Excellent customer service. We had a small problem in our room and it was immediately taken care of by maintenance, and upon checkout they comped our valet parking. My family has been staying here for many years and we have always enjoyed the extra space, full amenities, and complimentary buffet breakfast. It is very clean and, although it may seem a little dated in this Instagram era of fancy wallpaper, it is actually beneficial to have three times the amount of space compared to hotels three times the price. You can get a huge king size room with a full kitchen, free breakfast, dining table, 4 dining chairs, armchair and ottoman, desk and comfortable work chair, 2 robes and two closets, plus an elevator and swimming pool for only $260 Canadian including tax!

We were a large group of mostly seniors who stayed here while attending the Jazz Festival. I stayed with 3 friends in room 203, which included 2 sets of bunk beds and a private bathroom. The room was very clean with new laminate flooring. Each bed had a reading lamp. The beds were comfortable with a great duvet but the pillows were very flat. Half of us found the A/C too cold and 1/2 found it not cold enough. (Can’t please everyone). We found it very quiet for sleeping at night but the heavy doors could not be closed quietly. Breakfast in the basement was included in the price and included bagels, buns, cream cheese, peanut butter, jam, cereal, apples, bananas, juice, coffee. Boiled eggs were offered on the weekend and coffee was available all day. The large kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances, pots, pans, cutlery and dishes one would ever need and guests are responsible for washing and drying their own dishes. There is a bar, pool table, music and sitting and eating area in the basement, as well as public bathrooms. All of the staff at Saintlo are very pleasant, friendly and extremely helpful with providing directions and answering questions. This was the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed . I found it a bit pricey, but maybe that was because of the ideal location in downtown Montreal. We walked everywhere from here. Highly recommended!

I came for a medical training in September 2022. - Bad customer service. Dubious practice on room rates. When I first booked in June, I was told I could book with a preferential rate from the training organiser. It turned out the preferential rate was more expensive than booking at the hotel directly (you get 15% discount if you stay more than 3 nights). I called the hotel, and the lady in charge said they couldn’t do anything, she wouldn’t apply the 15% discount on top of the conference preferential rate. That seemed fair to me, as I understand hotels lost a lot of business during the pandemic and tried to balance the finances. At that time I booked a room with 2 queen beds but I wasn’t sure if my husband and son would join, so I declared it would be for 1 adult only. In September, I contacted the hotel and asked to update the room occupancy to 2 adults and 1 child. THEY CHANGED the room rate and rose the price (instead of less than $1000 for 4 nights, it went to $1300!). When I asked why, they said bc I changed the booking, so they update to the new rate at the time of the change. It is still exactly the same room! I don’t mind paying more in taxes bc more people stay in the same room, but changing the rate, when they knew I was part of the conference and wouldn’t change hotel, was a bit lame… I called the same conference lady and asked if I could revert back to the conference rate. She said no, bc the conference rate has expired and she wouldn’t give it as a commercial gesture because she gets commissions on the bookings… what a bad customer service! Not sure if it was done on purpose, the room I got was a room just outside the elevator, so noisy… And we checked in, the 2 people in front of us complained very loudly about the hotel… - Room not clean and missing toiletries The beds and pillows were comfortable. They didn’t have a duvet cover, but 2 flat sheets… the duvets and the pillows were yellow from stains. The bedside tables were dusty. Carpets dirty (not the same colour, although the same patterns, as the ones in the corridors). In the bathroom, there were only soap bars, no shampoo or conditioners. I only got them because one morning, I saw a cleaning lady in the corridors and asked if she had any shampoos etc. To my surprise, she did and gave them to me. - Conference rooms neglected We had tea/coffees and pastries in the morning of the first day… but they were not refilled after lunch or the days after… unless we asked. And even after asking, we wouldn’t get hot water for tea… The toilets near the conference rooms either had missing hand soap or missing paper towels to dry your hands…. I get it that the hotel wanted to save money after being under occupied during the pandemic… but for a 4 star hotel, I expected better and better customer service. The hotel is well located, in the city centre… but I won’t be back if I have to come to another conference in Montréal.

Close to Chinatown and old port. Room is small and no view. The hotel will charge $4/luggage if you want to leave your luggages in the reception—that’s crazy. We didn’t pay, so we need to carry out luggages to walk around the city until our train in the evening.

Booking's efficient since you receive the code for the main door, and your room. ahead of arrival. The reception while on duty doesn't want to do much. We buzzed to enter during reception hours, and they asked if we had our code/does our code not work.We couldn't locate the reception to ask for a continental breakfast item,or toiletries during their available hours. While doing the latter, we met the owners who are really nice people. The boutique hotel does need work as it looks dilapidated in parts of the common area, while the room we had looked tired. wifi,no issue here as an extender was in the hall of our second floor. The bathroom had what appeared to be a blood smear at the exterior tub edge wall. Room blinds are sheer, with an uncovered upper window. With a west side room, this won't matter as much to someone who isn't easily awoken by light. The elevator works which is good when you have luggage beyond a backpack. Parking, the location needs to specify there's ONLY 4 spots, unless one can somehow drive on the sidewalk to park a sub compact closer to the left of the stairs when facing the building to get a fifth spot. A motorcycle will have no issue if a spot's available. Overnight, due to the location,it was peaceful. For the price, this isn't a first choice, but we booked last minute.

We recently stayed at the Novotel Montreal Airport and had a great stay. The hotel was clean, and the rooms were spacious. The staff were very welcoming and took great care of us. Thank you to Rose at the Bar! She was amazing and made us feel at home. We met Tony, the General Manager when we checked out. Such a nice guy! Very friendly and welcoming and made sure that we were taken care of during our stay. I would definitely return to the Novotel Montreal Airport if in Montreal again. What a fantastic team!

GGuest UserI love this hotel nestled in the heart of Old Montréal and Old Port. I had a great room with a wonderful corner view of Old Montréal, it’s rooftops, the Grande Roue and the little cafes and boutiques below. Room is very comfortable. I love the long modern working desk, the comfy lounge chair, plush bedding and above all the spa multi jet shower… Because of pandemic restrictions most of the amenities of the hotel were not accessible. The hotel has such a nice lounge and bar area but I couldn’t go there. The gym was also off limits. There is an outdoor courtyard that was advertised as open even in the winter with fire pits but it wasn’t accessible during my stay. My only complaint would be that my room was drafty but I also stayed on one of the coldest weekends of the year and I could adjust the heat in the room. I asked for a throw blanket to cuddle in while reading in the lounge chair. They brought me the cuddliest faux fur blanket, I was almost thankful for the draft. Can’t wait for my next opportunity to stay here. In my opinion, this hotel is more geared towards adults (solo/business/couples/adult getaways) rather than families with young children. It has a high-end, modern, chic vibe. However, I’m quite sure they would accommodate children too. Photos don’t do the view justice. They were taken during a snow storm with poor visibility. Under normal conditions, was really nice and at night, so beautiful with all the lights and illuminated Grande Roue.

GGuest UserQuite disappointed with the room provided vis-a-vis what was reserved. Two double beds instead of two queens was a tight squeeze for our family. I fail to understand why this happened, particularly since the room was booked two months in advance of arrival & secured with a credit card. I was told the hotel was fully booked for the weekend so the issue could not be remedied. That said, our room was on the pool level which was kind of nice. The room was clean and included a small fridge plus a safe. There was also a steamer which was handy for touching up formal attire. The hallways seemed a bit dim & May benefit from an update. They were quiet, without echos, which was nice however. Finally, the Metro station can be easily accessed through the building which is a bonus! Based on overall experience, I would recommend this hotel. I may consider it for future trips to Montreal but might be a bit apprehensive based on the room switch which occurred.

GGuest UserMaité & Simon were perfect hosts! They were always available for any and all of my questions and took care of our little family so well. From everything to an early check-in/late check-out so our babies could nap, to providing us with a highchair and playpen, it was so perfect! We had come specifically to Montreal to take our daughter to the Biodome and this location was just minutes walk away. Once in the room, they had a binder full of helpful recommendations and tips (the Oeuferie for breakfast was fabulous). We were even able to secure free on street parking but do watch out as Montreal street signage is tricky!

GGuest UserThe hotel was very central to all the place we wanted to be. It seemed like a 20 min walk to everywhere. Chinatown, Old Montreal, Waterfront, St Catherine street to city centre and the other way to The Gay Village. There are a lot of people that hang around in the streets around the hotel but it seems to be a big issue in Montreal in general. We never felt unsafe but we are from Toronto. The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. We stayed in a Panoramic rooms so we had a corner and a lounge. The rooms with just the beds are very small, it was nice having the extra space. They did not clean the rooms due to Covid which was fine but there is no where to dry a towel so we had to be creative. The bed was comfortable thought because it was not fully made up each day it got to be a bit of a mess and was harder to fix. The AC in the bedroom blows right on your head! The Lobby smelled wonderful and was clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. All in all great place and we would stay again.

GGuest UserDon't recommend this hotel. This hotel doesn't even deserve 1 star, should be -5 (negative 5) out of +5 (positive 5). Unless you plan to pay a high price for a ”slump” experience, look no further, this is it. My first time to Montreal and will not visit again because of terrible experiences in this hotel. Reasons: 1) Did not honor what's advertised. Expedia stated that it offers valet parking, but it's not. It's self-park. I would not have stayed in this hotel had it not listed ”valet parking” as part of package price. 2) Concierge staff, Mikal, provided unclear and vague information on garage entrance location. Had to ask three times before Mikal walked a bit further to point the side entrance. It's off the street, had he not pointed it out, I would have missed it. I did not see it when I drove by when arriving at the hotel. 3) Made no efforts in guarding customer confidentiality and data: Lack of clear boundary on who can and can't stand behind the front desk counter: This made me feel uncomfortable seeing how any staff, housekeeping, security, front desk, guest services, even manager, Tamara's friend could stand behind the front desk counter to look at any computers and customers' information and data. This could come across as careless handling of customer confidentiality and data. There were two boxes with customer room assignment and data at the counter, even guests in line would easily access if they want to. At one point, there wasn't any staff at the front desk or in the lobby, all gone, with guests waiting, which if they want, they could easily access customer info. The hotel staff don't seem to care. For example, when Tamara checking me, Carl, Jason, Axel, Mikal and Tarama's friend all came over to peek over Tamara's computer with my profile and data on the screen. 4) Lack of sensitivity and priority: Housekeeping Carl, Front Desk Staff: Axel, and Jason, Concierge: Mikal, Manager, Tamara, were all busy doing their own things. At one point, there were 12-15 guests in line with Jason working alone while other staff focusing on other tasks rather than checking in guests to clear the waiting line. 5) Tamara offered me an upgrade, which was a terrible upgrade. Gave me things I did not need and a run-down and dirty room full of issues: hairs all over, dented walls, dented refrigerator, dark room, dirty sinks, food residuals on the chair, dirty carpet, warm (not hot) shower temperature, dusty surface, dirty walls., lack of enough electrical outlet, and many more (recorded with videos). 6) Negative attitude by some staff such as Axel, accusing me being disrespectful and screaming at him when I was not. He hung up my phone call abruptly three times when I called from the landline to raise cleanliness issues after arriving the assigned room. Axel also did not practice active listening. When I called I was hoping they could help locate a clean chair. Axel did not wait until I was done talking by cutting me off saying, ”Jason, seems t

GGuest UserWe chose this hotel because we wanted to be in the centre of Montreal and we needed a crib or playpen for our baby and the website said they had them free. - Lack of communication: I tried to reach them via Expedia many times and they never answered me. - One of the men at reception was very rude with my husband and he didn't know if they had playpens and my husband had to find one and a mattress for our baby in their storeroom. - Poor cleanness: the bathtub was either dirty or old but it had some yellow spots where I didn't dare to sit my baby; the windows were dirty too. - The parking lot must be very small because we had to park at a different location and didn't even offer us to do it in their building. + Beds were comfy + We could use the microwave at the restaurant to heat our baby's food. + There was someone at reception who could speak Spanish and was very friendly. + It is close to the centre and lively areas.
