"I’ve been coming to Hotel Zero 1 for a few years, being the only hotel I book in Montreal due to its impeccable walkability. That being said, it’s unfortunate that it’s no longer shiny and new, you can really see the wear and tear over the years. If you want luxury you’re not going to find it here; however, it’s still a great place to stay for the action packed traveller who wants somewhere a bit nicer than a motel to stay. I booked knowing full well it wasn’t going to be the most amazing stay but it was not as bad as some of the Google reviews make it out to be- it’s just dated. The room was clean, check in and check out was easy, and even though the valet service is closed, the parkade they directed us to was safe and straightforward. I’d categorize this hotel as 3 stars as the amenities aren’t that great, but just know what you’re walking into, manage your expectations to that, and you will have a great stay.
It’s just kind of a shame to see a hotel that I have great memories in not keep up with maintaining the property. If they repaired the fabric on the bed, replaced the shower heads and updated with smart TVs, that would make a world of difference.
TLDR;
Pros: clean linens, cable tv, microwave and fridge in the room
Cons: dated technology, broken Roku, only one elevator for the whole building, no on site parking."
"This is our second visit to the Bonaventure. Both visits we have had trouble with paying for parking, and I am now calling because I think I was billed twice. I prepaid through Trip.com, and was charged again at the hotel.
That bruised a really nice visit. This was a rare family visit, and we were able to get a adjoining rooms.
Hotel is located on the 10th floor “penthouse “. There is access to the underground so no need to go outside in the cold, unless you want to take a dip in the pool. A unique experience for many guests
We miss placed our parking receipt and was given a voucher to give the parking attendant that never showed up. We waited 45 minutes to leave, had to go back up to the desk to explain and get another receipt. This morning I have to call the hotel because I believe I was charged again for the rooms. Front desk mixup? Probably, but"
"The room was big, but there were stains on counters and the floors, the lights in the bathroom were actually coming out of the wall, and the shower had multiple faucets at different levels for no apparent reason. The hallways once you left the lobby smelt very musty and bad. Overall very weird atmosphere but the location was great."
"In town for a JFL show. Location was very convenient and the rom was immaculate. Resto on ground floor is very nice for a convenient meal of quick snack after travel and check-in. Staff are very pleasant and professional and were quick to accomodate our request for a room with a bathtub. My wife likes to soak after the travel part.. had a pleasant special effects surprise at bedtime when the streetlights below penetrated above the curtain/drape rod and produced a bit of a light show on the ceiling. Not enough to interfere with sleep and just right as a night light for the mid night trips to the washroom. All in all very nice hotel in a very convenient downtown location at a reasonable price"
"Staffs were kind and professional. (except the man at the Concierge desk... he didn't seem to know much about the hotel's services or maybe he just didn't want to speak to us.)
Valet service can take very long when crowded.
It was weird that there was only 1 set of bath robe and slippers in the room when everything else was set up for 2. (I booked the deluxe room with a king size bed for 2 guests.) Room size was good and bathroom was clean.
Great location. I could walk to most of the old Montreal tourist attractions and good restaurants around.
All in all, a bit old... but a good 5 star hotel. I would recommend it."
"The hotel reception is located on the 6th floor of a shopping mall which wasn't easy to find. There's some outside walls renovation going on and it was a bit noisy in the morning. The ice machine on our floor was out of order.
The location is great, IGA, McDonald's, shops, restaurants, food court right downstairs in the shopping mall. Most of the tourists attractions are within walking distance.
The hotel provides valet parking service but we chose to park in the shopping mall's underground garage instead, which is CA$24 for 24 hours."
"We stayed for 4 nights and the location is perfect. It's in between two metro stations, both are about 6-7 mins walk (Champ de Mars, and Saint Laurent) depends which line you are in. We arrived by train and took the metro at Bonaventure (this is connected to the Central station: ”Gare Centrale”) and arrived at Champ de Mars. There is a supermarket 5 mins away (”IGA”) and the airport bus station is by the hotel. Chinatown is 7 mins away and make sure you visit Sammi dumplings. There is a food court (”Le Central”) 5 mins away although we found it slightly expensive. The Old Port of Montreal and Notre-Dame Basilica are about 15 mins away from the hotel.
Facilities: As a number of people said, the rooms are quite basic and need a lot of uplift. Our room doesn't have any sofa (which was different from the pictures here) but functional so there is no complain. The kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans. We cooked our dinner twice.
Staff and service: all staff are friendly and very helpful, gave advice on directions and always have a smile."
"The location of the hotel is very good, and I'm very satisfied with the facilities. I'm a bit disappointed that the Canadian hotel received the parking fee."
"We stayed one night on our way to Quebec. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and the location was great, with a popular pizza place and Etone nearby. Unfortunately, it was raining so we didn't get out much."

Great
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very good. It is very convenient to go everywhere. There are many restaurants downstairs nearby where you can eat. There is also a large swimming pool upstairs in the hotel. There is a pool restaurant next to it where you can order food and drinks!
GGuest UserTrip.com made the booking process very easy
The hotel is modern and clean
The staff are bilingual (English and French) and very friendly
The pool and gym are nice amenities
The welcome cookies were delicious!
The room was great and the bed very comfortable
We loved our 2 night stay and will stay here again!
AAnita2 hotels share 1 cramp breakfast room.found 1 3-inch screw by my bed and the kitchen wall is kind of under finish. Staffs in breakfast room is quick in weekday but only half the staffs are available in weekend.
Front desk ladys don't like to simile , so will try my rusty French next time.
Try to ask front desk for direction heading to VIA train station and she only know how to take Uber .
Hardware is fine but soft skill sets of the hotel may need to be reviewed.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe location and staff of the hotel were great, but the facilities were very outdated. It was disappointing that when I looked out of the window, I could only see the wall, and as soon as I opened the door, the bed was right there, which was regrettable.
Due to the fact that there are three hotels with the same name in downtown, it is important to double-check the address and make sure you find the correct one.
GGuest UserThe room was clean and the location was excellent. I will choose this hotel next time. The front desk and downstairs security service were very good and very professional. I was impressed.
MMarley KThis hotel is a little gem in a super area of downtown Montreal. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, with high-quality sheets and a good selection of comfortable pillows. A kitchenette made it very easy to pick up salads or snacks to refrigerate or reheat leftovers from a restaurant the night before. Breakfast is included and there’s a good selection of fruit, boiled eggs, smoked salmon, deli meats and yogurt. Cereals as well. While there were scrambled eggs, I tried them twice but not cooked to my taste. Having said that, there were fresh pastries and bagels, so a bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon with some fruit served very well.
This hotel is very walkable to Notre Dame, Place des Arts and several theatres and museums. Lots of great restaurants to suit anyone’s tastes. The subway is literally a 3-minute walk and in 10 minutes, you can be at the Jean Talon Market, which has a plethora of foods and drinks to suit anyone’s taste palate.
I’d highly recommend Hotel and Spa Carre St. Denis and will definitely be back next time I visit Montreal.
MMoeheinphyuIt was a pleasant stay in Old Montreal, prime location. Good breakfast and gym. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. A paid parking near the same block with decent pricing $18. Definitely recommended.

SShawn FuThe hotel provides excellent service and is very flexible in accommodating additional requests. The room was very clean and quiet, and the breakfast was plentiful. Although the location is not in the city center, in pleasant weather, it is easy to walk west to the downtown area. Walking northeast leads to a typical Quebec residential area with a French-speaking community and restaurants. It was an excellent stay. Thank you to the owner and staff!
