Island House Goa

Had an amazing stay at Island House Goa on Divar Island! The breakfast was delicious, the room was comfy and well-furnished, and the pool was perfect for a dip. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed. This beautiful Portuguese villa is the perfect getaway. Highly recommend! 🌴✨

The Cutest PLace in Goa.. Feels like living in your own house. The comfort food , Beautiful Swimming pool , the staff .. all is excellent.. Loved each and every corner of The Island house goa. What I really like also about the place is the ferry .. and the small market on diwar island..

I had an amazing stay, away from the hustle and bustle of Goa’s clubs. The location is beautiful and gives you a local experience of food and architecture in Goa. The food was great and the service was beyond expectations. Looking forward to visit again.

Retro elegance surrounded by nature, this house takes you back to the Portuguese colonial period with lots of clay tile, carved wood and other paraphernalia. The rooms are squeaky clean and the breakfast is homemade excellent. The wifi in rooms could be improved. Prasad and Shyam are a great duo who look after your every need. If you're lucky, exotic birds might show themselves around the pool. All three of their porches are great places to chill with a drink or a writing project!

During the Valentine’s week we visited Blu by the River next to Mandovi. Services were terrible. First day when we entered the room was fine. What we see is glass pieces once we return post event. How is it possible for glass pieces to have entered the room? Will never experiment again. Utterly disgusting!

Island House Divar is in a serene place away from other bustling areas in Goa. One can go for long walks on the quiet roads of Divar Island or explore it by car. It is accessible by ferry only so one needs to plan one's outings according to the ferry timings. It was in keeping with our requirement for a quiet and peaceful stay. However, this property needs more upkeep. It is an old family house converted into a home stay. The bedrooms are average in size but have no ventilation. Screens on windows can help let in fresh air. The bathrooms need to be modified too with shower enclosures/screen so that the bathwater does not spread over the floor. We had to request for a floor wiper to make the place safe for use. Once a room has been booked the caretakers must ensure that the fittings are working properly. The room we were given had faulty bathroom fittings right from the shower to the basin taps. Furniture, especially near the poolside needs far better upkeep. While the breakfast was good, ordered meals are not that great. Also it all seems ad hoc as different prices are quoted at different times for set meals for lunch/dinner. There is no menu card/price list...so whether one orders a single egg with one slice of bread it cost the same as 2 eggs. Clarity would help to make process of ordering food more transparent. People are on the lookout for places like Island House Divar for a restful retreat. Upgrading the place and services would help.

The Island house at Divar Island is one of the best properties in the island. The manager's hospitality, the chef and the stewards add to the experience of the place. The pool is well-maintained and clean. Its a value for money property

We went to Goa in Oct, an absolutely lovely weather and a home stay here made a great vacation. The home is such a refreshing break and so aesthetically done. The place is alive with birds as it is opposite the Salim Ali Bird sanctuary. We spotted so many varieties. The access to the House itself is exciting since we take the ferry to reach the mainland. There are 2 ferry terminals and one of them has an arch with the Viceroy's arch. Away from the hustle and bustle of mainland, this place is quiet and serene. The hosts, Jay and Susan, have kept the place so well. The pool, the garden.. food was sumptuous with a mix of veg and non veg dishes. We spent most of our time at the resort as we wanted to relax. Books were aplenty for all ages across so many genres. Getting a network was an issue but frankly we never missed it We were asked for dietary preferences and any special requests or arrangements that were needed. If you need to have quiet and serene vacation with not many activities on the mainland...do visit this place
