We stayed in the Wine and Books Hotel for Seven nights .The Hotel should be rated 7* .We have travelled worldwide and this is by far the best Hotel we have stayed in .The staff are very special , working as an excellent team to make us feel at home. Special thanks to Camilla and Soraia on the front desk and to the food and beverage manager and all the restaurant and housekeeping staff for excellent Service which went above and beyond what we expected...Nothing is too much trouble for this excellent team. The room was quiet and comfortable and the food and breakfast is the best we ate in Porto. We truly felt we were leaving good friends by the time we left .Thank you all for a truly great stay. No words.... Has been a trip INSIDE a subway construction area .... And I am not kidding unfortunately. I have reserved a single room kind bed. At beginning the reception assigned me one room at 4th floor exactly in front of jackhammer operators, which made the same noises as in war scenario with 2 beds. Then after my immediate big complain reception have assigned me another room, #209. Different scenario : that was in front of a concrete grinding crane arrives from 8pm in the morning until 10pm in the evening. at 7am the noises of the vehicles began with the relative movement alarm and in the evening after 10pm the workers who hammer gradually finished at 1am in the night. all i have timed videos to prove my experience. I asked several times to assign me a room ON OTHER SIDE (that are outside the ”war operation area”) but answer was always _ ”SORRY SIR, THE ROOM ON BACKSIDE ARE FULL AND WE DO NOT HAVE SPACE AVAILABLE” . Today at check out I have asked a discount, as feedback the receptionist charged me 20EUR more for 2 peer juices I have got from minibar...... I do not know how to describe this experience, I have been many times in Intercontinental and I have been always satisfied.... BESIDE THIS LAST TRIP THAT IS REALLY SOMETHING I WANT TO FORGET Travellers' take extreme care going there !! At least until the subway works under room balcony are finished !!! Can not upload pictures the website tell me ”unable to lad” but I can sent ll of them separately

A very nice boutique hotel. The public area and guest rooms are very well designed. The bathroom facilities in the room are good. There is a coffee machine and kettle. Chocolates are given at turndown and a bottle of porter is given at welcome. The front desk service is average. The girls in the afternoon class are better than the ones in the morning class.

Partner and I stayed at Casa da Companhia for a week - it was one of the best hotel experiences of our lives! From check-in to the attentive breakfast service and continuing through check-out, we were thrilled by the warmth and quality of service of the staff. Recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, and a day tour of Douro were all top-notch, and we'll be passing them onto our friends who follow us. Location is on Rue das Flores - a pedestrian-access only street. If you have significant mobility concerns, I would recommend reaching out ahead of time to the hotel to coordinate your arrival transportation. Location cannot be beat - we walked everywhere and were very happy with our access to a number of sights, restaurants, the waterfront, etc. There was a minor hiccup (no fault of the hotel) regarding another guest on our floor who was smoking in their room. The smell subsequently made its way into our room via the ventilation system. Before leaving for a dinner, we notified the front desk and they took immediate action, assessing the smell in our room. Upon our return that evening, they offered to place us in another room overnight, if the smoke smell persisted. When we returned to our room, the smell had dissipated and we declined the extra room - but we greatly appreciated their responsiveness and offer of alternative accommodations. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed. I enjoyed the dry sauna and indoor pool on a rainy day and found both to be very well-maintained. We'll be recommending this hotel to our friends and family and are looking forward to returning to Porto and Casa da Companhia.

An obvious first class hotel. The room was exceptionally appointed and very spacious. The bathroom was stunning with all marble, separate water closet, shower and double sink vanity. Two closets for hanging and multiple drawers. Very quiet when windows were closed but opened to get the Porto city vibe, when desired. Great location and easily walkable to river or around town. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The hotel team was gracious and helpful. The gym was small but had everything you needed to maintain some workout routine on vacation! We didn't enjoy the spa but toured it, including the indoor pool, and it was beautiful. The bar was cozy for a pre-evening drink and the staff was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel as it will make your Porto experience one to remember!

The room on the 1st floor was Spacious, clean, the air con and black out curtains worked well and the bathroom had 2 sinks, a bidet and a large shower. The staff are all very helpful, polite and friendly. The lovely roof top terrace is a great bonus after a day sightseeing, the drinks are reasonably priced e.g. 3.50 euros for a large beer and 7 for a cocktail (these are well made, not like a certain place we went too in Porto -WOW !!) you could taste the alcohol and the bar staff will bring them up to you, also a very nice addition is free nibbles later in the afternoon. All round great hotel.

We stayed there for 3 nights. Although the room was on the first floor facing at the back, the view was still amazing. Room great, bed and matress great. Toilet very small and difficult to move or leave your things around. However, not a major problem. Towels were changed every day. Breakfast was amazing, various and plenty. We tried almost everything. The food was tasty and fresh. Staff was very helpful and friendly. They answered all our questions and gave us helpful advice about destinations and travelcards. I asked them to refill the shower gel, as it had finished, and they did that the next second. Kitchen staff very helpful and picked up all the dirty dishes from the table after asking you. Location not in the city centre but the bus terminal is behind the shopping mall (which is near the hotel) so we had all the options of taking any bus to anywhere. You can also top up the Andante Travel Bus card in the bus terminal. Metro station is also next to Casa Da Musica (all busses stop there). Very good hotel, we can definitely stay there again next time we visit Porto.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Porto for 2 nights recently as part of a work trip. The hotel is in a good location, about 10 mins drive from the airport. There are a few small shops and bars / restaurants nearby. The rooms are nice, a great size and come with all the usual amenities that you'd expect from such a hotel. I ate in the bar on each night, the food was great and very good value for money. The service provided by the 2 bartenders was also great! I'll be back again in early summer and would recommend to anyone looking for a good hotel in Porto.

This hotel is incredibly well located, right beside the stunning Clerigos church, within a very short walking distance of Porto’s cathedral (Se), Sao Bento station, Lello bookshop and so many other of the city’s top attractions. Despite its fantastic location, the narrow streets in front of and beside it are very quiet, with hardly any cars going by. I was impressed by how clean the spaces were, I could see my own reflection on the walls and the floor! The staff was also extremely nice and friendly. I loved the fact that a basic but very good breakfast is included in their very reasonable price. Throughout the day, you can also help yourself at any time to a very tasty coffee, some fruit and even some housemade typical Porto wine, which shows that they make an extra effort to make you feel at home. Of course, given how much money you save by staying there, you can’t expect any kind of extra luxury. For example, some of the doors’ and drawers’ handles were loose, a few elements were a bit old and the room was quite small, even though it was also very clean, with a very comfortable bed. Obviously, those minor details didn’t undermine in any way the positive overall impression I had of the establishment. I really recommend it to all those looking for a clean, comfortable, charming and well-located place to stay. Just be aware that you obviously won’t get any extra glamour with it, which you shouldn’t expect anyway, given their great prices. I can’t wait to go back!

I stayed at this hotel last year and the experience was very positive. This year had to return and my first choice was to book again. The hotel is very central and allows you to get everywhere. The staff is amazing, from reception to the restaurant they were all amazingly friendly and attentive. I must say that last year i was served by Carla Teixeira and this year when i went down for breakfast, was served again by this amazing lady. She has the most positive attitude and is very helpful with everyone, i ve asked her for a recommendation where to get a birthday cake made for the same day and she gave the best recommendation.

We stayed at the One Shot, Porto for three nights in mid October and found the hotel (apart from the ongoing metro works nearby) charm personified. All the members of staff we found friendly, polite, and warm, with a an excellent knowledge of the local places of interest. Quite obviously this is to be expected of most hotels, however on our last nights stay I had the misfortune to have left my travel documents in a taxi. It was close to nine o'clock. The duty manager, we felt, went above and beyond his role by providing all the help we needed to obtain copy documents. To which we cannot thank him enough. When booking the One shot do not be put off by its price and opt for cheaper alternatives, and the end of the day its all about the service one receives, and as we all know the cheaper alternative can often prove the more expensive in the long run. If the owners are reading this review give the members of staff a huge pat on the back for services above and beyond a call of duty. Richard and Ann Sinclair.

Where to start? I am spoiled for choice. - Non-existent staff, in the literal sense of the word. having booked the trip through an agency, I limited myself to calling the hotel a couple of days before departure to confirm our arrival. No response even after several attempts and repeated phone calls. NO ONE HAS EVER ANSWERED THE PHONE. Same thing via email, no response. -Once you arrive in Porto in the evening, in front of the hotel ready to check in, NO ONE HAS OPENED US, despite having rang repeatedly. We tried several times to call the telephone numbers indicated near the door and, again, no one answered. In desperation, we were about to look for another accommodation, when we accidentally met some tourists who were staying in this bad structure, who opened the door and explained that they had the same problem. They too managed to enter thanks to a tourist who was staying there and who had the keys. Once inside there was an envelope on the reception desk with our names and the room assigned to us with the key. But no trace, even in the following days and at any time, of a member of staff - THE ROOM: it smells stuffy and a terrible smell

Travelled down to Portugal from Spain to stay and watch the football, on arrival we was told our son was too old for breakfast so they wanted to charge guys an extra 120 euros for him.? although on the app he's a child.? we decided not to bother with it, got our room which was extremely old, we had an adjoining room for our soon, the bathroom was out of the 70s with a shower curtain and the worst shower ever, the toilet broke first time using it, told management when we went out, come back and they couldn't fix it so we had to move everything to another room.!!! which was a small room with double and single bed in.!! no Aircon, no refund was offered or anything to help with the trouble, I stay in a lot of hotels all over Europe and this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. also says it has parking but it doesn't, its miles away in a big underground parking and its 25 euros a day, location is good though that's about it
