Amazing hospitality and food,probably the best in Bhutan. Chef Suraj has magic in hands. Great view of Punakha Town. The cultural dance in the evening is must attend for everyone staying in Punakha. Amazing comfy and cozy rooms. We are glad we chose to spend our holiday at Dhensa Resort.

Bhutanese architecture is beautiful, but after a week of seeing nothing but Bhutanese architecture, Dhensa was a great change of pace. The property is wonderfully peaceful. The spa experience was outstanding. The staff fell over themselves to provide good service.

Beautiful and peaceful resort with supreme views in the evening and early morning. Rooms are small but well organized and the views excellent. Breakfast gets you ready for nice hikes in the mountains. Dinner food is good for Bhutan standards. Nice stream and sauna and peaceful library room above reception. Friendly staff.

This is a quality property located on the side of a mountain overlooking the town of Punakha far below. With stunning views and ethereal quietude it is truly a place to find serenity. They offer spa services that include massage, sauna and steam. The food is marginal, but the wait staff, particularly Kharga and Karma, were extremely personable. Unfortunately after we left the property, our guide received a call from the property saying we owed them money for one of our lunches. Two issues were at odds here: 1. why was this not caught before we left, and 2. They had screwed up our lunch order by serving a ham and cheese sandwich with no ham (?), and fried rice served with garlic which they knew my husband was allergic to. Our poor guide ended up in the middle of a storm that the hotel could have handled much more professionally if they had communicated internally. This soured us on the property unfortunately

This is a great hotel in a great location. The views from our room were stunning, and the room itself is well-designed with everything a traveler needs. The nightly culture show was lame. No reason to rush to attend it. Their attempt was sweet, but they should do more or cancel it. We didn't know what we were watching or what was happening. A brief description or introduction to each dance would help. We attended a cultural show in Paro and it was outstanding. So this one needs to be removed or needs a complete overhaul. What they performed just was weak and not indicative of all the other great things this hotel offers. The buffet, both breakfast and dinner, was the best we had in Bhutan. They had a nice variety of options, including some custom-made choices. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The property is not located in an area where you could walk or run (if you like to do that on your own). Very attentive staff. Highly recommend. Our favorite place of our entire Bhutan travels.

Dhensa Boutique Resort provided a perfect base to visit the Punakha area, with a large quiet room with fabulous view and all the amenities expected of a top resort. Meals were varied and high quality, providing a wide range of options in addition to Bhutanese. Staff was always attentive, Mr. Ngawang Samten especially so.
