The hotel room is quite old. Light switches do not function well. Wifi is weak. The phone in the room doesn't work. The refrigerator does not work. The air conditioner works well. Breakfast is good. Receptionists are nice and helpful.

It was such an unique experience to stay in a hotel inside the ancient city wall, it felt like travelled back to China in the olden days. As it was off-peak season when we visited 山海关，we were upgraded to a family room, which mean there is a separate bedroom with a single bed, on top of a master room with a double bed. As it was rather cold and we were tired from all the walking, we decided to make life easy by eating at the restaurant within the hotel. We didn't expect much though. But..., we were much much more than surprise the dishes were Ace standard, be it in presentation or taste! A big big thumb up! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, we really enjoyed the service extended to us! It is no doubt hotel staff in China places their guests at top priority, making them feel at home at all times. P.S the teapot was not filled with tea but a yummilicious 松茸汤。

Upsides: charming low-rise hotel; convenient location in the old town, friendly and helpful staff (though limited English), generous buffet breakfast Downsides: a raucous and chain-smoking (but amicable) group of other guests. A leaking washbasin (fixed promptly). No bar. Would stay happily again.

Excellent location near the west gate of the walled town . Walking distance to all corners of the old town. The hotel is built in ancient Chinese style and is a popular photo spot for tourists. The room is not well soundproofed but, fortunate for us, noises were minimal during sleep hours. Shower and air-conditioning (heating) could be improved.

This is a very well-appointed and comfortable hotel located within the old town walls of Shanhaiguan, 50 yards or so from the east gate. It is built and decorated in the traditional style of the area. Large, comfortable beds, the a/c unit warms the room. A filling and varied breakfast is delivered to the room in the morning. The staff are cheerful and pleasant. The hotel boasts a restaurant in a separate building which serves a wide selection of delicious food. Private dining rooms are available. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would be very happy to return.

I had a very good stay. The first room they gave me, there was mold in the bathroom. It was quickly resolved as they upgraded my room. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Location is amazing, right in the centre of the old town. Will definitely be returning!

I heard that Gemei is coming, but since I'm already out, I'll just go with the flow and continue traveling. It's pretty good. Check-in was very smooth, and the lady at the front desk upgraded the room type with a very warm smile. The breakfast was okay, and the variety was OK. The overall service was very good, the facilities were a bit old, and the location was good! After a good sleep, it was dawn, the sky was clear, and my mood was even better!

The hotel is a bit old, but it has everything it should have and is still comfortable. The service is commendable. The service of the front desk manager Li and Wang Yu is very heartwarming. They gave us coupons to experience travel photography, and they really understood my intentions. The children also liked it very much ~ good reviews!

The hotel is in a good location, right on the West Street of the ancient city of Shanhaiguan. I like the ancient courtyard very much and the scenery is beautiful. The front desk service is very good, introducing attractions, local specialties, and helping with luggage. Very considerate, and the room is also very clean. Not bad, I will come again if I have the chance.

Shanhai Holiday Hotel is a very good hotel with beautiful environment and good location. The rooms are very clean and tidy. The special hot pot here is also very delicious. The special dishes here are also very attractive. The waiters are also very enthusiastic and breakfast is provided. The breakfast is also very rich. The night view at night is also very good. It is also very close to the No. 1 Pass in the World. I also recommend everyone to come here. It's very good!

The hotel is in a good location. Parking is convenient and there are charging stations. We brought our children out to play and had a lot of luggage. The waiter Zhou Jianye helped us get to the room and enthusiastically introduced the attractions around the hotel. It was very helpful for us because we didn't make a guide. Thumbs up [strong]
