great tours in the surrounding area. We also were very grateful for the team's help in forwarding our belongings per mail that we couldn't take with us. We felt completely at home and can highly recommend Thongbay Guesthouse. An absolute gem of a place. Located on the river amongst trees, with superb views downstream to Phousi Hill, this is an excellent guesthouse that is of an excellent standard. The rooms are very comfortable and there is an air of calm and tranquility. The staff are wonderfully friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and are willing and keen to help with any queries or arrangements for trips. The breakfast options are tasty and filling, and can be served on the terraces overlooking the river. The guesthouse also has a shuttle to and from the town centre, so you can enjoy the many restaurants and the night market. Can’t find any faults at all and would thoroughly recommend this to anyone, couples, families, friends.
