Merrils Beach Resort II
3.7/5100 Reviews
We stayed at Merrill’s for 3 weeks, this was our first visit to this resort. We used to stay at Grand Pineapple, but of course that’s gone now. We saw quite a few people that we knew from the Pineapple, both at Merrill’s and other resorts up and down the beach. Merrill’s is a lot like the Pineapple, rooms were bigger, but beach was smaller. We were in room 710, it was fine, the shower leaked, we told front desk, we were told to put a towel down. Take an extension cord, no plug in bathroom, only a couple in the whole room. Housekeeping did a great job, clean towels whenever you wanted them. Food was good, not a lot of variety, we did eat out a few times. No light beer, no wine unless you bought it. We took 3 boxes, so that worked out ok. One problem that wasn’t Merrill’s fault was loud music a couple nights every week coming from across the road, once til 4a.m. We think it was coming from Kenny’s Italian restaurant, we were told they had after hours parties. Apparently the police don’t enforce the noise ordinances. The Wi-Fi was free, it worked ok. The day we checked in, I asked about the safe, was given the lock, I asked about a fee for it, was told no charge for safe. The day we checked out, we were told it was $69.00. I said no, relayed what I had been told, guy at the desk tried to call manager but couldn’t get him, so he said ok, no charge. If it matters to you, make sure when you’re checking in about cost. All in all we enjoyed our stay, everyone was great, employees didn’t wear name tags so I can’t remember the names, but all were very nice, friendly, and helpful.

Lovely hotel right on the beach. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfy. The beach is what really makes this hotel, lt really was a one minute walk to the beach which also had free sunbeds. The staff also made our stay special the receptionist was so helpfulhome f and friendly, Rockie on the bar was lovely and the security man was helpful. If you want a budget stay in Jamaica, this is the place to stay, very secure also. The bar/restaurant on site has a good range of meals, could offer more at nightime but you can easily walk a few steps along the beach to the restaurants a few doors away. If you want 5 star all inclusive luxury, this isnt the place for you but if you want a homely reasonably priced home from home, this is the place for you. Just one tip, bring a hairdryer, they dont have them.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Coral Seas Garden, room 102. Nice size, clean and bright. AC worked well and pretty good hot water and pressure. Nice location for shopping, bars and restaurants. There was a lot beautiful foliage by our patio which unfortunately brought a significant number of mosquitoes or no-see-ums or whatever you call them. Sitting out there before we realized to use big spray resulted numerous, very itchy bites. FYI soaking in salt water helps the itching. Crossing the street to get to the beach was nerve-racking. Be very careful. We were staying for 26 days and rented a kitchenette. Small fridge made it difficult to have a week's worth of groceries with a good supply of beer and soda. No toaster, can opener, vegetable peeler, knives, spatula, or serving spoons. Requested some but were told they didn't provide. Also, no kitchen towels or dish rags, dish dryer rack. We bought some. Did have two small frying pans and one large and one small cooking pans. There are a number of guests here that have been returning for years. They are allowed to store the supplies, pots, silverware, etc. they've bought or brought in bins for next year. And we were able to borrow a spatula. Which is very nice of the owner. But those of us who are not regulars do without or buy our own. We managed but this was an area of disappointment for our stay.

My wife and I have stayed there 3 years in a row . But had to cancel due to covid. Have stayed in two different units, same owner. The rooms are not 5 star. But you're not paying 5 star either. But everything else is great. Plenty of room on the beach that is set back from the water. Plenty of chairs and shade. Bar/restaurant on site. Beautiful gardens. Pool. You can walk into town for groceries or to local shops. You're on 7 mile, you can walk the beach for many restaurants or shops. The ocean is beautiful. We've already booked for next January 2023 with a different owner this time. Condo looks nicer. We booked through Airbnb..you can see the condos and the cost is right there. We have always felt secure there..guard at the gate and security on the Beach. We wouldn't keep going back if it wasn't a great place to go. For the price, where else you going on 7 mile beach in Negril
The Spa Retreat Boutique Hotel

The meals are especially good, great for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and all the menus are delicious. The stone cottage is not suitable for an extra bed because the room is not large. There are no beaches here, and there are not enough facilities for children to play. There is a parking lot, but it is not big. The location is average. Far from the airport. In the westernmost part of Jamaica, it is in the Negril area. Very close to the bar in the picture.
