I would like to warn you that if you book a "superior" room, it does not mean that it will have... a window!.. yes, there will be some small boarded-up hole, which the reception will call a "window". They refused to move my husband and me, citing the fact that I did not specify a "large window" in my room requests...
The rooms are old... housekeeping carts were constantly scurrying around on the third floor... talking on the radio, apparently, their main block is somewhere nearby...
The advantages include good breakfasts, location (within walking distance of Intramuros).. my husband asks me to write separately about the hospitable guys at the entrance to the hotel..:)

Friendly staff, delicious, decent breakfasts. Before the trip to Mindoro Island, we booked this hotel for 3 nights to rest before the next trip. We spent a long time choosing a hotel and settled on the Lotus Hotel. Very convenient location, everything is nearby, shops, and most importantly, a bus to the port of Balans leaves 100 meters from the hotel, we bought tickets for the bus and ferry at once (1500 pesos), the bus leaves at 9-30. I recommend the Lotus Hotel. The rooms are clean, of course, the renovation is not very fresh, but comfortable, for us the main thing was cleanliness and the absence of cockroaches and similar creatures. We thank all the staff for their good work.

I stay here all of the time and freaking love the place. Staff here are epic and always make you feel welcome. OK it is not the fanciest hotel on the planet, but for the price you pay related to what you get then there are few places that can match here for value.
I will as always have this as the place where I stay when I am next in Ermita.
