The room is simple and elegant, clean and tidy, warm and romantic. The butler-style service is meticulous and makes people feel at home. The hotel has an excellent environment, embedded in a wonderful hillside, surrounded by trees and green grass, with cattle and horses roaming behind it. The Western-style breakfast is delicious and hearty, and the service is attentive, making people forget to leave.

Stayed here for only 1 night and was super last minute, so didn’t get to enjoy everything. By far the most beautiful places to stay in Scotland, an absolute hidden gem. The attention to detail in making your stay perfect is nothing you will experience anywhere else. We will be back next year😁

The hotel is lovely and the setting is beautiful. We had a very restful two nights away with our little beagle Bella. The room was so comfortable and the little bars within the hotel an absolute treat to sit and have a glass of wine after a woodland walk in the grounds or a day shopping in the town of Peebles with it's delightful little shops. I really must say that the staff, Kirsty, Liam and Harriet (sorry if I missed anyone) were totally outstanding and an absolute credit to the hotel! I also have to mention that the food was exceptional too, both our Room Service dinner and breakfast in the mornings.

Very comfortable, welcoming hotel in beautiful setting. Our room was upgraded to a junior suite on our arrival. The room was spacious, super comfy bed and had a large en suite. Bedding and towels were soft, fluffy and luxurious. Lovely extras included home made shortbread, whisky miniatures and Arran Aromatic toiletries. We opted for the nine course tasting menu for dinner. The food was delicious and we would highly recommend this option (also available as 7 courses). All staff were friendly and welcoming without being over attentive. We will certainly return to Cringletie.

Superb check in welcome from Hubert and highly recommended 7 course taster dinner. Offered innovative vegan options. Server Angus and stories from Hubert were lovely. Very relaxing overnight stay with a stroll round the grounds.

Chefs Sunday Grand Tasting Menu What a fabulous experience - definitely recommend . The staff from booking all the way through to departure could not have been more helpful, friendly and professional - amazing customer service The hotel is lovely - very grand but no detail is missed and everything is catered for Beautiful setting The food and drink offer for the trading menu was exceptional . Every single course and matched wine were individual, carefully created and tasted amazing , could not fault . We met the chef who explained the menus then Liam ( who was outstanding ) looked after us like royalty The breakfast the next morning did not disappoint - one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had Overall a superb experience, not cheap but fantastic value for money

Lovely settings driving up. Receptionist was extremely lovely, Harriet was very bubbly and a great front of house welcome. We stayed one night in Ardean cottage with hot tub. Harriet showed us everything we needed to see and settled us in. Although we had seen pictures of the cottage before we arrived we were a bit disappointed with the cottage. We are a well travelled couple and have always stated that the front entrance of a building can say a lot. This wee cottage could do we a touch of stainer on the wooden entrance of the cottage to keep up with the ambience of the estate as it looks quite grubby. The main problem we had on entry was the overwhelming smell of dampness which stayed with us. The decor would be best suited in keeping in tow with the main house itself as it’s a little dated and not very luxurious compared to the main house rooms/suites. We have stayed in many luxurious places hotels, lodges, castles etc and for the price charged found it to be a bit on the high end for what we received. On the other hand everything we required was available. The hospitality tray had shortbread coffee hot chocolate tea milk and something we haven’t experienced before 4 small miniatures of whisky, a very welcoming touch. The hot tub I have to say was the best we have ever used even compared to Forest Holidays. The morning of breakfast was a great pleasure yet again a mention to Harriet, she was very bubbly attentive an amazing at her job. We would go as far as saying the best service we have ever had, and that’s a very high compliment. The breakfast was beautiful. Next time we may stay in the suites but not the cottage which is a great shame as it’s set in such a beautiful estate
