Blue Bay Resort Hotel

Get your credit card handy. You can’t book in until you pay your “thanks for leaving the EU” tax. I assume it’s the same all over so no points off for this place. I strongly suggest you take your time and read ALL the small print before you book. This is ratted as a 4 star, I don’t know who or how they rate places. I have stayed in 2 & 3 star rated hotels for less money with better amenities. The food is ok for a couple of days then it very quickly becomes a 2 star. We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of October 2024 and all my 13year old son could stomach was corn & rice. I would take the legs of a low flying sparrow but for me it was “bland, boring & not enough options”. The entertainment was laughable, the DJ plugged his phone in then left, ALL the dance acts looked like qualifying stages at a year 5 end of term show. Venues for the shows also change so keep your eyes on the “information boards”. ALL inclusive as we know it, isn’t! Again READ ALL the small print. The hotel is lovely the staff are lovely the surrounding area is beautiful. There is absolutely nothing to do. For a proper “turn off” from the world it’s probably ok but if you want options then it’s not for you. We went as a family of 4 expecting a 4 star “over budget” treat, unfortunately got a very average 2 (NOT STAR). The holiday cost £5,300 with Jet 2 “All inclusive for 2 weeks. We spent £350 on a car, £200 on sun beds @ beaches worth going to, £60 fuel, £700 eating out. It’s a place I’ve been but will never return. I’ve looked online for next summer (out of curiosity) £9,870 for the same disappointment. My honest advice is keep looking, don’t settle on this hotel.

We went here for our 17th wedding anniversary for 4 nights,and this place did not disappoint, comfortable beds, immaculately clean and the food was outstanding, lots of choice for breakfast,lunch and dinner,pool bar snacks were brilliant also, few little shops down near the beach but this all inclusive was that good you don't need to go out to eat,wifi was good in and around the hotel,we would defo go back to this hotel, it was perfect from start to finish and made our time away even more special, thank you Blue bay resort.

This is our third time staying at the blue bay and once again had the most wonderful time. Transfer: The transfer from Heraklion airport to the Blue Bay travel time was around 30 minutes. Check in: Arrived around 2pm to a warm and friendly welcome. We were told we unfortunately had missed lunch, but were told there were ample snacks available at the pool bar but this wasn't a problem as we had eaten on the plane. Room: We were shown to our room with a full rundown of how the t.v, aircon etc operated. The room was immaculate. Beds remade everyday as were the towels changed likewise and the general cleaning was very thorough. Hotel and annexes: The main hotel is located on a hillside which makes views absolutely stunning. The sunrise and sunsets are amazing! The main hotel area has three pools, one pool bar, another bar which is open after 5pm located in the hotel itself near the reception, ideal for a pre dinner drink or post dinner drink. There is an annexe which is maybe one hundred yards from the main building which has it's own small pool. Another annexe is located up the hill...this has a chilled relaxing atmosphere if you want to get away from the main area. It also has a pool and a bar. All drinks, snacks are available here at the same time as in the main pool bar. Entertainment happened here on occasion as it was in the wonderful Amphitheatre, located next to the main building. Amenities: A local small beach with a couple of shops and tavernas five minutes from the hotel but any one with mobility problems, as it is a very steep hill down, should take advantage of the hotel courtesy shuttle bus which runs very regularly. There are spa facilities available on site and if you fancy a day trip away, this can be booked via the very helpful reception staff. A small shop in the main reception area, open is available for any essentials and the reception staff are available 24 hours a day. Food: The restaurant caters for all tastes. Continental breakfast, full English if you wish. There is a fantastic range of lunch and evening meals, which should cover any ones tastes. During the day, available at the 2 pool bars there is a massive variation of snacks available ...ice cream included. If you decide to go out for the day on a trip, the hotel, on request, will provide you, as they did us, with an early breakfast and/or packed lunch. Staff: From management to maintenance these people are the back bone of the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are there for you whatever you may need. They are so very accommodating. We would like to personally thank all the customer facing staff and a massive thank you to the people behind the scenes, e.g, domestic staff, maintenance staff, chefs and everyone you don't see but help towards the smooth running of this brilliant hotel. It was a wonderful gesture of the management, before we left, to come and ask if there was anything that they could do to improve our stay...we gave a resounding

If we could give more than 5 stars we would. This is absolutely the best place where we have been so far. Starting from the stunning location superb view of the Aegean sea and beautiful beaches nearby. Rooms cleaned every day, we have been served amazing food with lots of choices and entertainment was on every night after dinner. But the staff deserves a standing ovation...from the reception, shop, restaurant & kitchen, bars to the cleaners every single person went over and beyond to make our stay perfect. We have never seen a grumpy face (and working ourselves in the hospitality we know how kills this job)and we went at the end of the season which meant they all were very tired, but they all had a contagious smile on their faces. I fell in love with Greece but overall I love its people, they are the most kindest and caring persons I have ever met. I wish I could remember every single name to say thank you personally but I have a bad memory sorry. Thank you thank you. Hope you all have a well deserved break. We will surely see you again soon❤️

Tasty food friendly staff Lovely and clean English premier league on in bar Weather lovely and warm for time of year Can’t argue with location as the views are great and the local beach is too as long as you can cope with the hilly terrain All in all had a great relaxing time

Beds was hard. Staff nice. No vodka on all inclusive is crazy. Ended up having to pay for every normal drink were others would be included. Food poor. Entertainment was poor and only last an hourish each night. Bar inside is tiny. Night time very disappointing
