I first visited Swinton Estate over a year ago. I was just looking for a place to spend a couple of nights in the area, and what I found so exceeded my expectations that I ended up coming back 3 more times and hope I will again! The estate is absolutely beautiful. One of the things I look forward to is taking a daily walk in the park. They have a very extensive list of activities to keep you entertained during your stay. You will never be bored! Some of the things we did included a cookery course, skeet shooting, meeting the birds of prey, a deer park walk and a history tour. We always make it a point to visit the spa once or twice during our stay. Always a peaceful and relaxing experience. The food on the estate is wonderful! Chef's Table by Josh Barnes is a must! We also very much enjoy our dinners and lunches at the Terrace and Samuel's. I can't say enough good things about the team that works at Swinton! Everyone we met is welcoming, courteous, helpful and just a pleasure to talk to. Best part: it is not crowded. When you go for a walk, you feel like you have the plan to yourself. It totally lacks that "resorty" feel that I personally try to avoid. Instead you feel the history and tranquility of your surroundings.
