Best gem in nature
A sanctuary in the rural part of northern Spain. Off the Santiago trail. We missed they had transfer between the trail and the hotel so we walked. But it was a magnificent trek to the place. The hotel is a peaceful little gem emerged in nature. Service couldn’t be better. Felt like coming home. Smiles and helpful people. Food probably the best we’ve had on the entire trail.

Charming Country Inn
Recently completed a leg of the Camino de Santiago, and stayed one night at Casa Roan. It was the high point of all the inns we stayed in on our trip.
It is a collection of restored farm buildings, most 250 years old. Charming and quaint.
The staff were exemplary. If you call them, they will pick you up wherever your day's hiking ends, and drop you off in the same spot the following morning.
This is a family run operation, and all the staff were friendly, polite and thoroughly professional.
The hotel restaurant is also superb, and we enjoyed one of the best meals of our Camino. Really can't recommend Casa Roan strongly enough.

Nos encantó el lugar!!, muy bonito y limpio, no hay olores de humedad y el muchacho que nos atendió (Manuel) muy amable. Si es verdad que nos hubiera gustado una carta para elegir otra cosa para cenar porque había un menú y ya. Y el desayuno muy rico y muy abundante, todo productos naturales y caseros, pero en nuestro caso con un café y una tostada suficiente, pero tomes un café sólo o te pongas como el kiko, te cobran igual 8€. Salvando ésta parte es absolutamente recomendable.

A neat old castle to stay in, with a terrific dinner and breakfast. Our room smelled like mildew, I think the wardrobe in the room made the smell. I couldn’t sleep all night. Perhaps the rooms upstairs would have been better for us. Noisy footsteps above our room. The room was very clean. the young man behind the desk was very helpful but the lady was not friendly and we waited an hour to check in.

We were wondering why our travel agent booked a hotel not along the Camino. We understood when we arrived at this beautiful place. Each of our rooms had its individual charm. I personally enjoyed walking around the property- very serene. Nice cozy restaurant. Breakfast wasn’t your usual buffet type but each item was nice and freshly prepared. We didn’t mind waiting to be picked up from Palas de Rei, just need to plan and time it. Highly recommend!

Pésima experiencia en este alojamiento.Nos alojamos mientras hacíamos el camino De Santiago. Vale que esté lejos del camino y que tengas que esperar a que te recojan( el señor que nos recogió fue muy amable, lo único bueno que me llevo de este alojamiento).Al llegar nos dieron una habitación horrible, fría, pequeña y con olor insoportable a piedra húmeda, sin bomba de frío-calor y sin televisión .Hablamos con la mujer de recepción para que por favor nos cambiase y encima se molestó, nos dijo que esa habitación era la preferida de muchos clientes ,nos dio un radiador y es lo que había. No pude dormir nada en toda la noche , el olor era horrible. A parte de esto la cena es un menú cerrado y caro, pero no te queda otra que comer allí porque estás aislado y sin coche en nuestro caso. NO LO RECOMIENDO.

Menu de 25€ por persona aunque no nos lo dijeron. Nos pareció caro para la calidad de los platos que se ofrecieron aunque eran abundantes. El caldo no estaba colado lo que no lo hacía agradable de comer. El raxo no nos gustó ya que tenía muchisimo pimentón, la lubina estaba bien y la ternera lo mejor. Los postres estaban ricos. En conclusión caro pero comida sin más. La atención sí que fué muy buena.
