Hotel is a short walk from the Alvarado metro stop, which is 6 stops from the Gran Via. Fairly affluent, businessy neighbourhood. Hotel staff courteous. Room opened on to a spacious terrace. (Not all rooms have one.) Double bed had one slim pillow each and squeaky springs. Street can be noisy at night. Bathroom did not have a full door, so lack of privacy if you're sharing. Television stopped working after the first day. Heater did not respond to the remote control. The kitchen had a hob, a fridge with a freezer, some cooking and eating utensils, and a sink. NO oven or microwave. (There was an empty shelf over the cooker that may have contained a microwave once upon a time.) I found that bad form. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was that it offered a kitchen. I was travelling on a low budget and could not afford to eat out. If you're going to promise your guests a kitchen, then that kitchen should contain the kinds of things kitchens normally contain.

I just came back from a 2 night trip to Madrid with friends for my hen do. The hotel was only 15 minutes from the airport, near a metro station, and in a nice area. The rooms were modern and clean, great showers, and the rooftop bar and pool were excellent, especially when it's 37 degrees! My only niggle was that the VIP loungers were too expensive, so unused by anyone while we were there. If the hotel allowed you to pay a nominal fee, as long as you spent X amount on drinks, that would seem fairer. Will be back I hope!

Please Avoid this place. It is cheap but nothing else! I stayed here checked into the receiption which is 24 hours after my working day. The place is near the metro cuatro caminos (a mainly poorer area of Madrid with lots of south american population). The area does have a 24 hour supermarket which was good as the hostal has no food/drink facilities. The room was a very small single bed as I was alone on an education course for my job. The room had a fan and tv and a small table. Once you switch off the light the fan goes off so you cannot sleep with the fan on at night with 39c heat. you cannot leave the window open as its not a safe place. The first moment I checked in, i quickly went outside to get air and get the metro outside. They checked in a drunk african man at 6pm in the evening who was walking up the stairs with a can of beer unable to walk or see anything (their is no lift to the rooms) you need to walk up around 50 stairs to the rooms. They take anyone from the streets if they pay the small charge to stay here. Second day, the two receiptionists or owners were fighting over money from the hotel they were shouting and getting agressive. Its was an uncomfortable situation to see. I left and came back after work for a shower and the room had not been cleaned. They said you didnt put a badge on the door saying clean my room. Couldnt they knock and say something? Very strange way of working? The next day I put the badge clean my room but NO nothing changed. It was an excuse.. Then I went and complained he didnt speak any English and didnt want to know he said the cleaners left and nothing he can do. I pulled off the bedsheets, but the bed protector was badly stained with blood and I also got a skin rash. I left the property 1 day early, it was disgusting. The toilets were not cleaned either and insects were crawling everywhere. This place should be closed down immediately. They dont take security or cleaning seriously, they dont want to know problems only take your money. I explained to Expedia about this place but the hotel denied everything. SHAME!!!

I really like it. First of all, the location is very good. Public transportation is also convenient. Shopping and eating around are very convenient. British companies are within walking distance. The hotel is clean and trendy, and the red color is very eye-catching. The front desk staff were courteous and the processing speed was fast. The elevator required swiping a card. The room was large enough, the bedding was comfortable, the bathroom was large, clean and tidy, the shower water pressure was sufficient, and there was a hair dryer and an iron. You need to swipe your card to enter the tenth-floor gym and swimming pool. The swimming pool service staff are very enthusiastic. I had dinner at the restaurant on the right side of the hotel entrance. It was delicious. The service in the restaurant was also very good. The price was not much different from our restaurant. A great experience, I slept very comfortably these two nights.

We were in superior room and it is quite big with big flat TV. The bed is also big and comfy. The location is excellent to get out of Madrid by car or take a taxi or public transport to go anywhere in the city. The parking is connected with the hotel, very convenient to bring the luggage to the room by lift and it is big enough for huge cars like ours. The price of parking is reasonable considering the general prices of parking in Madrid. The breakfast is not buffet, they give you a couple of choices that for us was enough. If you want some extra things you have to pay for it. The price for regular breakfast is half of the usual buffet. We think that people usually waste a lot of food when it is buffet, so we agree with this style. The coffee machine for the breakfast is Nespresso and so the coffee is great. The staff is kind, polite and fast when we request anything. It is a pity that their restaurant is not open yet for lunch or dinner, just for the breakfast.

Hotel chains usually have a standard, a process, something to be known for. Or it is the price, the location, the luxurious breakfast, the incredible gyms, you name it. NH is simply what it is in Spain: it is EVERYWHERE, it is AVAILABLE, it is ECONOMICAL, it is CLEAN, it is DIGITAL, it is FRIENDLY and PROFESSIONAL, it is EVERYWHERE the same. Hence I was guest at NH Zurbano, found myself a digital check in, a clean room, a modern hotel, a great breakfast at a reasonable price and guess what.........next time, NH it will be...

A good choice for accommodation**** one or two nights and visit Madrid for any event (we use it for games in Bernabéu). The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.

Very good, modern hotel, in a fantastic location in the city. This hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the local Metro station and less than 10 minutes walk to Plaza de España and the beginning of Grand Via. To reach the very Centre of the city (Sol) it's only 20 minutes by foot or you can use the Metro with only one change. We paid direct to the reception for breakfast on one of our 3 mornings and it was well worth the money. A good range of tasty food and drink on offer. The bed was very comfy. The WiFi worked very well. Air con was excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will return to this hotel.

I have just come home from staying here for three days, my initial views were good for this hotel, I am afraid looking back I was wrong. The service I received was fine, but to be charged £340 for three nights which converts to £288, £95 a night I feel is outrageous and most definitely would not stay here again. I feel very annoyed with myself for agreeing to stay here for three nights. I have not been out of the UK for two years and eight months so this was very important to me. I had not booked in advance, just went to Alicante and thought I could find a hotel, it was very hot, I was feeling tired, I do not think I was thinking straight.😰but I do blame myself entirely. She said it was a special offer so I would have breakfast free, but I can assure you the breakfast was extremely mediocre, I did not choose to have breakfast on the last day, so getting it free and paying £95 a night is irrelevant. They did not have fresh milk, it was long life milk, The bread was stale, the sausages in the hot section look liked they came out of a can and cold, the scrambled egg was cold, the bacon in the hot plate was 99% fat and cold, all the juices they were serving were out of a packet and were very distasteful. I would rate this breakfast as a two-star hotel and indeed I would say probably one of the worst breakfasts I have had in a hotel in my lifetime. I have travelled the world and stayed in many hotels so I do have some experience, I would probably say this hotel is worth £60 pounds a night maximum, then one could accept what I received as acceptable, to charge £95 a night again I am going to say is very disappointing and outrageous. I also strongly recommend to anyone going to Alicante do not stay at this hotel for £95 a night, it is only worth about £60. Another point I would like to make the building noise outside over the three days was shocking, even with all the doors closed, the noise from the building noise and the bars across the road was horrendous and I paid £95 a night for this. Another very important point not out of the UK for two years and eight months, I am. 70 years old, have underlining health conditions and the staff working in the hotel could not even be courteous enough to put a face mask on or advise anyone to wear a face mask, I was the only one in the hotel with a face mask on, this is disgraceful and something they should not be proud of. I suppose if you are young and you do not have any health conditions you can just have this type of attitude. I felt exposed, frightened, and worried about catching Covid in this hotel. I have to say shame on you for putting me through this. I paid you £95 a night to make me feel like this. Spain went through a very difficult time during Covid, I also know it is not compulsory now to wear a mask, but you should be more professional and you should think about your vulnerable customers. A very comfy sleep in the centre of Madrid-Good mattress and chair to work This hotel is only one star, but the quality is medium/high. I booked a double bed and a private bathroom; the price is around 100 euros, which I think is expensive, but it may be the usual price in Madrid for one star hotels. The location is convenient for Line 1, the blue line and stop ”Estrecho”; L1 stops at Atocha, the high/speed station. The ride is approximately 30 minutes. The personnel are very kind and helpful. I was able to check in early since I needed to work. The room is small, but the bed has a nice size. It is very clean. However, it is difficult to keep up the highest standards since the floor is white and there were some hairs on the floor. I had a very good sleep; The quality of the mattress is excellent, and people are respectful and quiet, even though there are some common areas for guests who share bedrooms or other amenities. The chair in the bedroom is very comfy to work on. I managed to work for eight hours. All the furniture is of high standards, overall. There is complimentary tea and decaf coffee the whole day round. On the bad side, the breakfast was not great. The quality of the products is not good, for example, bread, jam (low-calories), pastries, or juices, which are not fruit natural juices. There are not too many options. The breakfast should start earlier than 8 am, above all for guests who are on business. I do not think guests should wash their dishes, but rinse them and allocate them in the dishwasher since they are using the same sponge, and after COVID-19, this practice should be avoided for further illnesses. The coffee machine provides coffee but is not of such good quality. It does not come hot enough. The quality of the towels is not good. They are old and do not dry properly. I think it is essential to have recycling bins, in particular, since guests are booking to sleep and they cook and prepare their food. The coffee machine does not allow you to reuse your glass, which is a shame as per providing a new glass with a plastic spoon every time you want a coffee. I tried to press the option ”no glass”, but it will not work. It seems that everything goes in the same bin. The shower has low pressure and two taps. It is not easy to reach quick and warm water. The head is not mobile, so girls bring your shower cap. The quality of the shower gel is nice. Very fashionable!!
