Truss Hotel Times Square Reviews

Although it is walking distance to and from times square, I would avoid staying in this neighborhood. On the map, it looks close to the Chelsea area but its actually in Hell’s Kitchen, which is poor and dirty. There were homeless people right outside of the hotel and there isn’t security in Truss Hotel. At night, there is only one receptionist on duty, the entrance is not locked and anybody is able to enter and access the elevator without a hotel key. I did not feel safe staying in Truss Hotel. Cleanliness was acceptable, you can tell it was probably renovated within the past ten years. It is understaffed and they are not flexible at all regarding early or late check ins/outs. I would rather splurge more next time on a hotel with better security measures.

A great hotel in the center of New York City, with good value for money, a gym, very convenient, convenient transportation, many supermarkets and food around, and a great location.

The room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, the service is good, and the environment is satisfactory.

Very close to Times Square and very convenient

We only booked this hotel last minute as we got frequent flyer points for doing so. Our previously booked accommodation were requesting a substantial hold on our credit card which this hotel said they didn’t. However when we checked in we found they did put a hold of US $250. The size of the junior King Suite was ample. However the position of the bed meant that the bed person sleeping on the right side had to shimmy around it. Overall the room is tired and needs an update. The two chairs were grimy looking and the tiles and drain cover in the shower was very off putting and certainly would expect better for the money we paid. The staff in reception were hit and miss with some very friendly and some barely communicating. On the second or third day the shower head needed attention and this was fixed immediately. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. I felt for them as they did well considering the poor state of things. A couple of points, a kettle would be preferred over a microwave and there has to be a better alternative to the plastic mattress protector. Terrible to sleep on and I woke numerous times covered in sweat. The lighting needs attention as the room was dark with only one small window in the corner of the room with a grotty blind covering it. The access to the roof top was lovely and we took food and drinks up there.

10/10 experience. Beds were comfy , room was clean. Jessy was amazing and very informative which made my stay a breeze. Perfect location and easy to get around. My room was a great size with a good view. The aesthetics of this hotel is everything. Will definitely be back !

Jessy was the best experience of the trip and the morning housekeeper today 7/13/2024 . The staff is pleasant and warm treated us like family . Place was clean it was a superb experience . Will do it again it was great time when we arrived we were greeted enthusiastically and my daughter was acknowledged and spoken to as a person not a baby which she loved . Jessy took the time to answer her questions and make her feel welcomed .

Visited this week with a group of 6 on a girls trip. Couldn’t have been more happy with our hotel selection. Rooms were spacious and QUIET!!! The rooftop has spectacular views and is a great spot for meals or unwinding at the end of the day. The front desk staff (Luz) was so friendly and is the perfect representation for your hotel. She offered recommendations, assisted us with some linen needs and greeted us each day with a smile. Luz, you made our trip a fantastic one!!!

This hotel is right in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, which I love because it's close enough to the action, but you're surrounded by cuter restaurants and convenience stores. They'll let you check in earlier IF the room is available. I LOVE that there's a fridge, a microwave, and a safe!! But for toiletries, they have lotion, body wash, and (ew!) conditioning shampoo. If you don't know the shampoo washes away the conditioners, so it's best to bring your own. This hotel basically leaves you alone and there isn't a loud housekeeping staff that bothers you, which is nice. But the location will definitely bring me back. I really enjoyed staying here.

This is not a hotel. Feels very cheap. Don't stay here if you want to feel like you're having a mini break in New York city and living it up a bit.. Very expensive for what it is...a hostel effectively. No breakfast facilities at all and after staying 2 nights for 4 people and paying $1500 they had the cheek to charge $2 to leave one item of baggage for a couple of hours. Just didn't seem professional or like a trest. Other hotels available nearby for similar prices.

So first off, I booked this through CapitalOne. I was supposed to get a city view and 2 queens. We did not get either. Two twin beds and a window...INTO A RESTAURANT. I am honestly gobsmacked about how that is even allowed! My mom and I were incredibly LUCKY that the restaurant wasn't even open when we were there 3 nights--otherwise it would've been a complete nightmare. We could open the window into the restaurant which was ridiculous. Hey waiter, please deliver the steak to my room... The good thing is that the room was clean. And due to the restaurant LUCKILY not being open, it was incredibly quiet. We had no street sounds and no light so it was pitch black 24/7. Which was nice, but also, we were just soooo lucky the restaurant was on holiday. The other not-so-good thing is that the room was TINY. There was one tiny stool "chair" despite the room having two beds. It was very cramped. The rooftop was really pretty but the hotel shares it with apartments, so one night there was a wedding party on top so we couldn't hang out there very long. It's a very oddly designed building. I didn't like the lack of security or door codes to get anywhere, you could just walk in and hang out on any floor if you wanted to. I did like the location, it was an easy walk to Javits Center and Times Square and there were plenty of restaurants, breakfast joints, etc, within easy walking distance. I don't think I'll stay here again because it was just very odd how they put people in a room next to a restaurant. May as well get rid of the windows and put up sound-proof walls, really.

The staff at Truss Hotel were FABULOUS and this place was SECONDS after the tunnel, so so easy to get to! The staff helped us with early entry and greeted us by name each day. When my 8-year-old flew her newly bought FAO Swartz drone off the hotel roof, they helped us retrieve it! They were so warm, welcoming, personable, and fun! Not to mention the location of this hotel was perfect walking distance to Times Square, tons of food options, the metro, the high rise, and more. We'll be back!
